The third time the car started idling very roughly while stopped at a traffic light. This time, a computer message came up on the message board. The car was taken to a place where the error code could be read. The error was a problem with the camshaft sensor position. Replacing the camshaft sensor appears to have resolved the problem.

15 Engine Stall problem of the 2010 Ford Taurus

Failure Date: 06/24/2011

At least 7 times while driving on the expressway the engine stalled. I have to shift to neutral and step on the brake and push the start button and the car is back to normal when I shift to drive. I took it in to the dealer and they could not find anything wrong. The fear is that I do not know when it will stall again. I have read on the internet that other Ford Taurus owners have the same problem. I would hope that you could make the Ford company recall these cars before somebody gets hurt. Before it stalled the previous time on sept. 2, 2011 at 38,640 miles it did not stall till July 5,2012. At47,405 miles. Then it stalled yesterday July 16, 2012.

17 Engine Stall problem of the 2003 Ford Taurus

Failure Date: 09/14/2007

My car began making a high-pitched squeal. I took my vehicle to a local Ford dealer. Upon hearing the noise the tech knew that it was the result of a bad camshaft position sensor, camshaft synchronizer. He stated that it is a common occurrence with Fords. The camshaft position sensor would function intermittently resulting in an engine stall without warning. Sometimes I was unable to restart the vehicle for quite some time. The engine has stalled when backing out of the driveway, when proceeding to make turns in traffic, and other not so ideal locations. Thankfully oncoming traffic stopped their vehicles before impacting my own.

2004 Ford Taurus ffv. 1) the car takes two or more attempts to start the engine after sitting for 6+ hours ("cold" engine). Vehicle is running e85 only. 2) after it starts, the engine cannot find an idle and can stall or rev up unexpectedly. 3) so far two different dealerships have replaced the fuel pump with no chnage in status. Additionally, one dealership has been playing around with the computer programming. This has not sovled the problem. Ford's only solution to date is to not use e85 even though this vehicle is a ffv.
