1 Engine Oil Leaking problem of the 2007 GMC Acadia

Failure Date: 08/31/2018

Our vehicle only has 86k miles and the rack and pinion is leaking heavily. The dealer stated that this is a known issue, but it is out of warranty. Sometimes, the power steering cuts out and it is very difficult to move the steering wheel. We believe that this imposes serious risk while driving and the problem can happen at any time. There is no repeatable scenario to demonstrate the failure. It is random. The front engine cover also leaks oil heavily. The dealer also stated this is a known issue. This could result in rapid engine oil loss and engine failure while driving. I took the vehicle to the dealer yesterday for inspection. Unfortunately no pictures were taken, but their two technicians inspected the vehicle and agreed on the known issues. The service advisor also agreed on the known issues. I inquired about gm helping with these known issues, but the dealer stated that their district aftersales manager was not kind or helpful and would revert to general motor's online goodwill calculator. He accessed the online system which determined my vehicle was out of warranty and/or coverage and that there was no goodwill available to use for my vehicle. We're not looking for goodwill, but rather for gm to repair these high risk product failures. Since these components wear with use, not time, we feel that with our low usage, these components should not have failed.

2 Engine Oil Leaking problem of the 2011 GMC Acadia

Failure Date: 09/15/2016

My vehicle has 136,000 miles and the timing chain is out, I have had to have the front passenger axle repaired, there is an oil leak. I had the vehicle checked while under warranty because the check engine light would come on, the service department said it was because the gas cap wasn't tightened. Now I have no warranty and the timing chain needs replaced. The first day I drove my vehicle the brake system failed, it was brand new. It had had several recalls.

3 Engine Oil Leaking problem of the 2012 GMC Acadia

Failure Date: 01/26/2016

Timing gear cover on front of engine leaks oil. It happens after every use and appears to be a widespread issue with the 3. 6l v6 engines on the GMC Acadia, chevery traverse and Buick enclave. The seal on the front engine fails and lets the oil out of the engine. If not caught, oil pours into the engine posing a fire and control hazard.
