Driving down the highway about 65mph it made a loud clunk and I took it in to service department and they told me I would have to pay about $400. 00 to drain the transmission fluid and replace it. I told them m pick up only has less than 15,000 miles on it I don't think this is fair, the service gu said the don't pay for it and other GMC denali customers had theirs done and problem was solved and I wasn't the only customer that had the issue and cory from alaska auto body said it was safe to drive.

Two issues broken valve spring caused engine to shut down, second service brake, brake failure light, service esc, service trailer brake messages causing brake failure.
I noticed several spots of oil on my driveway, I then inspected the underside of the engine (l5p) and noticed oil dripping from several bolts and lines. My vehicle, a 2020 2500hd denali diesel, has only 2,200 miles on it from normal highway driving.
Knocking coming from engine - noticeable unnecessary noise in which dealer can not fix the problem.
1-it needs to apply the brake so hard to make it stop at 100 km/hr and above. . 2-there is a jerk on down '2nd to 1st "and up shifting 1st to 2nd gear. 3-front parking sensors sensitivities is not accurate .
Engine light keeps coming on take it to the dealer I guess they reset it and now this is the 3rd time it's now back on, back up camera goes out from time to time,.
GMC has refused to find a fix for the heater cord defect which is one of the main reason why I purchased the vehicle. I live in idaho. GMC should compensate owners until fixed.
When I purchased my truck on 08/17/2019. The window sticker said my heater block was disable. The service dept. Said there is a recall on this. I cannot go in cold weather until this is resolved. Can you tell me when it will be resolved.

I received a recall notice may 2019 from maryann l. Combs, vice president global vehicle safety. The local dealership said parts were not available at that time. A few months later, still not available and today, February 25,2020 they are still not available and it seems they may never be available to vehicles in the "southern" states. My truck travels to mn, mt, nd on a regular basis and the problem in question needs to be fixed to keep the engine warm at below zero temperatures. Nhtsa campaign id number is 19v328 and recall number was n182206311. Per the letter from ms. Combs use of the current engine block heater cable could result in an engine fire.

Since I've owned this vehicle I have had transmission problems. Once it went from 70 to 20 on the highway. . It kicks or jerks at any speed. . . Especially going slow. . The shifting is horrible!!! the feeling of it losing power again like it did could cause serious damage to the transmission and unselfish and passengers. . I don't trust it on the highway!!! I keep a monitor connected to my truck at all times. . The dates coincide with the paperwork!! ongoing tranny issues all the time!! I paid way to much for this lemon!! engine vibrates around 80. . And if you don't use your blinker. . They truck fights you to change lanes. . It pulls you back!!.
The truck dies at any moment. Stability track system warning pops up in the little screen and the steering wheel is blocked when this happen. After these to things happens the truck shut down. Sometimes, after a few minutes the truck comes back to normal. This has happened to me for like 10 times in a period of like 15 months. I have taken to the dealer like 6 times and they haven't found the problem. They have change some wires from the battery. They have reprogram the software and nothing I still have the same problem. The truck dies at any moment. All of this happen when I am driving the truck most of the times at low speed and while turning to the left or right except like two times that occurred while I was driving in the highway. The mechanics in the dealer have done all kind of diagnostic that they have but they could not duplicated the problem so the answer that I get every time is that every is fine and that they couldn't duplicated the problem.
I started my truck and noticed a heavy smell of gasoline coming from the hvac vents. I stepped out of the vehicle and noticed a large puddle of (fuel) gasoline on the pavement and a constant drip of (fuel) gasoline coming from the rear of the motor. I proceeded to turn the vehicle off and contact my local gm dealer for assistance.
Steering electrical assist fightback, driving, turning resulting in no steering-deadly! this can happen at any time while driving. Very dangerous! engine must be shut off and restarted before you can get out of street. Then message reads "lower driver window then raise" before proceeding.
The contact owns a 2017 GMC Sierra. While driving various speeds, the vehicle began to shutter without warning. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer (donovan and bauer auto group, 11579 hydetown road, titusville, PA 16354), but the cause of the failure was not determined. The local dealer was able to duplicate the failure, but there was no remedy to correct the failure. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to NHTSA. The failure mileage was approximately 2,000.
My GMC 2015 diesel durimax truck had the engine light turn on and said emission needs serviced. It proceeded to cut my traveling speed from 75 mph to 65 mph to 55 mph. I made it to denver colorado barely without the truck falling to 4 mph. I went yesterday to have it serviced. They said that they fixed it still under powertrain warranty. I drove away to go back to texas 700 miles of highway home. I drove and the exact same problem happened again. I'm was on a highway at this point with heavy highspeed traffic in the middle of nowhere where the speed limit is 75 mph. My truck speed was reduced by the emission system again from 75 moh to 65 mph to 55 mph. I was almost hit by a big rig truck with my wife in the car. Sometime later were almost side swiped twice, and then it started raining and the sun started to set, and matters went from dangerous to near deadly. We tried to turn the truck around to get back to denver and almost were hit again because with the GMC speed reduction I could not accelerate away from the high speed cars coming at us. GMC shutdowns the car speed purposely to avoid some tiny amount of nox, and put people at risk of being killed on a highway in rainy nightime weather. We finally made it back to denver just 19 miles before the truck speed would have been reduced to 4 mph. We would have to been on that 75 mph highway riding in the right side of the slow lane at 4 mph !!!!! at night in the rain with high speed 18 wheelers going by at 75 to 85 mph. The government and GMC are insane to have designed this, I am bringing it tomorrow to get try to get it fixed again but the ordeal I went thru is still scary as hell, and worried about it getting fixed. We could be killed due to this. I am an engineer dealing with public safety, and I am in shock concerning GMC's and the government over step in this design. Steve brown 409-539-8718.
Engine lifter issue/low oil pressure problem relates to having the lifters replaced. The 5. 3 vortec engine has afm (active fuel management). Dealer wants $5800 to fix the lifter issue, while estimates to replace the engine with necessary parts runs between $6900 and $7200. Is this a manufacturer problem? truck has 52,000 miles and has been serviced at regular intervals. Truck was parked when the issue became evident during the startup. Truck is now at the dealer (towed) awaiting repair.

Engine stopped running, dash gauges blank. I managed to pull over without power brakes or steering! after a few minutes I was able to restart with "reduced engine power, traction control off, and stabilitrac" problems displayed on dash. I was a mile from home in -10f temps! I pulled it into my shop. Dtc code p2135 which has to do with throttle position sensor. The dealer has a 2 week delay in getting into their garage! I found out that the throttle body/sensor is not covered under warranty. So with the cost of a tow (can't trust the truck to make to dealer) plus the part cost, I will repair it myself. The reason for this letter, I discovered that this has happened to other GMC truck owners. Their vehicle quit in the same manner. I think that "reduced power" is not the same as no power!!! I wonder what would have happened to me if I was on the freeway during rush hours??? be prepared for some creative driving!.
Engine has lose of engine coolent over time with no evidence of leaks found. We brought the truck to a gm dealer which told us this was a known defect issue. They provided us with bullitin # 06-06-01-019b document id 1986750 which clearly state this was defect in the casting of the castech heads. The cost with parts and labor is $3,100. 00 dollars. Clearly, gm should cover this cost since this obviously is a known defect. Searching the internet you can see a large number of people experiencing this issue with little or no help from gm.

#5 cylinder rocker arm broke took to a dealership in michigan to get repaired. Problems with engine running, before all this happened I was getting 20/22 mpg on the highway which is what I travel mostly, now since this happen I only getting 16/18 mpg on the highway. My dealership in milwaukee worked with an engineer from gm and they claim everything up to spec and won't do anymore on the vehicle but yet something has happened that I have lost about 4/6 mpg highway or $20 per tank which with my traveling is a lot of money $400 month. I am very dissatisfied with gm and this vehicle right now when you pay $50,000 + for a vehicle you don't expect to have problems within the first month of purchase (brand new) and then for gm not to find out why the drop in mileage is unacceptable.
Engine will increase idle from 700 to 900 at any time. One can be sitting at a traffic light and it might increase or decrease. I pull a 5th wheel (35 feet) and it is very difficult to stop with the engine trying to keep going. Also it is very scary to stop on slippery roads. This did not start until the vehicle had approx. 35,000 miles on it. The dealer tells me it is normal, but I have talked to owners of the gm diesel from model year 2008 through 2015 and none of them have this condition.
