Backing up my boat to launch it, the brake light came on and brake pedal went to the floor. Slowed it down and ended up throwing it in park to keep the boat, trailer, and van from rolling into the water. Got towed out and a friend pulled the boat home for me. The mechanic showed me the rusted drivers side steel brake line that had ruptured. He also told me all of the other lines had considerable rust and that all of them should be replaced due to safety concerns. The entire steel brake line has been replaced and I did save the rusted lines for now.

2000 GMC Safari abs system - at low stopping speed abs activates for no reason and increases stopping distance. Only 26,000 miles on vehicle. Had several near miss crashes in parking lots. Most likely due to corroded abs wheel sensors. No brake light, abs warning lights or fault codes appearing.

Consumer stated while driving, the anti-lock brake system light illuminated, suddenly the brake pedal went to the floor. Consumer had to use the emergency brake to stop.

Anti lock brake light is on. Replaced all worn pads and shoes. Light will not reset. The van will not pass utah safty inspection with light on. Not sure of how safe the van is. GMC has a known track record of safty issue with their anti lock brakes. They risk families health by not resolving the known issue with their anti lock brake systems.
