The fuel gage fluctuates from full to empty. You never know when your getting low on gas.
Filled SUV up at gas station. Gas gauge went to full. Proceeded out of gas station when the gas gauge went to empty, gas gauge will now not stay in one place, continues to act up and mostly stays on empty and the bell rings constantly. I am unable to determine how much fuel I have and concerned that the SUV will think its out of gas and shut off.
When I went out to start my car it wouldn't start so I took the key and my dad my be I need a jump he said no if that was the case the car wouldn't even turn over. I went back out to try it again but still nothing sio I began to turn the key back and fourth and eventually it stared. A few minutes the cigarette outlet caught on fire so I unplugged my car charger.

Smelling of gas and leaking on ground, as I'm reading this is a common problem which is very serious. I really think gm needs to include this 2003 GMC Envoy as part of their recall as well. This has been going on for years it looks like and nothing has been recalled. Guess human life is not important. Gm needs to recall this problem ASAP before someone gets hurt.
The first day we had the truck the speedometer displayed the wrong speed and has been that way. It works occasionally. Then a week later the low beam head lights went out while driving. They came back on after a few mins. This happened again a few days ago. The fuel gage is in accurate as well. I took it to a shop and they said the instrument cluster needs to be replaced but found no issues with the head lights but there is deffinately an issue with the headlights and that is very dangerous.
The contact owns a 2004 GMC Envoy. The contact noticed strong fuel fumes in and around the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to a dealer for diagnostic testing and repair. The manufacturer advised the contact to call the dealer. The failure mileage was not available.
February of 2014, gas gauge started to go haywire. After approximately 100 miles, needle of gas gauge goes to empty and low gas indicator light comes on. November of 2013, passenger air bag indicator light stays on. Does not matter if seat is empty or occupied. July 2011, right/front window regulator cable broke-replacement cost me $340. 00. At this time shop found that front differential case leaking. This was replaced at no charge. Have not owned a gm product in over 15 years, now I know why. Come on gm stand behind your products, no matter what year they were manufactured. You claim that your vehicles are on the road for years and years, really. . . Kind of hard to drive and trust a vehicle that does not function properly.

My service light came on during the summer of 2013 and diagnostics were completed stating that there was a pressure issue, then later in the fall, noticed fuel smell at time of fueling. Took car to shop to get checked, shop owner found recall for injuries demonstrated in my fuel system. Moved car to GMC dealer for official diagnostics, they stated that my car was actually a 2003, since it was sold in Dec of that year and would not be eligible. I then found a recall notice published in 2007 that included 2002 and 2003 vehicles with the initial recall. GMC told me that they did not have to cover warrantee because it was a voluntary recall(they could not explain in a satisfactory way how this affected me as a consumer). The NHTSA action # is pe07014. At the time of the symptoms, my car had less than 130,000 miles on it (as it has just 130 k on it now) and was just under 10 years old.
My car is reaping with the smell of gas on the inside and outside of the car. I called gm customer care center about this problem being hazardous and all they offered was a $150 voucher available at the GMC dealership. I am confused as to why 2006/2007 models were recalled for this matter and the 2003 model was not recalled. I am afraid to drive this car because I believe it will explode!.
I smell gas all the time when I am driving.
In March 2012 I had motor mounts installed on my 2005 GMC Envoy at the dealership jay GMC Buick columbus georgia. On August 26,2013 they are telling me I need new motor mounts because of the age of vehicle and miles they need to be replace. I guess parts are old and professional installing is old to. During this same time had a tune-up {major} and now have to have coil and plug install. This make it seem paying for professional serve is a waste of time. My fuel injector also needs cleaning again. In the future I can only expect 40,000 miles on anything fixed by dealer.
Fuel light came on, speedometer stopped working, engine cut off. Before that, the muffler started making rumbling noise. I had just fueled the vehicle. Findings by aaa: abs bad had to be replaced 1056$ and realignment. 2. Exhaust manifold and pipe replacement 400. Dont know about fuel system yet brakes /abs is 3rd time since buying the car in 2006. 2nd time for engine issues. Car started overheating on beltway this week and blower motor not working right. Also have issues with window passenger side front wont work now and rear wiper stopped working. Holy you know! think I got a lemon!.
I will cut the car on and reduced engine power light comes on and the car idols hard then cuts off while driving . I read on internet alit of gm vehicles have this problem just wondering is there a recall? also check engine light and reduced engine power light will not cut off.
Some times when the brakes are applied the throttle also advances causing unwanted acceleration. Happens at low speeds. Have there been any factory recalls for this problem?.
My 2006 GMC Envoy xl gas gauge reads empty after filling, then slowly moves up after driving but will continue to lose pressure until it reads empty and the light is on. Sometimes it will just remain on the e an the light will be on when I have gas in my vehicle.
Tl-the contact owns a 2007 GMC envyoy. The contact stated that gas fumes were emitted inside of the vehicle. The failure has continued over a period of a year. The vehicle was taken to a dealer who could not diagnosed the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 117,000. Rg.
My car is leaking gas and I. Can only put 20 or 30 dollars worth in at a time where most of it ends up on the ground. There is also a very strong gas smell. I'm taking it in to be fixed but this is obviously a problem since I just read that other owners are having this problem so there should be a recall before someone is seriously hurt my check engine light also comes on for a while and then goes off. These are problems that require a recall.
I was at a stop light and when I pressed on the gas the vehicle stalled. I had to have a tow truck come and give me gas to get me started. This is ridiculous. Now I have a check engine light on because of the stalling cause gunk to get in certain engine parts. I am extremely upset and do not think it is fair that the driver has to pay for 50%. GMC should pay for 100%. Period.
One evening I was driving on the main highway and my inside lights came on. I pulled to the side of the road to check the switch but it was on auto. I turned it off but the lights stayed on. They were still on when I got home and parked turned off the ignition the lights were still on. The next morning my car couldn't start because it had ran my battery down. Another incident was my headlights went off one night while I was drive on the highway. I am also having problems with my gas gauge. My gas light comes on like I am out of gas. The last time I fill my car up with gas it hesitated. It didn't want to start. The light stays on when my car is full of gas. I smell gas. I sat at the gas station for an our because my car didn't want to start. The sound of my radio goes in and out. My lights continue to go on and off when driving or when not driving. One morning I got up to go to work, went to start my car and the headlights were on but the switch was off. I couldn't get the lights to go off when I got to work. They stayed on at least for 4 hrs. Sometime the lights doesn't come on when I put them on. I really have some weird things go on with my vehicle. I did get the module changed and they did some re-wiring in the door. One year before the module, I got them to check my car for a short and I was told from them that my wires were over heated. I paid about $900 to fix it. I strongly think it is a detect some wheres or something that would cause my wires to over heat.
A very strong odor of gasoline is inside and outside of my car. When the car is started and being driven the smell is most heaviest. After driving and it sits, you can continue to smell the gas fumes. I took my vehicle to a certified dealership to find out the problem and a diagnostic was done. Unfortunately, I was told that the problem could not be detected. I continue to be afraid that maybe my can is going to catch on fire or explode at any time. After doing my research, I have found that there are many owners of GMC Envoys with this same problem. Some of the models have been recalled, but this issue reaches far beyond those models. All make and models with this problem should be recalled.
After driving approximately 20 miles on cruise control I tapped the brakes to disengage the cruise control. The vehicle dramatically lost power and the check engine light came on. I was able to avoid other traffic and pull over on the freeway, I then drove off the freeway on the shoulder and into the nearest gm dealer at maximum speed of approximately 30 mph. The problem was diagnosed several times resulting in rewiring of the throttle body connector and finally replacement of the throttle body after the third incident of the same issue. Loss of power and unable to proceed at more than about 30 mph.
Due to the check engine light constantly coming on I was told that I needed a new gas cap. It was stated if the cap is not on properly it affects the emission conrols. I have replaced the gas cap several times nothing has changed engine light goes on and off. There still has not been accurate justification for this matter. Vehicle has faulty / leaking air bags on the rear suspension. Upon research this has been a problem on GMC vehicles from 1994 ~ 2006. Why are there no recalls? GMC Envoy vehicle are sitting very low during freezing tempatures. Upon starting the vehicle it will rasie back up and level itself but it should not drop down low period. Websites are flooded with complaints. I have contacted GMC regarding all these issues and nothing has been done. I was told there were no recalls regarding these matters which I don't understand. I have viewed so many complaints on several websites regarding these same issues. Exterior lights~ lamps have faulty sockets due to moisture getting inside the lamps / back up lamps. Bulbs burning out continuously. Unfortunately when you take your vehicle to a frequent dealer, many times they'll step outside to check your vehicle quickly without putting you in the system if they feel no service is required. I believe this may be why these complaints are not being addressed/ reported / or recorded. It is apparent there are serious problems with these vehicles. Something needs to be done, and we should not have to deal with repeat manufacturer defects/hazards year after year. It is not fair to us (the customer). They can continually contact you to trade in your vehicle or buy it, but they can't contact you regarding defects on the vehicle. I was told they only notify the original owner of recalls. Again they'll contact you regarding marketing and advertising. Thank you in advance for your time and consideration.
We bought this vehicle 2 months ago and it is a 2007 Envoy. After doing research this vehicle has a history of the gas gauge going out of it. The dealership and GMC should be fixing this not the consumer. It is despicable that they do not consider this a safety recall. I should not have to pay half after only owning the car for 2 months. The dealership and GMC knew that this is an issue and refuses to pay for it. Someone needs to do something about this!!!.
First, gas gage started miss reading, then a month or 2 later it has been stuck on e with low indicator light on ever since. Second, last week my daughter stopped the vehicle, put the gear selector in park, car kept moving, dash indicator was still indicating drive and kept moving. Good thing she didn't get out of the car. I saw a big recall for gm multiple years but not my model for bad shifter cable and that is what broke. That could have been a very serious incident and could have caused someone to get seriously injured.
Stability control light constantly come on for repair, second repair on fuel system, diagnostic shows problem in steering and right wheel.
Bought the GMC Envoy 2006 yesterday at 50,000 miles and filled up with gas and the gauge stayed on empty for approximately 50 miles than started to fluctuate between empty and full.
I have a 03 Envoy sxl that smelled like gas, the dealer stated there was a crack in the hose. I had that replaced and now it leaks gas going downhill. As I saw others are having the same issues and most if not all that has SUV's have children. If the same model part was recalled on the trailblazer why not enovy's? GMC should recall all cars that has the model number to fix the problem before they go up in flames with our children.
Envoy lost power while driving 55 miles an hour down the road. Because I didn't realize it was out of gas I had it towed to a shop thinking there was an engine issue. Shop discovered that it was just out of gas and that my fuel sensor is bad and quoted me $1500 to fix. The gas gauge is never accurate and I have ran out of gas multiple times with two small children in the car. After seeing all the complaints of other people who have the same issue I called GMC and they said that they will only fix for free if it has less than 100,000 miles on it. I only had 108,000 on it when the issue started. How fair is that?.
The gas gauge on this vehicle is off. On two separate incidences when the gas gauge is just above the red empty indicator, the vehicle acts like it is running out of gas. This is demonstrated by difficulty excel-orating after stopping, or going up hill. Then 15-20 miles later the gas light comes on and the vehicle is struggling to go because it is literally running on empty.
While driving vehicle, started to rough idle and almost caused a vehicle accident because I was unable to stop the car while driving, engine shutdown while driving and lost all power and braking & steering ability, restated vehicle and got burning gas smell from vehicle exhaust pipe and check engine light on with code p0014, got vehicle serviced and had new sensor installed but now getting pinging sound from engine under load and while driving at speed and minor vibration while at idle. I feel this is a serious issue with this vehicle where almost feel unsafe driving vehicle due to running risk of engine shutdown while at speed and unable to steer or brake when engine stalls due to this condition with code p0014 in cars computer. Would really like to be contacted about this issue, gm should have a recall to inspect these systems and provide free repairs of any faulty sensors and provide a full service check on this vehicles. I felt real unsafe to drive this vehicle due to worrying about causing engine damage or having a accident because of this high end failure of this componet.
Headlights began to dim, then brighten repeatedly, as to appear to be "flashing" other drivers. Shortly after, the oil pressure gauge malfunctioned. After the oil pressure gauge, a few days later the battery gauge malfunctioned. A few weeks later, the gas gauge stopped working right. Now, the engine continuously jerks, like it is missing due to lack of fuel. Contacted GMC on 11-09-2012. No solution.
