Underhood Wiring Problems of GMC Envoy

1 Underhood Wiring problem of the 2004 GMC Envoy

Failure Date: 02/15/2010

The contact owns a 2004 GMC Envoy xl. While driving approximately 30 mph the instrument panel cluster failed to function properly. He stated that the speedometer and fuel gauges would shut on and off at times. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who stated that the instrument panel cluster needed to be replaced. The vehicle has not been repaired. The contact referenced recall 03v096000, electrical system wiring, interior/under dash and was advised that this was for the 2002 model year. The VIN was unavailable. Then failure mileage was 51,000 and the current mileage was 55,000.

2 Underhood Wiring problem of the 2006 GMC Envoy

Failure Date: 08/27/2007

The contact owns a 2006 GMC Envoy. The contact started the ignition and the fuel gauge displayed an inaccurate reading even though fuel had been dispensed into the fuel tank. While driving, the fuel gauge reading fluctuated which caused difficulty in determining the actual fuel tank level. In addition, the air bag warning indicator illuminated continuously whenever the vehicle was operative. There were also electrical issues which contributed to the radio not to function and the instrument panel cluster lights would not illuminate. The fuel sensor was replaced previously by the dealer and the failure recurred three years later. The vehicle had not been repaired for the most recent fuel gauge malfunction. There were no repairs performed in relation to the other failures. The manufacturer was notified of the problem. The approximate failure mileage was 23,000. Updated 4/2/12 the consumer stated the fuel level sensor failed twice. Also, ai =r bag warning light was fixed by moving the srs wiring under the driver's sat. The radio and dash lights were replaced as well, due to inferior parts. Updatd 04/16/12.

3 Underhood Wiring problem of the 2001 GMC Envoy

Failure Date: 12/09/2001

Vehicle stalled out on highway and died without warning due to a defective wire harness. Dealer has inspected vehicle and will replace wire harness. Everthing shut down and the message displayed on the console to check brake system. Dealership installed wire harness and new pcm.

4 Underhood Wiring problem of the 2002 GMC Envoy

Failure Date: 10/12/2001

Recall 01v126000; while driving 60-65 mph consumer lost control of vehicle, hit concrete median, and vehicle bounced off median and hit right guardrail. Also, vehicle caught on fire, fire department put out fire. Vehicle was totalled. Front lower control arm was broken, consumer has parts for inspection, part of break was clean, the other part rusted through. Consumer called GMC about recall on this part, was told this vehicle was not affected. Due to VIN.
