1 Fuel Hoses Lines/piping And Fittings problem of the 2005 GMC Envoy

Failure Date: 07/21/2011

Problem with severe fluctuations of fuel guage. Research shows your ongoing investigation # is dp10001. Upon filling tank to aprox. ¾ tank the guage suddenly started going wild and within 1 mile of driving the "check engine light" appeared. After investigating numerous on-line resources it is clear that this problem is not only limited to this vehicle but is a serious problem in the gm lineup. Dealership repair costs are estimated in the $800. 00 to $1000. 00 range. This is unacceptable for a problem that gm knows to exist yet refuses to take any unalateral action on.

2 Fuel Hoses Lines/piping And Fittings problem of the 2004 GMC Envoy

Failure Date: 06/08/2011

Own a 2004 GMC Envoy and I have problems with the fuel gauge and the odometer. The fuel gauge goes past the f line when the vehicle is not on fuel. Also the odometer will stop working or get stuck on 10-15 mph. He happens often. . . Every other day. I was told that it would cost 1400 to fix and a possibility it may not fix the problem.

4 Fuel Hoses Lines/piping And Fittings problem of the 2004 GMC Envoy

Failure Date: 10/08/2010

2004 GMC Envoy 6-cyl 2wd with ~172,000 miles. Check engine light was due to evap leak in the fuel system. Smoke check at the mechanics resulted in visible smoke exiting the filler neck of the fuel tank (not the filler neck from the gas line). New fuel tank (dealer part only!) is ~$900 from dealer to dealer. Plus labor.

5 Fuel Hoses Lines/piping And Fittings problem of the 2004 GMC Envoy

Failure Date: 09/10/2010

I purchased a 2004 GMC Envoy xuv and have several significant problems with this vehicle. After researching it seem others have had the same troubles. Since we owned the vehicle, the rear window is found down and noone was even in/near the vehicle. It continues to work but still will go down by itself. A year ago I had to replace the fuel tank, this was right after we took it in for inspection on a recall of smelling gas fumes while driving and possible corrosion in fuel lines. Of course the fuel lines were not corroded so we were told. I footed the bill $800+ to get a new fuel tank ,as neck on tank was cracked and was told that this is why we smelled gas. Luckily, I went to my garage and saved several hundred dollars from the dealers cost to repair. Last weekend 9/10/10 my family was driving to town and the middle window unexpectedly dropped and now does not work. I researched an it seems to be a regulator issue and will cost around $500, wow! over the last two weeks there is a rattle when we turn on our ac. Again after we were in for service as we had the ac charged at the start of summer. I can see where I have the same troubles as a lot of others and feel, the same as they do, left holding the bag by GMC and no way out but, to look for a new/used vehicle and get rid of this vehicle.

6 Fuel Hoses Lines/piping And Fittings problem of the 2007 GMC Envoy

Failure Date: 05/07/2010

About one month ago, after I filled the gas tank in my 2007 GMC Envoy, the gas meter would shift from f to e as I was driving and the light would come on. I would pull over to the side of the road, turn it off and back on. At that time, the meter would raise back up to the f but as I am driving again, it would drop back down and the empty indicator light would come on again. It has been doing this for a month now and I was even stuck on the side of the road once, njdot came to give me gas, thinking that was the problem, and the car still would not start. Had to get it towed to a gas station, where it then started and I was able to make it home. The car also hesitates (drags) when I'm trying to give it gas, as if it's going to cut off. I was told it was a clogged fuel line and will have it checked but this can cost me $600-800 that seems to be a problem with these trucks. I have read many stories from others who have the same vehicle.

7 Fuel Hoses Lines/piping And Fittings problem of the 2007 GMC Envoy

Failure Date: 04/05/2010

Fule gage shows empty. Same also occured on my 2006 Envoy. Gm will not repair either Envoy unless I pay approx $600. I would like to see a recall and the parts used to last. Safty is also a concern as check light goes on and off and you have to estimate fule used. I see on line that this is a problem for gm. Has gm improved this fuel sender?.

8 Fuel Hoses Lines/piping And Fittings problem of the 2006 GMC Envoy

Failure Date: 03/18/2010

Driving to work at 5 am about 3/4 of mile from home, auto slowed, headlights deemed slightly, rpm's fell. Barely able to coast auto to side of road. Call for roadside assistance. While talking to agent I open door and smelled gasoline. Agent informed me to call fire department to ensure auto safe to move. Fire department arrived and said fuel was still dripping from auto, but they did spread something on fuel and waited until rollback removed auto. Auto was taken to gm dealer for repairs. When notified of repair completion I went to dealership. They told me I must have ran over something that pulled fuel line off, and that it was a 1 in a million event. I did not run over anything so I did not believe this statement. I research and found other have had same problem. I am worried because on the repair ticket it states customer states gas leaking as soon as the key turned was on, checked and found quick connect line pulled apart in front of fuel tank. Reconnected line all checks good at this time. I did not state fuel was leaking as soon as key was turned on. I was driving and almost unable to get auto to roadside. Very dangerous and if the only repair was to reconnect a line that had fallen off, it seems very likely to happen again.

10 Fuel Hoses Lines/piping And Fittings problem of the 2006 GMC Envoy

Failure Date: 12/01/2009

It seems that my vehicles fuel sending unit is defective after only 40,000 miles and through further investigation I found there are many other owners of this line of vehicles that are experiencing this identical problem. I have been told that it will cost over 800. 00 to repair this with no guarantee that it won't happen again. I think this problem should be recalled as most owners of this vehicle are quite upset that they have to pay out of pocket for this defective part to be replaced.

11 Fuel Hoses Lines/piping And Fittings problem of the 2007 GMC Envoy

Failure Date: 02/27/2009

Sending unit inside of gas tank: when full of gas, gauge says below empty & gas light comes on. When 7/8 full to almost empty gas gauge reads correct, when empty gas gauge reads 2nd to last line, car runs out of gas & no gas light comes on. When you are driving at 50 mph and run out you could crash. When car is parked for 4+min. Gauge goes below empty & fuel light comes on.

12 Fuel Hoses Lines/piping And Fittings problem of the 2002 GMC Envoy

Failure Date: 07/08/2008

I own a 2003 GMC Envoy XLT service engine light is on returned the vehicle to the dealer and was told this is a cracked fuel tank. Dealer showed me where the fuel was leaking it was leaking on a weld that attaches the filler hose to the fuel tank. This certainly isn't a wearable part and it doesn't receive much corrosion due to being a florida car. There are many forums on the internet and many vehicle owners that have the same problem. I would think that a fuel leak may lead to extremely hazardous situation for all motor vehicle owners. I understand an investigation has been raised and closed. It is unfair that gm manufactures a fuel tank that could be a risk to its consumers. This case needs to be revisited and reopened.

- the contact owns a 2003 GMC Envoy. The headlights, dashboard, and tail lights flashed randomly at any speed, this failure started in October of 2006. The weather and time of day were not factors in the failure. The dealership said that the failure was normal. There were tsbs for the failure, as well as for several others. The fuel neck had been replaced twice due to a design change. The seal around the licenses place holder came loose and had to be replaced. The brake pedal was squeaking, the contact took vehicle for service on three occasions, and replaced the serpentine belt twice, an airbag sensor, the rear wiper arm, the oxygen sensor twice ,the first time at 7000 miles. There were cruise control failures, when the contact tried to accelerate it hesitated and then surged. The weather stripping on the rear doors has been repaired three times. The abs would skip on a bumpy road and would not engage. The rear door hinges squeaked. This winter it won't go to full voltage until a minute elapsed after the vehicle has been started. The original failure mileage was 3829, and the current mileage was 23700. The brakes were inoperative, the belts squeaked, there was a problem with the abs, the air bag light illuminated, the cruise control didn't work properly, the rear wiper would only wipe the middle of the back windshield.
