Tl the contact owns a 2016 GMC Sierra 2500. While driving at low speeds, the brakes failed to operate without warning. The contact had to apply extra force to depress the brake pedal. The vehicle was towed to parks motor sales inc. (919 nashville hwy, columbia, TN 38401, (931) 398-5090) where the contact was informed that the cause of the failure could not be determined. The contact stated that the vehicle remained at the dealer waiting to be serviced. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 61,000.

Brake failure upon slowing down at off ramp. Avoided accident but had total brake failure. Pulled into parking lot, checked fluid levels, were ok, tried brakes again and they were working. Have not had a problem since. Have heard reports of similar nature. Some think it is a problem in the valving. Hope you can find a cure.

In the past three months the fuel lines needed replacement as they had rusted so badly that a leak formed. Yesterday while pulling my 10,000 pound boat, my brakes suddenly failed because of a leak in the line between the abs box and the right front wheel. The catastrophic failure nearly caused me to lose control of my vehicle and boat. I was able to downshift and use by emergency brake to bring the rig to a stop.

Was backing out of driveway and hit brakes. Pedal depressed further than normal and it took extreme effort to stop the truck. I tried turning truck off and then restarting it to see if that would fix the problem. It did not. I then tried to steer the vehicle to line it up with the roadway so it could be towed easily. I was backing up and trying to turn the wheel and the steering felt like it was locked. With extreme effort I was able to turn the wheel while continuing to back up. Suddenly there was a little chunk noise the wheel kicked slightly in my hands. I then had full power steering and power brakes again. I immediately drove it (slowly) to the dealer and they told me everything checked out and that it was intermittent problem that they could not solve. Both steering and brakes failed, but the dealer could not reproduce the problem.

The contact owns a 2007 GMC Sierra 2500. On two separate occasions while driving downhill at 45 mph, the rotors became warped and began smoking. The contact smelled a burning odor. On each occasion, the dealer could not find any failures. The contact was concerned that his brakes would fail while driving down a hill. The current mileage was 24,000 and failure mileage was 22,000.

Had vehicle serviced at 47,000 miles and was informed I had total brake rotor failure. I was instructed by (gm file#1-420413913) to have vehicle diagnosed by a gm dealership and I did. There findings were nothing could be done by gm in assisting me with a complete set of brakes & rotors due to premature rust.
