1 Engine Noise problem of the 2015 Ford Taurus

Failure Date: 01/15/2021

Twice the power went off on my car while driving on the highway. I was lucky to be able to pull off the road. Waited a few minutes and got power back. The car makes noise when going down the road, and I have always been told that the Ford Taurus does this. They said nothing was wrong. The noise is where you wonder if you are safe, and probably would never find a buyer for the vehicle. The car sounds like an electrical problem sometimes from the radio, and when I use the phone. Weird. The blue lights on the dash board can be blinding. Had my eyes checked by a specialist and not my eyes. One time I had left my car running in park in the driveway and when walking around to the other side of the car, the car rolled out of my driveway and damaged the door on the garage door. Obviously the car losing power twice on a highway is a serious issue. This happened two years ago, and two months ago was the second time.

2 Engine Noise problem of the 2010 Ford Taurus

Failure Date: 02/24/2016

My son was driving this car when it started to make noise and smoke about 10 minutes from our house. He was driving on streets, not highway. He pulled over. We called our mechanic and he advised us not to drive it and get it towed. Upon his inspection, he saw 2 holes in the engine that looked like something shot out of it. The engine had to be replaced. The mechanic said he never saw anything like this and that it must be a manufacturing defect. We took pictures of it. When I contacted Ford, they said there was nothing they could do about it because the warranty had expired a few months earlier. We had to pay for a new engine.

4 Engine Noise problem of the 2004 Ford Taurus

Failure Date: 02/15/2013

Went out one morning, cranked the car and the engine was racing and would not slow down. The engine sounds like it is going to blow up. It is revving up around 3000 rpm and will not slow down. I have to constantly use the brakes to keep the car from going too fast. I tried to tap the gas pedal but it does nothing except rev higher. Some kind of cable had fallen off and a friend of mine put it back on, but now I think it is off again. The car has made me feel very unsafe while driving it and I do not have the money to get another car.

5 Engine Noise problem of the 2003 Ford Taurus

Failure Date: 01/22/2012

Vehicle made noise while driving on flat ground. Asked passenger if they heard the noise and they did not. Car continued to drive approximately 2 more miles. Car started to fail while driving uphill. The car made a revving sound and then stopped moving. Turned flashers on and pulled over to the side of the road. Scared that car would not park. Tried to change gears and vehicle went into park. Still scared so hand brake was applied. Called father and uncle to move car. Car had to be pushed backwards down the hill into a parking space at a secondary school. Next day, car was towed to residence. Vehicle will be towed to transmission specialist in February for diagnosis. Had to worry about getting to work to even pay for repair. Scared to imagine the cost.

6 Engine Noise problem of the 2008 Ford Taurus

Failure Date: 01/21/2010

I was entering I 70 east in columbus ohio off the james road exit, while attempting to merge into the outside lane. I sped up to adjust my speed, as a vehicle was in the same lane. When I accelerated, the car automatically took over and suddenly accelerated and revved up high and fast. My first reaction was to hit the brakes, I did, but the brakes would not depress or brake. I was trying to think of everything to do and monitor the cars around me, as well. I tried holding down the brakes hard and taking off while the car went flying by two exits, I knew I would not be able to exit because I couldn't stop. I continued with trying to locate the flasher and thinking about hitting the emergency brake but, I didn't because I was unsure whether it would come to a quick stop. I kept pushing down and up on the brake pedal. Suddenly, the revving began to settle down (a fast downward revving sound) and I was able to brake the car. I was unsure whether to pull over so I decided to continue to my destination which was only 3 exits away. I parked and looked at the car and especially the area near my feet, there was nothing interfering with the brakes or the accelerator. I panicked all the way home, not knowing what would happen so I stayed off the freeway, believing the freeway speed would cause a similar issue. As soon as I got home, I researched the issue and found some similar instances with the same make and model. I will call the dealer tomorrow. I had a previous experience with the transmission stopping on the freeway and disengaging while driving and when I stopped. When I would pull over and switch the gears, the car would make a loud dropping sound. And it would be difficulty to switch gears. The car shifts at times and kicks back. The dealer replaced a sensor but, it has not resolved the issue completely. I've taken it back and they found nothing. I hope they will find something, as I am afraid to drive this car after tonights experience.

9 Engine Noise problem of the 2007 Ford Taurus

Failure Date: 12/04/2007

While driving my car on the expressway the low oil pressure light came on. I pulled off the expressway to go to the gas station and before I could make it the car cut off. As I attempted to turn it back on the engine began to make noises. I had the ar towed to the dealership and was first told that ii hit something and that made the oil filter come out and this is not covered by the warranty, because this is considered a accident. After further conversation I informed Ford that my last oil change was more than two months ago by a private company.
