The car has the cap les fuel filler system, whem I fill the car, it leaks gas on the ground behind the rear tire, each time the the pump shuts off. It does this at every station I fill up at. If I try to top off the tank it makes a very large puddel. The dealer I purchased the car from has not fixed this complaint and will not doccument my complaint.

This is a mustang. There was no choice for mustang on your vehicles so I had to pick Taurus. There is a problem with my fuel tank. I will not accept gas. It may only take 1/2 a tank and stop and I am unable to fill it any further. Sometimes it won't take any if I have more than 1/4 when I try to put gas in. Sometimes it will fill up. This is a brand new 2006 mustang and just purchased in September 2005. There was a Ford technical service bulletin TSB-05-15-12 on this same exact problem on the 2005 mustang built after 4/26/05 but apparently nothing was done about it since my car was built in August of 2005. I called the dealership and was told Ford isn't making any corrections at this time.

Driving along the interstate at 74 mph and the car started hesitating and surging and then we lost complete power; no gas pedal and no steering. The terrain was rolling hills. We had just under a half a tank of gas. There were no indications there was anything wrong with our vehicle it just went into these symptoms. It happened four more times as we were driving before we could get it to our dealer. Each time we were able to make it to the side of the road, wait about 30 minutes and try to start the vehicle again and travel about 15 miles. I went to the dealership and explained the symptoms and they replaced my "in line fuel filter" yf1z-9155-CA(filter 1767).

The "check engine" light came on in my 2003 Ford Taurus. I took the vehicle for service at the Ford dealership that sold me the car. I was told the "check engine" light was the result of a cracked fuel filler neck. My repair invoice states that "filler necks are usually cracked when fuel fill nozzles are inserted improperly or negigently. " I live in new jersey where it is illegal to pump your own gasoline. This car has been filled at the same gas station at every fill-up. There is nothing to suggest that the gas station attendant did anything differently at the last fueling of the vehicle, but I have been told by multiple Ford service advisors that this damage had to occur at my last fill-up. There was no sign that the nozzle was forced into the filler neck, nor was there anything that suggested any unusual force or torque was being applied to the nozzle. I was told by the service manager that he has seen multiple failures of these parts and Ford takes the position that unless the crack is along the seam of the plastic casting that it is the result of damage, not a manufacturer's defect repairable under warranty. I feel that a component this critical should be able to handle the force of a gasoline pump nozzle being inserted into it, and should have sufficient additional strength to withstand the upper limit of forces that can be applied to it with that nozzle.

19'97 Taurus, like many of the Ford & other product lines, have the gas filler pipe on the starboard side. With the fuel delivery system almost completely gone to self-serve, this ?!@#$% arrangement generates confusion in busy service stations leading to a great potential for fuel spills and fires. All cars, even if they think the european location is "cute" should be mandated to have fuel fill pipe location on the port side of the vehicle. Reduce confusion. Increase safety.

Consumer was not able to fill tank to read full, it wlways cut off. Dealer replaced fuel pump, and filler cap. Currently, vehicle will not shut off when filling gas tank. Fuel will spill on consumer and ground. Also there is a high pitched sound when driving, dealer claims he cannot hear that.
Ongoing problem with fuel spitting back out while refueling. Dealer notified, and informed consumer that part was not covered under manufacturer's recall, and any repairs would be at consumer cost.

Would be driving vehicle when engine check light would come on. Problem has happened numerous times. Have taken vehicle to dealership, mechanic indicated nothing wrong, only fuel cap needed to be tightened.
Local gas station had low price today so place was crowded. Much chaos due to stupid placement of gas filler pipe on starboard side. Chaos breeds confusion and unsafe condition. Car makers think it looks european but a starboard gas filler location is more dangerous than it needs to be. Every filler should be on one side only.
