Tl- the contact owns a 2006 Ford Taurus. The contact stated that there was a progressive leak of transmission fluid shown under the front of the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that there was a transmission fluid leak and when the vehicle was turned off the fluid leaked into the motor. The mechanic diagnosed that the trans-axle vent needed to be replaced along with a 90 degree vent stem small hose with clamps. The 90 degree vent stem prematurely fractured and needed to be replaced. The dealer was notified of the failure and stated the vehicle needed to be further inspected and diagnosed to determine the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and provided no remedy. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 140,000. Dyd.

20150705 0940 as I was driving about 25-30 mph the car started accelerating on its on, I tapped on the brakes, there were no deceleration of the vehicle, as the car continued to accelerate. As I was coming to my left hand turn approaching other vehicles I realize that I was not going to be able to stop the car as long as the car keeps accelerating, therefore I executed the turn prematurely to avoid a possible accident. As I entered onto the street I turned on to I pumped the brakes several times and the car continued to accelerate. I continued to press the brakes and slowing the car to about 5 mph and released the brakes and the car taken off again. I placed the car in neutral and revved the engine several times and the engine speed came back down to idle. I just had the vehicle at the butch oustalet Ford dealership (20150512 with a written and oral description of the problems with the acceleration, engine shut-off, stalling . I was contacting by them informing me about the cruise control cable, windshield wiper water hose broken as well as bill for over $1000. 00 to repair. As I researched online last night to find out there has been a issue related for this same problem, and that NHTSA has contacted Ford about this, but given them the opportunity to handle it in-house, a recall was never issued of this potentially death trap at the cost of the consumer. On the invoice there is a limited warranty for certain parts, but there is no warranty for misdiagnosing, wrongful charge, intentional fraud and abuse of customer expectation, not to mention integrity of the dealership. What I have read online regarding NHTSA investigation is , it is going to take several deaths related to this issue before positive corrective matters are taken before the consumers receive the justice that is needed. 1965 mustang issues, still in denial.

When it is cold (30 or below degrees) the engines dies right after you start it. I was going 60 mph on the interstate when the engine just died. I have been trying to get this problem fixed since Dec. 2009, my machanic cannot see to fix the problem. He keeps replacing parts, but, appartently not the right one.
The contact owns a 2001 Ford Taurus. When the air conditioner was turned on, the engine would stall. The weather was 90 degrees. There were no warning indicators. The vehicle would restart after several hours. The dealer was unable to diagnose or repair the failure. The failure mileage was 98,000 miles. The current mileage was 105,000.

I was driving and the car just went dead in the middle of the road. Tried starting and smelled fuel. Car towed. Fuel line had come loose and fell off. Then a week later, car stalled on freeway - I was able to coast off. Car started again after 1 1/2 hours. Taken to Ford service dept. I had to slip into neutral and give gas when slowing down or breaking in tandem with using breaks. Dealership said there were no problems. Same week, car stalls on freeway again. I am stopped in rush hour traffic trying to start car. It starts - I make it to work, car stalls in parking lot. Take it again to dealership - they say no problem. 2 weeks later, car stalls on freeway. I had to drive with no air conditioning in order to keep the car from stalling. Again to dealership (3rd time in 3 weeks) and again they say there is no problem. They also tell me air conditioning pulls a lot of gas - ? what - you shouldn't be able to drive your car with air conditioning on in the 100 plus degree weather in az? I have been lucky up to now, but am afraid of having an accident on the freeway if it stalls again. I would like to hear back from someone at Ford motor company - I have already paid two different dealerships diagnostic fees and both say there is no problem. I think there is.

Excessive acceleration. I was going up a hill in DC traffic and could not stop accelerating. I had to put the emergency brakes on and turn the car off. Hrottle positoin sensor went out. I sent the car to the Ford dealership. My extented warranty did not cover that b/c they said it was a fuel system problem not a emission problem.
The vehicle stalled intermittently. The consumer took the vehicle to the dealer and the dealership changed the egr sensor. However, the problem still continued. The cause of the failure was undetermined. Provide further details. . . . . Dealership also replaced front brake pads.
One morning car was started and an explosion came from engine compartment. The explosion resulted in destruction of the upper intake manifold and egr regulator. Cause of explosion is unknown.

I own a 2001 Ford Taurus the car won't shift into gear is this problem going to be recalled? 23,000 miles same vehicle has 23,000 miles the egr valve has been replaced twice is this going to be recalled?.
While traveling anywhere between 10 mph to 60 mph engine stalls out as if too much air or not enough gas. This has happened in the middle of downtown city traffic and on major interstates over the last 2 months. It takes from 10 minutes to one hour to start car up, then runs with no problems for a week or so then all starts again. Engine light comes on at the time problem occurs, must take to mechanic to have diagnosed. Each time he's been unable to pin point the problem. Have spent over $1000 in the last 2 months with this problem and continue to experience the problem with new parts replaced. Mechanic unable to find the root problem, diagnostic machine codes have been coming up incomplete codes. I am still experiencing this problem after replacing the gasket, egr valve, oxygen sensor, temp control valve. Mechanic now watching the intake control valve which is very expensive to replace. Also watching the fuel pump, but that is testing ok. Any ideas as to what the solution to this is. I can't afford much more money for a 3 year old vehicle. Any assistance in getting Ford to fix this problem or forcing a recall would be greatly appreciated. Does this constitute the mn lemon law? help.
Last summer, my 1998 Ford Taurus blew an engine. It was about 4000 miles over warranty. The garage told me that it was nothing that I had done. The problem was probably' a failure in the oil pump, that my car had experienced oil pressure problems. They also said that they regretted that my warranty had expired. I had to pay to replace a new engine. They sent in a rebuilt engine, replaced the bad engine, and extended the warranty to 100,000 miles. Then, this July (July 25,2003) I was driving the same 1998 Ford Taurus with the previously blown engine. The add coolant light came on. I immediately stopped the car. Water was pouring from either the radiator or hose. I called a tow truck and had the car towed home (about a distance of 60 miles). I had it towed to my local mechanic. On Monday morning, the mechanic called and said that I had many more problems that just a leak. He said it looked like I had a blown head gasket. He could not even get the car to start. Because the car was still under warranty, I had it towed to the bowling green Lincoln & Mercury in bowling green OH. This is where I had originally purchased the car and the place that had replaced the engine the previous summer. After waiting nearing two weeks to get permission from detroit (?) to fix it, an inspector was sent down to examine the damage. His report indicated that the problem was not from a defective engine, but from environmental contamination. They voided the warranty. I asked what environmental contamination meant. I was informed that the inspector had decided that my car had been in a flood. I was taken back. My car had not been in a flood. The mechanics, the service representative, and service manager all confirmed that there was absolutely no evidence that the car was in a flood. I personally heard the service manager talk to someone in detroit confirming that the car had not been in a flood. Detroit sent out another inspector who took flood samples from the car.

Auto: Ford Taurus 2002 with the ("ffe") "fuel flex engine" installed problem: car experiences "classic miss under load" or "hesitation" at constant speed with a low throttle angle on the gas petal between 20-50 mph while in either "over drive or drive". Most pronounced in cruise control between 20-50 mph with a/c off. Repair effort: after (4) repair cycles within local dealer's shop, the last with Ford field engineering present, have identified the problem to be isolated to the "exhaust gas recycling valve". Since the "ffe" engine is design to work with both ethanol and standard gasoline, it is believed the opening and closing cycle of the egr valve is incorrect for use with standard gasoline. The fourth and final repair report states egr is the cause of the auto performance problem. The owner firmly believes this egr problem is also the cause of periodic motion felt within the car, which may cause feelings of "nausea" possibly due to "motion sickness" to the driver and any occupants in the car. Dealer mechanics and the service manager have been successful in repeating the performance problem during test drives and can stop problem by disconnecting of portion of erg system. Ford field engineering final decision on repair: "no repair necessary, this effect is normal for this type of engine". Auto owner is now using "dispute settlement board" within Ford motor company to resolve this problem. Owner believes this type of problem falls under "defective product" statute.
The "service engine soon" light came on and was diagnosed at a local auto parts store with code 402 that showed excessive flow in the egr system. I removed the egr valve and tube from the engine and inspected the components. The egr valve was extremely clean and did not show any leakage through the valve when it was closed. The tube leading from the exhaust manifold to the egr valve was also extremely clean. The battery was disconnected to reset the indicator light. Two days later, the indicator light illuminated again. The vehicle was taken to clarke Ford in hudson, ohio for repairs. The vehicle was tested by a mechanic who found the same results. I was charged for two labor hours for replacement of the dpfe sensor and trouble shooting. I told the dealer that I wished to keep the old parts. When I reviewed the old part with the mechanic, excessive corrosion was present in the hose of the sensor. The mechanic and service writer informed me that Ford no longer manufactures the sensor from metal and the replacement is plastic to prevent the corrosion. The service writer proceeded to show me the print out that displayed the replacement information. I had been to clarke Ford on two consecutive days before this automobile was serviced to schedule the appointments for service on two vehicles and to drop the vehicles for servicing. While I was speaking with the service writer, no less than 5 other customers received the same news of a bad dpfe sensor. The service writer informed me that this failure was very common. I feel that this situation needs further investigation since the problem appears to be so widespread and has a new style replacement part to fix the corrosion problem.

When ever my car hits over 250 degree's it will stall out , you then have to wait till the engine cools to start it back up , this mainly occur,s when it it very warm out side. I first had this happen when I was traveling down on interstate in the middle of July when the outside temp was about 95 degree's all of a sudden the car just died in the middle of the interstate. This problem had occured several time befor while driving in my home town just doing 30- 45 miles per hour or sitting at a red lite . I have read that Ford had the same problem with this moduler on earlier models I went to our Ford dealer and they said that they couldnt just fix it I would have to pay for it since my car was a 1996 not a 1995 I feel if Ford new that the earlier models had this problem they should be willing to fix it on mine also.

The car was operating under sunny dry conditions. Temperature was around 60 degrees. The engine stopped running, causing shutdown of all power related devices including steering and brakes. The Taurus seems to be more difficult than most cars to steer without powered assistance. I was lucky enough to be able to coast to an area where I could safely get off the road. Under different conditions, this failure could have caused a serious accident.
Egr valve malfunctioned.
On automatic transmission we were driving and engine check light came on and wouldn't go faster than 45, cam sensor, camshaft, died rough idle, egr sensor bad, service engine soon light, dies at stops and slow downs, fuel pump doesnt hold pressure, long crank time no turn over till about a minute service engine soon light came on.
Fuel odor coming in thru vents inside vehicle. Odor noticed on start up ,,and after hot soak. Cant find any fuel leaks. V-6 24 valve engine.
