When will the following recall dispute with gm be resolved? I would like a remedy to this recall due to safety concerns. Gm recall # 2049151 / NHTSA # 16v381 / date issued: may 27, 2016 recall status: incomplete. Remedy not yet available recall description: takata corporation (takata) has decided that a defect which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in certain 2007-2011 Cadillac escalade, escalade esv, escalade ext, Chevrolet avalanche, silverado 1500, suburban, tahoe, GMC Sierra 1500, yukon, yukon xl, and 2009-2011 Chevrolet silverado 2500/3500 and GMC sierra 2500/3500 vehicles. This is based upon takata's decision that front passenger airbag inflators it supplied to gm are defective. Gm has submitted to NHTSA a petition for inconsequentiality and NHTSA has granted gm until August 2017 to complete its investigation and to submit all data supporting the petition. If the petition is denied, gm will conduct a recall of the airbag inflators covered by takata's defect information report. . Read more...

Takata recall: I received a notice from tk holdings in 2016 about this recall. I've checked the website several times since but the status is always "recall incomplete. Remedy not yet available". I called GMC today and they submitted a report to the NHTSA that they claim shows that the truck is safe and the airbags/inflators do not need to be replaced. They would not tell me when they submitted the report, but the deadline from the NHTSA was 8/17. This looks like a delay tactic by GMC. In the meantime, I have a truck that the NHTSA has deemed unsafe enough to issue a recall. This impacts my peace of mind, as well as any resale value the truck may have. I understand that these things take time but this seems excessive. Can you tell me when the NHTSA will issue a response to GMC regarding the report. Bottom line, is the truck safe to drive or not?.

Takata inflators. Since 2011 ai have been asking my dealer to replace the defective air bag and they keep telling me gm will not authorize it. It is now April 2018. I want to know when this repair will be done. Thank you.
Takata recall. It has been 15 months since I was issued a recall notice concerning my passenger airbag. Gm has still not made any attempt to replace it under their recall. My vehicle is only getting older and causing the inflator in question to be further stressed from the heat and humidity of the northeast texas. I no longer feel safe having a passenger in my vehicle.
Takata recall of may 27,2016: airbag inflators - psan inflators I cannot have my vehicle airbags replaced/repaired as gm does not have a remedy for this recall as per mike shaw Buick GMC, 1313 motor city drive, colorado springs, CO 719-636-3881 ???.
Takata recall gm is still not replacing defective inflators. They were supposed to have completed their investigation months ago but there is silence.
Takata recall in July 2016, I received a letter from GMC stating that my 2010 GMC Sierra 1500 was built with defective takata airbags. I have called crabtree Buick GMC in bristol, va. , once in 2016 and again in summer of 2017 and parts aren't available at this time for installation. I would seriously like to have the newer, safer airbag inflators installed ASAP!!.

Takata recall. The contact owns a 2008 GMC Sierra 1500. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 16v381000 (air bags); however, the part for the recall repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact called heafner motors inc (935 ms-6, beltsville, ms 38606; 662-563-7631) and was informed that the parts were not available. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue and informed the contact that the repair had been completed by adjusting the air bag temperature of the air bag inflator. The contact stated that the statement from the manufacturer was questionable given the vehicle was never taken to the dealer to have the repair performed. The contact had not experienced a failure. VIN tool confirms parts not available.
Cracked dashboard - dashboard is deteriorating. Numerous cracks. Vehicle is parked in the shade 90% of the time and only has 23,000 miles on it. It has never been in any accident. There is a dashboard crack next to the airbag on the dashboard. My concern is with the takata inflators and potential shrapnel produced from the rotting dashboard becoming airborne during an accident. There is a website that shows the majority of these gm dashboards are defective and falling apart beyond cosmetic appearance. What kind of safety testing has been done in relation to cracked dashboards causing injuries? there should be a solution to the takata inflator issue and a recall on gm cracked plastic dashboards. It is past August of 2017 and I have heard nothing regarding the airbag issue solution. I no longer feel safe driving this vehicle.
Takata inflators air bags and tire stability lights both came on about the same time a couple months ago, dealership is quotes are high, im now afraid to drive my vehicle, I m at a point that I will have to park the vehicle.

Nhtsa recall number: opens new window takes away from VIN lookup section> 15v324 recall date: may 28, 2015 manufacturer recall number: n150817. Some front passenger airbag inflators may experience an alteration over time, which could lead to overaggressive combustion in the event of an air bag deployment. This condition could create excessive internal pressure when the air bag is deployed, which could result in the body of the inflator rupturing upon deployment. Safety risk: in the event of an inflator rupture, metal fragments could pass through the air bag cushion material, which may result in injury or death to vehicle occupants. Remedy: dealers will replace the front passenger air bag inflator, free of charge. Recall status: recall incomplete. Remedy not yet available 1. 5 years later and still no remedy available? is this one part of the takata recall that I just saw on the nbc news?.

2007 GMC new sierra c1500. Consumer writes in regard to safety recall notice gm 49151 and NHTSA recall 16v-381(airbag inflator defective). Consumer wonders when part will be made available.
Takata recall - bought 2008 truck new and I live in oklahoma. It is very hot here in the summers. Higher risk in hot climates and my vehicle has been exposed approximately 9 years. I have called the dealer three times over the last 15 months and they refer me to gm cust svc. Today cust svc tells me the same crap - they have not figured out what to do. It's simple - replace the inflators now - enough screwing around. Safety recall received dated July 2016. Still no parts at dealer. Gm is dragging their feet as long as they can. It is time to do something!.

Gm recall # 2049151, NHTSA #16v381 this references a problem gm recall center has on line this statement: safety risk description the propellant in some types of takata airbag inflators can degrade over time, especially after long exposure in hot and humid regions. If the propellant degrades to a certain level, the inflators may rupture during deployment, causing serious or fatal injuries. Gm's petition for inconsequentiality and NHTSA are beyond the August 2017 deadline. You are both now culpable for my truck and other vehicles not having served up safety to the public for business or governance issues for their welfare. (this form will do to convey).
Received initial recall notice concerning defective airbag inflators - issued in 2016 - and the recall notice still hasn't been repaired. Manufacturers recall number is #2049151; and due to the lack of repair I'm worried that a front seat passenger will be injured.

Takata inflators: why is it taking so long to fix a problem that may result in injury or death. Until this problem is fixed it is my belief that there should be no production of any new vehicles. If air bags are still being installed, as per government regulations and safety standards, the automobile industry engineers should be able to come up with a retrofit. The government should force the issue. My vehicle is still on recall.

2049151 I would like my front passenger side airbag inflator replaced before it kills or serious injures someone. I was first notified of this problem a long time ago.
"takata recall" on 02/17/2015 I [xxx] was involved in a single passenger (me) mva at "the macinac bridge" on the north side of the mackinac bridge rolling my truck into the toll booths located on the north end of the macinac bridge in the city of st ignace, mackinac county, michigan. The weather conditions that day were horrible. There were high winds, snow, sleet, rain, and I black ice ! 100% humidity ! after the accident came to a complete stop I opened my eyes and an inflator was launched directly at my head. If it had hit me there I would be dead right now. I reacted quickly by tilting my head to the right and the inflator hit the left side of my head using it as glide path thus changing the trajectory next is what I call the most horrific thing to ever happen in my entire 51 year life span thus far on earth, the inflator blew up off the back-side of my head point blank, changing my life as I know it forever. That day on 02/17/2015 the [xxx] everyone knows and loves actually died. What I can't believe is there is this survivor of one the most horrific recalls in modern day auto history and they label it a "silent recall" that just blows my mind, who ever heard of a "silent recall" and nobody wants to talk with him (me) for some strange reason or else know one who should know has been properly informed? nor has anyone from GMC or takata called to at least apologize for the lifetime (closed head injury) inconvenience; why? :-((( sincerely, [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

Takada inflator has been on recall for way too many years while people continue to be injured and or killed, while gm stands by and refuses to do anything. They didn't mind taking my money. This is a 2011 how many more years will it take? I asked for a loaner vechicle but that was also denied. Now I demand my truck fixed and a loaner until you can get the parts. I am scared to death every time I need to unexpected the truck, don't you think it's about time you start helping your gm customers out? I think it's been way too long.
