There are previously fixed recalls starting to pop up one at a time if they were fixed they wouldnt be back causing problems can someone check into this and let me know something I drive a 02 GMC Envoy slt 4x4 4. 2l. The mileage is unknown due to instrument cluster not working on the dic settings. I purchased under the pretenses it only had 188000 miles but ive seen higher milage on some shop records also the center console lid dont latch and other things I cant think of at the moment.

I am smelling fuel in and around the truck with no visual signs of fuel on the ground.

The transmission started to slip, noticed it starting to have issues getting up to proper speed without slipping and trying to stall, and was told by previous owner whom I'm purchasing it from that there is a possible issue with the transfer case as well, as it engages it's 4 wheel drive without me touching it, tried to service the transmission and put fresh fluid and a new filter in to see if it would help and now it can only go as fast as 40 to 55 before it starts to slip pretty bad. I have a baby on the way due in the next couple weeks and with it slipping and dropping speed it can cause me to end up getting hit and I don't want to put mine, my child, or any of my other passengers in danger.

Steering wheel locks. It cannot be turned to the right as it will cause the entire care to swerve. When reversing the car turns in the opposite direction of where you are turning. I'm backing into traffic and have to manually pull the steering wheel as if there is a power steering issue. Engine light came on day after purchase indicating I need catalyst converter and sensor. No way to predict which way the car will turn. If I hit a bump the car swerves to the right causing me to swerve into next lane. In motion I am constantly swerving into danger.

The initial time (3/14) it occurred, I was out of town with my family, embarrassed to say the least. However, mainly uncomfortable, tired, and frustrated because my 87 years old dad was stranded for hours as well as my 66 years old sister who is recovering from cancer. This problem was a serious problem because of our location. We had gone to get dinner and ice cream after getting ice cream we back in the vehicle for it would not start. I called 911 no police ever showed nor would even stop to assist. After 2 1/2 hours, we contacted a church member to find out about a mechanic in the area that could possibly come check it out. Another church member came to check it first, by now 3 hours have lapsed and the vehicle starts. After this it has happened on three (3) separate occasions with me (3/19, 3/20, & 3/21) but my mechanic said it happened with him 3 or 4 times while he was driving it to check it out and while it was sitting just running not being driven. I was on the interstate once, once driving, and once parked and it would not start. The times I was by myself once was on the interstate, another was going through an intersection, and once was in a high crime area where I felt very unsafe for my vehicle and myself. My mechanic replaced the crankshaft and camshaft sensors and the problem persists. I had a diagnostic test performed but was told the items listed on the test �may� be the problem. I have also had a problem with it accelerating while driving as if the gas is not distributing properly. It was as if it was choking up as if there was a clog. A dangerous place to be in traffic or going across a railroad track, which it has occurred several times with me. I actually was almost rear ended on the interstate.

The fuel level sensor is malfunctioning giving me erroneous high and low readings. I noticed in August 2011, gm issued a special coverage for this exact problem, however it was only good for 10 yrs or 120,000 miles. My Envoy is 11-1/2 yrs old, but only has approx. 87,500 miles on it. Seeing this is an obviously safety issue which has led to at least 1 known accident, I would like to know if there is anyway that you can help me get gm to extend the coverage to my Envoy? my Envoy also recently had a special coverage initiated for the headlamp driver module (hdm). I was able to get that fixed because gm issued the coverage for a total of 12 years and 150,000 miles. So the precedent has been set to provide coverage for a vehicle my age. My accident was may 25th 2018, my back passenger went off of a soft shoulder throwing me into 2 trees, I hit first one and seatbelt came apart but still over one shoulder hitting second tree and only thing that saved me was my right foot was under the brake and not on it, I hit my head on windshield causing me to have vision problems, severe whiplash, and rsd in right leg, I have to have cane, walker, or powerchair, my husband wants a divorce bc of my depression, my kids get fustrasted bc I forget I said something and I continue to repeatedly say thing, I never had none of this wrong with me till this accident and monique hill in claims says none of my injuries nor my family problems have nothing to do with general motors and I didn't hit sensors, I never had a seatbelt on but if that was the case that ding sound wouldn't have stopped! my life has completely changed and I'm losing my family bc of a accident.

Strong gasoline odor. Received a notice in 2016 regarding this. Notice said no action required if there was not gasoline smell. The odor was noticed about a month ago. Called the dealer that sent the notice who told me it expired! they never said the repair would expire, but to ignore it unless I smelled gasoline. So now gasoline fumes are not dangerous??.

Vehicle was stationary and in drive when it had a uncontrolled acceleration resulting in a collision with a garage where it was being parked. Extensive damage resulted to the home and vehicle. No injuries.

At fill up gas gauge goes to full and stays there for around 20 miles, then drops to empty and stays there. This is an ongoing problem for several weeks now. Apparently this is a known issue, with the vehicle.

My husband and I were traveling when the vehicle shut off with no warning at all and all the dash board lights came on. The vehicle would not restart but would turn. This happened Saturday 9/2/17 on a country highway out in nowhere . We called a tow truck. Thank god for cellphones. On 11/12/2016 hub bearings replaced. 11/15/16 module and connector replaced and fuel level sensors and ring replaced. Three years ago a/c went out. Replaced.

The contact owned a 2005 GMC Envoy. While driving approximately 55 mph, the driver was flagged down by another driver who noticed smoke underneath the front passenger side of the vehicle. The vehicle was pulled over to the side of the road and became engulfed in flames. The police, department of public safety, and fire department arrived at the scene. The fire department extinguished the fire. Both fire and police reports were filed. There were no injuries reported. The department of public safety diagnosed that the fire was started by a fractured fuel line. The dealer and manufacturer were not contacted. The vehicle was totaled and towed to a tow yard. The failure mileage was 132,000.

The contact owns a 2003 GMC Envoy xl. The contact stated that the filler pipe was fractured and caused the bladder to leak. The contact took the vehicle to a certified mechanic who diagnosed that the bladder and filler neck needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. Hi ! as many other GMC Envoy costumer stock at the earlier 50-100 thousand milles with engine problem caused by misfire cylinder . I do a have a problem with my SUV engine the classic misfire #6 cylinder that it cost a $2000 or plus to get repair , short worlds loosing the engine . If you guys check about this issue is extremely big and horrible thousand people a cross the country dealing with this issue . I did noticed this issue just driving , I got to stop sign and the engine starts shaking and the check engine come on , after I took to a mechanic shop for diagnostic and put about $200 dollars on spark plugs and coil and noting changed I was tell by the mechanic that it was a lower compression on the 6 cylinder so bad valve .

Oil pressure sensor. I could drive a very short distance before the oil pressure would fall down to zero. The oil pressure warning light would come on and then stop engine.

The contact owns a 2004 GMC Envoy. While the vehicle was parked, an abnormal fuel odor was present on the inside and outside of the vehicle. The contact stated that there was evidence of a fuel leak coming from the fuel filler neck. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified. Vehicle has a inlet fuel leak, a known issue on the GMC Envoy xl 4x4, but has put a 150,000 mile cap on the recall which I find negligent as the issue still exist regardless of mileage, just seems like a way to worm out of responsibility.

While in motion only, a engine light accompanied by a reduced engine power engages making the vehicle unmanageable to response and cause the vehicle to stall.

The contact owns a 2005 GMC Envoy. Upon starting the vehicle, there was an abnormally strong fuel odor inside the vehicle. I was driving and my vehicle on I-985 hall county GA. My check gage light came on and less than 1/2 of a mile it start to smoke and burn as soon as I stopped turned of the ignition. It burnt to the ground from the engine area to the inside.

Stalling out in intersection,fuel gage and speed odometer ,air bags defaulting,shacking in front end , when driving. Verry dangerous.

I have notice my truck use more gas now and I'm smelling gas the gas reads low light comes on but I have gas in the truck took it to a shop and I was told all Envoys have this issue and I need to contact this company if I'm in park the truck on or riding down the road the smell of gas is loud and the gas hand moves to empty then back to where it belongs I never notice gas on the drive way or ground but when the shop puttge truck in the air you could see the leak I have being reading so many reports on the same problems from Envoys GMC vechiles on many internet sites this is my only vechile I'm on a fixed income this problem is on GMC.

The contact owns a 2002 GMC Envoy 360. The contact received notification of a manufacturer special coverage adjustment (campaign number 07099) for the fuel system. The dealer was unable to obtain the part from the manufacturer who indicated that it was not in production. The contact waited an extended period of time and was unable to determine when the manufacturer would produce the part to supply to the dealer for the manufacturer's remedy. The vehicle was still parked from January 2016 and was not repaired. The manufacturer provided no disclosure as to when the parts may be in production to receive the repair. The contact was not experiencing a failure.

My car will shut off when I am either turning or slowing down without any warning, I put the car in neutral, turn the key off then on again and it starts like nothing happened. The engine doesn't show any warning lights it just shuts off. This has happened now about 6 times. I don't have the money to take it to the dealer, but if I am given an idea of what to look for I can take it to my mechanic who is very qualified and did replace a sensor that went bad. Please help.

Vehicle was being driven on a two way highway at approximately 55 mph. Vehicle lost engine power while driving and the gas pedal lost resistance and went to the floor. Vehicle was steered over to the side of the road. While the vehicle was steered over to the side of the road, check engine and other dash lights started flashing chaotically. White smoke started coming from under the hood. Within a short time, white smoke turned into black smoke and then flames started to appears. The fire under the hood eventually continued to grow until it completely burned the engine compartment most of the first two rows of the interior before the firemen arrived and were able to put out the fire.

Vehicle was being driving approximately at 55 mph. Engine loss power, gas pedal lost resistance and went all the way down to the floor board. After a few minutes, the white smoke turned into black smoke and the engine caught on fire. Vehicle was engulfed in flames after a few minutes.

Vehicle loses power drastically when going up any incline. Was going 65 and speed dropped to 35 going up slight grade hill.

Voss Chevrolet, dayton, ohio, returned my Envoy to me on September 2, 2015 without repair of a dangerous malfunction threatening serious injury to me or others. It is a sudden unintended acceleration occurring over seven times sporadically from July thru August 2015 as I have slowed to a stop at a traffic intersection and also when pulling head -in to parking spaces. It can only be stopped by abruptly switching from drive gear to park or neutral. I have driven this vehicle for just over 5 years of a 12- year period while also driving my non-general motors vehicle. As well, I have driven a newly purchased vehicle since April 2014. I have owned many vehicles over the past 51 years. I bought the 2006 Envoy from voss Chevrolet as a certified vehicle,32,000 miles, in April 2010. Voss electronic monitoring confirmed the fact that the high speed acceleration actually occurred while braking, but they stated when their service person kept and drove the vehicle it did not occur. Gm (tac) advised them unintended acceleration was "impossible and the only answer" is that I must be using two- feet, holding the brake and accelerator down simultaneously. (the voss electronic camera monitor they had given me had shown an acceleration equivalent to ""80 miles per hour while braking occurred! that is also documented. ) (despite never a need to use two feet, in this SUV the left foot always rests some distance away on a foot-rest near the driver's door). I do not falsify matters. My background is one of integrity and reaching factually supported and logical conclusions arising from professional demands of a 41-year career as an attorney recently retired as a federal judge.

Vehicle intermittently stalls/stops.

The contact stated that while driving 35 mph, the vehicles check engine light and reduce power light became illuminated and the vehicle, without warning stopped accelerating even while the accelerator was being depressed. When stopped in traffic or at a stop light, my vehicle will idle roughly and sometime stall. It does this in drive, neutral and park. I've had it checked and they couldn't find anything wrong. There are no codes showing a problem.
