1 Fuel Injection Rail problem of the 2003 Ford Taurus

Failure Date: 04/23/2006

Engine starts misfiring and loses power completely and shuts off. You can turn ignition off and restart engine and the engine runs good for a few minutes. The fuel rail sensor corrects this problem, but I've installed two sensors in four months.

2 Fuel Injection Rail problem of the 2001 Ford Taurus

Failure Date: 08/08/2002

While driving the vehicle in stop and go traffic consumer noticed smoke coming from under the hood, and the vehicle hesitated. Consumer was able to pull the vehicle out of traffics onto the side of the road. The local fire department arrived to extinguish the fire. Vehicle was towed to the dealer. The insurance investigator inspected the vehicle and determined that the cause of the fire was a fuel rail failure which leaked fuel onto the manifold.
