Vehicle was involved in a collision with major front end damage and no airbags deployed. The brakes have been soft or spongy. I have not seen any leaks for the brake issue. I have bled the brakes several times the master was replaced by the original owner.

When placing the car in park, the brakes do not engage fully or right away. The vehicle rolls before coming to an abrupt and rough stop. When shifting the car out of park, the brakes make a loud noise. This causes a potential collision, or unintentionally hitting a pedestrian. Vehicle has not been inspected due to cost related issues to the vehicle owner.

Driving 65mph and the steering wheel locked up and the brakes weren’t working as they should. Check engine light came on. Was able to pull off the road. Shut off vehicle for awhile. Then it worked as it should. No repairs at this time but sounds like it will continue to happen.

Steering didn't work correctly which led to brakes not doing what I needed which led to slamming into a cement edge at a freeway exit or entrance. Seat belts locked up. Air bags did not deploy. Front passenger tire flat. Car towed next day. Ford dealership did nothing even when it was discovered Ford sold us a car with a flat spare tire (donut). Dealership said no recalls, but coverup or fixed but not correctly previously? car purchased used. Ford dealership said to go to body shop. Body shop couldn't do anything unless we paid $6,000. 00 to get the seat belts replaced. That's 1/3 the price financed for the car!!!! safety put at risk: flat spare tire & seat belts locked up. The dealership said nothing wrong with brakes & steering according to their electronic diagnosis. Didn't even look at brakes & steering. 2 incidents total so far with brakes & steering. Didn't think anything significant the first time. Seat belts locked up confirmed by certified body shop. No it has not been inspected by anybody else. No warning lights appeared. I unhooked wife's seat belt so she could exit the car as needed & it slammed into her left breast. See attached picture. It took a week for the bruise to go away. Bruise got worse before it disappeared. Hurt a lot.

Driving down cr 230 in wyoming, the situation started if I have to estimate, 7 miles west of woods landing, I heard a metal on metal grinding noise from the engine bay, and a loss of power on the throttle. I look at my rpm gauge and notice it is a zero. No check engine light, all electronics working as normal along with the brakes, and I slow the vehicle down to 30 mph. Shortly after noticing, I get a "check brake system" flash on my instrument panel cluster, also the light which illuminates for my parking brake turns on, and I lose power brakes, the brake pedal turned extremely stiff. I immediately look for a pull off zone, but because I had lost brakes I did not want to risk keeping the vehicle moving. I get the vehicle stopped on the side of the road, and instantly put it in park along with the parking brake and shut the vehicle off. The vehicle would not start or crank, just a flash across all of the electronics, the lights go dark, then illuminate again as if normal. This is an extremely dangerous situation, the vehicle had not notified me that the motor had stopped turning; not a check engine light or ring at all, and shortly after that the power brakes stop working. This is very dangerous for motorists because of the lack of notification from the vehicle, and the incredibly weak breaking ability. If the vehicle had been moving at highway speeds, any sort of traffic, I could've ended up injured or dead, and even worse, killed another driver. The vehicle was towed to the nearest town where it would be inspected by a dealership; they reported to have found coolant in the oil and that the vehicle needed a new motor. No other details have been confirmed, and the problem has not been reproduced by the dealership. It is unknown if the dealership inspected the braking system.
Please allow submission of additional information regarding issues with my 2013 Ford Taurus police interceptor. As stated on the previous complaint filed on 1/9/2024, I got my car service at autonation Ford service center on 12/16/2023, and I brought it back to the service center on Saturday, 12/23/2023 because of the car’s poor performance and engine had laminated on 12/17/2023. I went to pick up the car on Thursday 12/28/2023 in the morning, the Ford representative said the car is fine, and there is nothing wrong with the car. I say thank you and drive off. So, I am driving the car for about 5 minutes, it feels sluggish. Then the engine light comes on, I make a u turn and return the car to autonation Ford for service. As things stand now, my car is still autonation Ford service center, due to the defects which are causing poor performance while driving the 2013 Ford Taurus police interceptor, issues such rough steering, bad ignition switch, and braking issue. Per my previous statement, I drove the car for about on 12/28/2023, it felt extremely sluggish. The hard shifting in vehicle, and steering wheel was rough . The brakes have more issues than normal. The engine light came on.

I’m not having any success with my local Ford dealership or with Ford customer service getting my car covered under the customer satisfaction program. I have fuel system issues, I need to replace both cats and 2 bad sensors, halfshaft, fuel system, and braking issues. The dealership said to contact Ford and Ford says it’s the dealership’s problem. If they don’t fix it, I’m done with Ford. If they can’t stand behind their products and their dealerships won’t help the customers, then my loyalty is done. I’ve already had to replace a poorly designed ptu at my expense and now this, buyer beware on interceptors. Let’s hope I don’t have any other issues. No one seems to be willing to help and I’m beyond frustrated with this experience.
Every couple weeks when driving slowly around a corner, the brakes will all of a sudden come on & stop my car. If I had anyone behind me, I would have had several collisions, by now. My mechanic has looked at the brakes, wheels, etc. , & cannot find the problem. I am very concerned about this defect. Please help!.

The contact owns a 2006 Ford Taurus. The contact stated that while his daughter was driving at an undisclosed speed and attempting to make a left turn, the vehicle inadvertently lost motive power before stalling. The vehicle continued to roll forward before the driver was able to bring the vehicle to a complete stop. Upon restarting the vehicle, the vehicle returned to normal functionality; however, the contact stated that failure reoccurred three additional times. No warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, who diagnosed a failure with the braking system. The vehicle was not repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related the failure to NHTSA campaign number: 22v413000 (power train). The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 165,000.

Airbags failed to deploy in a right front collision with a deer. Banged head off steering wheel. Geico repaired over 8000 in damage. Took 19 days to repair.
My 2011 Ford Taurus has had so many repairs out of pocket expenses and if I purchased another warranty package doubt it would cover my issues past and present. 69,000 th miles. Throttle bottle and pedal replacement $ 852. 79 replaced on February 14, 2023. Mechanic tried to fix it but the error code is the large blue wrench and check engine light still on. Have to bring it in at the end of the month to my Ford dealer as they are so booked up and I have read all the Ford recalls. When I start the car the break pedal is to the floor, it revs up and when I place the shift in drive it wants to take off by itself at a rapid speed. I then shut the car off and it makes a big thump. It takes me three tries to start it up again but looses power where I have to put my emergency flashes on. This incident is so dangerous. Ford should have done a recall there are so many complaints ! I was going to disconnect my battery and connect it again to see if that works but I don’t want to erase the codes. My Ford dealership is so busy that they could only give me an appointment at the end of the month. As I stated my vehicle is inoperable as it sits until the end of the month to get serviced again.

Severely rusted brake line to the driver side real brake ruptured and caused loss of brake function and emptying of the single brake fluid reservoir. I cannot currently find the ruptured line segment, but a portion of the other rear brake line was similarly rusted prompting preventative repair. Fortunately, my wife was driving at low speed and was able to maneuver the car into a parking spot. An employee at the o'reilly store where I bought replacement parts thought the state of the ruptured line meant that it came from a 1980s model vehicle rather than a 2007 model. No one in an official capacity has inspected the brake line. My wife did not report nor have I observed any brake warning lamps during my repairs (the brake lamp does illuminate when the parking brake is engaged). Rusting occurred due to trapped road debris in a brake line support tray under driver's seat. I will include a photograph of the removed tray and a brake line portion that came from it. Close inspection of the photograph can see the debris and rust in the tray and significant rust on the non-failed brake line also restrained in it. I will also include a (scanned) receipt from o'reilly documenting the repair parts and date.

With the car on when stopping the brakes are fading. When depressing the brakes they go all the way down to the bottom slowly.
Was involved in a accident anti lock brakes did not engage prior to accident as the tires locked up when pressing on the brakes resulting in the accident . The accident happened on a interstate highway while in motion.
While driving my 2009 Ford Taurus 83,000m the breaks hard stop on its own, it was hard enough that if me and my passenger was not wearing our seat belts it would have smashed his face into the dash and my face into my steering wheel, we were on a side street turning left and as I was accelerating the breaks hard stopped on its own. The other time the breaks hard stopped was while turning right once again accelerating and almost got rear ended on a very busy main street. There was a time I was driving and my car completely shut down/off on its own I was driving 40mph I had to put it in neutral and start it again while the car was still going over 35mpr. I have had this car less than six months there is no warning light on it is very dangerous please fix. Thank you.
It presented a series of missed fired and over heating on the road , after driving around 150 miles , the engine leaking oil and it loss power make it on safe to drive . The air conditioning system is iced up like a fridge and less cooling in an over whole look the car need safety control and all of this can clearly seen on the city road way .

I was approaching a very busy intersection and when I applied my brakes the car actually accelerated. I was able to stop before hitting the vehicle in front of me. I proceeded about a mile down the road and as I was turning into a strip mall the vehicle suddenly accelerated again. This time out of control. I when through the turn and hit a large curb and then ran into the guard rail. I ripped the guard rail off and still proceeded for an additional 150 feet on the grass before the vehicle finally came to a complete stop. It scared the hell out of me.
My brake booster is causing oil to get in my hose causing my car problems like my engine cutting off while in drive and my car can barely stop when I press the brakes I have to press them literly all the way to the floor.
Tl the contact owns a 2008 Ford Taurus x. While driving approximately 65 mph in traffic, the contact attempted to slow the vehicle down, but the brake pedal traveled to the floorboard when it was depressed. The vehicle was finally able to stop. The failure began on approximately July 3, 2019 and was occurring daily. The vehicle was not taken to an independent mechanic or a dealer for diagnostic testing. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 202,000.
Drove head on into a ditch the car wouldn't stop.
The brakes don't stop the car as they should normally. They take a while to stop the car.
Transmission clunks into each gear when driving slow. When brake pedal is pressed to move shifter from park, there is an alarm that is fairly loud coming from the dash. The brakes seem to work well and I have maintained my own vehicles, so there is no reason this should be wrong with the car. It has very low miles for the year and has mostly highway driving. It has been this way for months, getting progressively worse.
The contact owns a 2003 Ford Taurus. The contact stated the vehicle failed to release from park. The brake warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer where it was diagnosed the transmission needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer not notified. The failure mileage was unknown. The contact stated the failure was similar to NHTSA campaign number 04v106000 (exterior lighting).
When driving my car I have been involved in 2 wrecks because of this problem when trying to stop quickly the car does not stop the traction light comes on and the car continues to roll. I had a front end collision and my air bags never deployed I was traveling about 35-40 mph. I bought the car from jd byrider. This is not the first time this car has done this meaning stopping but the air bag deployment this is the first time. I had my kids and grandkids in the car on each time this happened and I fill if I continue driving this car with these problems something serious is going to happpen next time.
This issue occurred about 4 months ago when driving normally. Then, today we were driving up a hill and it started to accelerate without me pushing the gas pedal. The only way to get it to stop was to put it in park and turn the car off but, kept occurring when I turned the car back on. Putting it in neutral did not work. We were in the middle of our city.
As I was about to depart my home I adjusted the brake and gas pedal when I pressed brakes to start car pedal went to floor. I started and tried again same results. Released hood to check issue and noted a pool of brake fluid under car. Luckily this happen before departure as I would have be take the expressway shortly. Southgate Ford would not give me the broken line and said that it need to go to Ford since this was a warranty issue.

2010 Ford Taurus. Consumer writes in regards to unintended vehicle acceleration. Consumer also states that the brakes and steering wheel would not work. The consumer stated the vehicle accelerated and flew through 5 lanes of traffic, hit a high curb and crashed into a parked car.
While stopped at a stop light (depressing the brake), the vehicle lunged forward and rpm kept high. Rpm went to normal in few seconds. It often happens (1 of 10 times depressing brake), yesterday mornig the car lost power on free way (vechicle speed was not able to pass 40 mph), it backed normal in the afternoon. Sent the car to garage, it can be repeated by shift to d, depressing both gas and brake pedals, quickly release gas pedal.
(sent to Ford) this letter serves to inform you of a serious mechanical defect. I drive a 2007 Ford Taurus sel (1fafp56u47a218076) with approximately 162,500 miles. The car is in good shape and has regular maintenance. We also own a Ford mustang, Ford focus, and Ford f-150. We have been regular Ford customers for years. Today I drove my car on the interstate for a few minutes before something was apparently very wrong. I sped up to merge with traffic and suddenly the car continued accelerating, even with my foot off the gas. I used the brake to slow down a bit, but it would not slow down enough. From there I began having a panic attack. I wasn't sure if I could get out of traffic without hitting someone and off the exit ramp. Without going into all the details, I managed to use the exit lane and somewhat safely stop the car at an abandoned gas station. Upon trying to bring the car to a full stop, I used the parking brake and put the car in park. The engine roared and the rpms skyrocketed to 4,000 before I was able to turn the car off. Had this not been a Monday early afternoon without much traffic on a sunny day, I don't know if this story would have ended as well. I truly feared for my life and those on the road with me. It is clear after the fact that the cruise control linkage came off. (I have never used the cruise control in this car, including today. ) looking at this I cannot imagine how Ford could design something so clearly designed to fail. When the gas is pushed, possibly in excess to enter a busy interstate, the plastic assembly is pushed to the point that it will eventually fail. I demand a full investigation of this so that no one else's life will be endangered as mine was today. I have yet to fully recover this highly emotional event. I would appreciate a copy of your investigative findings.
Tl the contact owns a 2008 Ford Taurus x. While the vehicle was idling at a red light, it independently accelerated without warning. The contact stated that the brake pedal was depressed, but the vehicle failed to stop. The contact placed the gear shifter in neutral to stop the vehicle. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic, but no diagnostic failure codes were found and the failure could not be duplicated. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified and advised the contact to take the vehicle to a Ford dealer. The vehicle was taken to Ford Lincoln of cookeville (1600 interstate dr, cookeville, TN 38501, (931) 284-4509), but no diagnostic failure codes were found. The failure could not be duplicated, but the battery was replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 94,000.
