"takata recall" on Tuesday June 19 I had pulled into my driveway just before my garage with my two small children. I put the car in park and got out to unload and prepare to transfer my one kid and then the other. It was 100 degree weather so had to keep the car running. After a minute or so being in park, my car began to drive forward with no one behind the wheel. My car drove off my retaining wall and landed vertically with my children suspended in their car seats. Emergency officials responded. I have video and will hold off fixing the damage of vehicle so that the feds can investigate. GMC also would like to take a look at it. Please let me know where to submit my security footage.

While driving at interstate speeds in 90+ degree weather, the 2008 GMC Acadia experienced a complete loss of power. Engine quit along with all electronics, power steering and power brakes. Let car sit for 20 minutes and it started up and drove fine for a week or so then the same issue occurred again. This has happened 3 times within 5 weeks. The vehicle has been into an independent mechanic and two dealerships. Of those dealerships, we have taken the vehicle to the local autonation GMC dealer 3 times over the course of 2 weeks and all groups who have looked at the vehicle stated that they could not find and "codes" after running the computer diagnostics. We have requested an on-board diagnostic computer to be ordered from autonation GMC park meadows (CO) but have received no response. This is a very dangerous issue while driving at highway and interstate speeds. Have researched other consumers with the same situation on the NHTSA website.

First happened at 75000 with engine and electrical system shut down. Doors don't work and radio/bluetooth works when it wants too. Exposed wires got fixed because of moisture. Steering power failure at low speed and emergency maneuvers. The dealerships cant fix it although they know its the steering pump. At 93000 a systemic failure of electrical systems again. New dealer fixed supposedly the wires again, still exposed. The car electrical does not perform over 76 degrees outside temperature. Power steering is a problem and getting worse. Finding that there are more problems with power steering from 2013 and lower models.

Multiple problems with this vehicle. It has been in the shop more than 10 times in the past 4 years that I have owned it, frustrating. List of repairs: timing belt, head lights, steering, camshaft, oil leak, struts, brakes and this is what I can recall mostly. This vehicle has had multiple services especially for service stability track that never gets repaired, they can't find the problem. Also service air bag keeps coming on but dealership cannot do anything while the light is not on. Very frustrated with this vehicle. I have never experienced so many repairs and services with any other vehicle as I have the Acadia. I owned a galant car before the Acadia for 5 years and only had to do one repair in those 5 years I owned it. I regret purchasing this vehicle! I am a single mother of two and I need a dependable vehicle not one that is malfunctioned!.
