Defective engine and throttle for a 1997 gm Jimmy, VIN 1gkcs13w9v2570916. While attempting to deactivate the cruise control, by pressing the brake pedal, the vehicle continued to accelerate. It was later determined that the cruise control module was the cause of the problem. The consumer had had other components of the vehicle replaced which include the brake pad sensor, brake pads, electrical wiring. On the day of delivery the vehicle's left front wheel assembly separated from the vehicle. This failure was due to the loss of four major bolt which held the assembly to the chassis.

Pulled out of parking lot on to road. Applied brakes while approaching a light. Even with both feet on the brake pedal the 1996 GMC Jimmy barely came to a stop from a distance of 6 car lengths going 30 mph. Narrowly avoided rear-ending vehicle in front of me. This was not the first time but the closet encounter. Before this incident I had the front rotors, disk pads, calipers, front flex lines, booster, vacumm hose and connector on engine to booster, master cyl. , and rear brake linings - replaced. Since then I had the vacumm checked from the engine to the booster and was told the booster was bad. I had the booster and masterc replaced again. Still no change. Pedal goes too far down and feels like it hits a brick followed by very weak breaking action.

The front and rear windshield wipers began to intermittently work. This was over a period of three months and later stopped working all together. Consumer did not take the vehicle to a dealer for any repairs because it was no longer under warranty. The transmission did not shift properly after acceleration for a period of about thirty seconds, and then it shifted into gear. The abs was delayed when applying brake pressure. The brakes locked, and then the vehicle slid. The brakes pads were replaced every three months, this has been ongoing for the last two years. The steering wheel pulled to the right continuously, an alignment was performed a year ago but it did not correct the problem. In January 2004 the vehicle was involved in an accident, it struck a parked car at a speed of about 30 mph and the air bags did not deploy. This was front impact. The consumer has numerous complaints about the vehicle. .
