4 Windshield problem of the 2012 Ford Taurus

Failure Date: 11/24/2011

2012 Taurus the headlights on the 2012 Taurus have a very sharp short cutoff that limits visibility greatly. This can only be experienced on a highway or back road where there is no back lights or other vehicles present. The cutoff projects a black line that floats up and down on the windshield that is hypnotic. If there was a bike or person walking ahead on the shoulder you would never see them in time. This problem is caused by a eyelid that drops down over the bulb when in the dim mode. When using the brights, the lights are fine. Because of oncoming traffic you cannot always use your bright setting. Luckily I own another vehicle so I can drive that one at night until Ford comes up with fix for this problem.

6 Windshield problem of the 2008 Ford Taurus

Failure Date: 12/15/2009

Ford Taurus x 2008 sel the date entered is approximate, as this situation happened last winter and now this winter whenever the temperature is below 10 degrees f. The Taurus x is a good vehicle except for a very serious safety concern. The windshield fluid will not work when the temperature falls below about 10 degrees f. This causes a very serious safety situation on the highway and interstate when snow or road spray, salt, etc. Causes reduced visibility on the windshield. This is not due to the fluid itself, but is a flaw in the little sprayer apparatus. We have owned Fords for many years and have never experienced this problem on any other model. Ford told me it is a new manufacturer of these parts and that it isn't a problem----trying to blame it on the fluid freezing, but this is not the situation as the same fluid does not freeze in the other vehicles. This should be a safety recall. It is now the second winter I have been experiencing this situation.

33 Windshield problem of the 2003 Ford Taurus

Failure Date: 01/11/2006

I own a 2003 Ford Taurus ses. It has always had a front window water leak, however in the last few months the leak has made the vehicle impossible to drive when the weather is inclement. The VIN of this Taurus is 1fafp5su33g123307. Today I had the windshield removed and the glass installer told me that the reason the windshield leaked is that there was no adhesive at both of the bottom corners of the glass, and that this allowed the water to enter the cabin area. It was so bad that during the last few weeks, there would be water dripping from the lower parts of the dash board and the water had filled the heater fan housing, frozen and made the fan totally inoperable. This is definitely a safely issue as the fan was totally inoperable and would not allow the DE-fogging of the windshield.

34 Windshield problem of the 2002 Ford Taurus

Failure Date: 12/18/2005

My 2002 Ford Taurus had water in the front passenger side floor board. We couldn't explain how it got there. We checked everywhere - nothing. Then, our defrost and air conditioning system only worked on high. Just recently, nothing works. The blower or fan stopped putting any air out. I started doing some research and a ton of consumers are having the same problem with their Fords as well. Each one described exactly what went wrong with my vehicle -- water on the passenger side front floor board and their ac/defrost system only working on high or not at all.
