Fuel gauge eratic after warranty expired. Knew it would be expensive repair. Lived on resetting trip odometer every 200 miles and would fill up. This inconvenience lasted two years until constant audio and visual low fuel signals. Ended up paying $450 for repair. Completely confident that gm knew the original was faulty.
Prob #1 driving down street rear door came open and wouldn't close. Already replaced the door latch on pass rear door. If I had children in the car this would've been extremely dangerous. Talking to others this is not an isolated incident. Problem #2 fuel gauge just stop working, low fuel light beeps constantly. Never know how much fuel is in car. Cost to replace over $500!.
The fuel gauge on my 2004 GMC Envoy is not working.
#1 problem-- I only have 40,000 miles on my car and bought it less than a year ago. My fuel tank does not work-- it floats and I never know how much gas I have in my tank #2 problem- driving home last night-- I looked down at my speedometer and it was stuck over 120 mph. I am very unhappy with GMC and tell everyone I know never to buy any chevy vehicles-- these problems should not be happening so soon on a newer vehicle.
The gas gauge on our 2005 GMC Envoy xl has stopped working again. It was fixed once under warranty and now it has happened again. To think this is not a safety issue is a mistake.
The fuel gauge went out on my 2005 GMC Envoy. It just quit working. I took it to the dealership we purchased the vehicle from and it had to be replaced to the tune of $481.
Right after the warranty ran out on my 05 GMC Envoy the gas gauge started beeping when you would fill up the tank. Then it started to not read full when it was filled. Now it never reads full and when the tank is half empty the light will come on. It will always beep when I first start it. This unit should not have went out after 36,000 miles. This is a faulty unit and I believe the manufacturer should replace it. If I was to replace it myself it would cost me over $500. 00 . Terrible product terrible product that should be investigated.
Right after purchasing. Engine light has been on. Purchased in June/2006, with 40,000miles. 1yr after the rpm gauge quit working, right afterwards, the fuel gauge started messing up, going back & forth, then went out completely, battery/oil gauges are out now. The seat belt lights/airbag lights bing constantly & does not tighten up when put on brakes. When this happens the check gauges light comes on, and at the same time I have difficulty getting it in gear. I am also having trouble setting my cruise control.
Reported earlier gas odometer broke when fueling vehicle on 2 seperate occassions, first time fixed, then again while fueling gas, it broke. Failed to mention my problems with the speedodometer. It was fluctuating all the way up, then all the way down irratically before it dropped down to the middle.
1) in both instances while pumping fuel. 2) gas gauge began to move erratically while driving. 3) first time the fuel level sensor was replaced by dealer, the second instance we were advised to use fuel additive and higher grade of gas, no difference has been detected.
Rpm gauge shows I am at 7000 rpm when stopped at idle. While driving the gauge moves backwards, to a negative ramp number, below the zero. Went to shop today and couldn't fix it. Will go back to dealership next week to attempt to fix the problem.
Fuel pump module (fuel sending unit) corrodes and leaks fuel. And give faulty reading at the gas reading gauge. Not able to check if tank is empty.
Fuel gauge does not work. This is very bad as my wife ran out of gas not knowing she was out. Took place in a bad part of town.
1. Started with horn honking on its own, radio turning on and off and heating and cooling turning on and off and battery being drained. Dealer replaced 2 batteries. 2. Stabilitrak warning light would intermittently come on and say it needed serviced. 3. Gas gauge started malfunctioning after a fill up. Needle would fluctuate and eventually remain on e. Was told by dealer it was either the fuel level sensor or instrument panel. 4. Vehicle started to jerk forward when sitting at stop light. Jerks are strong enough that you feel like you were rear ended. Then started noticing the jerks while driving at highway speed. 5. Oil gauge began fluctuating from high to low. Was again told it was a bad instrument panel . 6. Rear air suspension began deflating when vehicle would sit for long periods of time. Low enough that tires almost touch top of wheel well. Compressor would come on and rear end would come back up to normal. Now it deflates over short periods of time and takes a considerably longer amount of time to reinflate. I am now noticing that it is deflating some while driving. If you hit a bump you can feel the tire hit the top of wheel well. Dealer could not explain the jerking. Was told there was probably an electrical problem causing things to come on and off. Fuel gauge is being replaced free as a defective part. Was told rear suspension was most likely a dead compressor and tires could possibly rub or blow out if suspension deflates while driving.

I have had a intermittent rumbling sound in the drivers compartment like the doors are not closed properly. I have checked doors closed but yet it still happens. Took back to dealership and they could not find a problem. The fuel gauge is reading incorrectly, at a half a tank of fuel the gas hand will intermittently move up or down. Also Nov. 2006 a high pitch squeal from the front of vehicle while driving between 1 and 40 mph.

Gas gauge was 1/4 tank off, returned to dealer to fix problem after running out of gas. Dealer replaced float/sender. Returned to dealer one hour later after attempting to fill tank with fuel and fuel poured out of top of tank. Dealer then claimed the fuel tank was defective and distorted by the factory, ordered new tank, replaced same. All is working now.
