Windshield Problems of Ford Taurus - part 2

Car has a faulty windshield installation as described in recall number 03v087000. There is excess wind noise and squeaks and rattles at speed, and the window leaks on the passenger side during heavy rain and in the car wash. The local Ford dealerships have been unresponsive, as they claim the VIN number does not appear in their system as being eligible for this recall.

2002 Ford Taurus, the consumer stated she purchased the vehicle used. She did a car fax report before buying the vehicle and all the maintenance that had been done was done by the Ford motor company. This car has Ford motor parts on it. When it rains it leaks into the passenger floor board. The water was about one inch deep in the floor board yesterday. The consumer called the dealer where she purchased the vehicle from and they said there was no recall. The consumer had her insurance company to see if there was any recalls. They told the consumer there was the recall number is 03v087000. This recall was on the windshield, leaking. There were also two other recalls numbers 04v106000 service brakes wiring and 02v266000 brake pedal. The consumer wanted to know why her vehicle was not included in the recall.

Windshield hazy, cloudy looking while driving. Cleaned windshield thinking it was dirty or hazed over from road dust. This was not noticeable from outside the vehicle, however very noticeable from inside the vehicle.

The windshield has a glare. The glare mirrors the dashboard onto the windshield. There is a light tint, but the consumer says one can not tell that there is. The dealer said they could not correct the problem, it was manufactured that way. No corrections or repairs have been made at this time. The consumer has taken the vehicle to the Ford dealer for this , and they simply said they could not do anything about it.

Rear window to 2005 Taurus shattered while driving.

There is water on the front floor, mainly passenger side after a rain. The dealer says that my Taurus is not a part of any recall. Nhtsa campaign id number: 03v087000 states that 2002-2003 Taurus are affected. My windshield, apparently is leaking, but my VIN # does show up as part of the recall. The vehicle was purchased used but has not been involved in any accidents. The dealer has only offered to repair the problem for a fee.

In heavy rain storms water leaked from the windshield. There was squeaking and rattling. Consumer stated that she had not heard wind noise. Recall 03vo87000 was issued.

When driving the vehicle in the rain the windshield would leak rain into the vehicle. The consumer had made contact with the dealership about this issue.

The consumer received a recall notice in April 2003 for the windshield. The windshield was scratched,d crooked, leaked water and the clips fell off. Please fill in additional information. Windshield develops a leak passenger side. I've had the blower motor repaired and the windshield re-sealed but is leaking again. Water puddles in the passenger floor. Heater looses heat when blower speed is turned up, think this may be related to water issue as well. Hope something can be done the windshield is getting loose and dangerous.

Front windshield is slanted too much, it is impossible to wash window, and in sunny weather, reflection is bad. Because of the way it's slanted consumer can hardly see. When anything is on dashboard, windshield turns into a mirror, making it impossible to see. Consumer states that when it rains, the water beads on the windows.

I have had this part on order since April 2000. It is becoming a safety hazard not beeing able to see out of my rear window while driving in the endless thunderstorms the east coast has recently been experiencing.

My windshield has developed a haze between the lamenation and glass, as diagnosed by the dealer. The only solution was to replace the window. This condition makes the view severely blurred when oncoming headlights and/or sun is involved. It is much like shining light through a prism. Glass on a vehicle should last the lifetime of the vehicle, and not go bad. This creates a serious visual hazard. I would hope that this warrants an investigation to provide consumers like myself some sort of replacement/recall option. Further, if a windshield cannot withstand the test of time, I have lost faith in its integrity during an accident. To say the least, Ford has produced a "lemon" product, as again. . . Glass should not go bad.

When letting the driver's side window down a little, the window will go all the way down, and consumer has to press a button to get windows back up.

In the early morning and evening, the light tan dashboard reflects on the windshield which may cause visual difficulty and may result in an accident. Please provide further information.

Owner noticed 12 inch crack in windshield of park vehicle. Driving at approx. 5 mph, heard loud pop followed by a 13 inch crack in windshield.
