Engine is knocking as consumer accelerates with speed. Transmission have been replaced twice in 37ooo miles. Front wheel bearing failed at 15000 miles. Rotors failed at 24000 miles.

The cool system has been recalled and was supposed to have been repaired but it is I do not want turnpike Ford to do repairs on my car I know there work and do not trust it that is where the car was purchased still giving us problems the coolant in it turn to a rust the heater will not get hot now the tempernture hand on guage stays down on the c all of the time we have tried to call Ford motor company about this and the will not give us a answer on the problem we have been toll that other people have had the same problem and some say that Ford has replaced the engine in some of the cars. Can you please help me I do not have the finicial means to buy another car.

Engine took in water through air intake at bottom of left wheel well, while driving in heavy rain, and making a turn through three to four inches of water; engine immediately seized up.

Consumer is complaining that vehicle will shut down in high temperature for no reason. This condition has occurred once before. Dealer notified and informed consumer to let them know if it occurs again, but nothing was done.

I own a 97 Ford Taurus that likes to ping. It started in 1998 and at the start of a cross country trip, went away, but came back. I took it to a dealer in tacoma wa, and was told that they cleaned a cylinder and that the owners manual says that light pinging is ok. They blew me off. I moved to fort knox, ky and the whole trip it lightly pinged. I put on over 5,000 miles in less than a month so it isn't carbon. Used name brand fuel the whole trip. It got to the point here that I took it back to Ford and was told by Ford, that Ford has this "pinging"problem in all their engines. V-6 to v-8 and in diff. Vehicles. He had just replaced a 4. 0 liter that day. . He wouldn't help me because I was out of warranty by 3 months, have 37,000 on the Ford and I didn't have enough documentation on the problem. I work with a guy who owns a 98 Taurus with the same problem. I have changed fuel brands and octane ratings and it doesn't go away. There are times when it takes a few hours of driving to start acting up, but it is there. Hills, steady driving, city driving, it doesn't matter. I am worried that I will eat an engine and Ford will tell me "OH well". Can you shed any light on this Ford known problem? thank you for your time.

While driving in traffic ,engine light illuminated indicating tha t vehicle will stumble while in idle. Dealership has been notified.

Rotors and pads have been replaced with no change to the shaking. Very violent at highway speeds.

Every time it rains the power steering goes out and the engine begins to die.

The auto dosn't slow down correctly. On level highway it only slows to 45mph without applying the brakes. My 1992 Ford Taurus did not act this way. The dealer and Ford customer assistance center say this is normal, but the loaner car also a 1998 Taurus did not act this way. This problem is a safety hazard, wastes gasoline, and caused the breaks to wear out faster. I would be willing to demonstrate the car to your department if you have a location in wichita, KS. Consumer states rpm races up to 4,000 rpms for no reason. Dealer could not duplicate problem. And the problem still exist.

Engine fire during collision due to leak.

Steering wheel pulsation wwhen braking over 50mph 2 different dealers tried to fix the problem bought it back to Ford 7 times. Engine stopped when parallel parking brake light came on twice car is only 8 months ld.

On July 29,2001, while driving at 50 mph on a country road, the car died. The dash light just came on and the just quit running in the middle of the road. No indication came from the car other than just stopped running. It didn't hesitate,bulk, or anything, just died. If this was on an innerstate freeway, it could of been disastrous.

In cold weather engine idles high. Dealer has seen vehicle 3 times, and replaced sensor on engine. Problem still exists.

Vehicle caught fire after driven for a short distance. Insurance company will not release cause. Owner indicated that something in engine was probable cause. Please describe details.

The engine revs when the brakes fail, the dealer could not duplicate the problem.

When the vehicle is started cold, consumer notices the vehicle surging, vehicle has been at dealership for 72 days, the dealer can not duplicate the problem.

After 40 mph the car has a surging problem. I took it to my dealer and they replaced the throttle sensor which they informed me that it did not fix the problem. They called Ford motor CO and found out there is a surging problem when the hydrocarbon builds up. They dont know how to fix the problem so they are not going to recall them until they know how to fix the problem. When you put the car in neutral while driving 40 mph the rpm's go up. They are supposed to go down. Patalano Ford expects me to pay for the throttle sensor even though they know it did not fix the problem. I am riding in an unsafe car. What can be done about this?.

While driving in traffic or into intersections vehicle will completely shut down, cause unknown. Dealer cannot identify problem. Please give any further details.

Was driving vehicle when suddenly engine blewout. There was no prior warning. Would have water coming out of freezing plug. Took to dealer, and mechanic replaced engine. But, problem still exists. Engine has been replaced 5 times, and problem was getting worse.
