1 Brake Antilock Wheel Speed Sensor problem

Failure Date: 12/14/2016

When braking, the antilock brakes kick in no matter if needed or not. We have had several close calls on both city streets & highways. The car was already recalled and fixed for front wheel speed sensor corrosion, 05v379000, and the same thing is happening again. The sensor was not replaced, just cleaned and put back in. I don't understand how this fixed the problem when the corrosion can come back and did. It was just 30,000 miles later. We have taken it to a dealer and have called gm. We were told the recall is fixed and it will cost us $423. 00 per side to fix plus tax. Please help and let us know what to do next.

2 Brake Antilock Wheel Speed Sensor problem

Failure Date: 10/18/2010

I have a 2002 GMC Yukon 4wd and have had recurring problems with my abs activating at slow speeds. The vehicle has been repaired by the local GMC dealer 3-5 times but keeps recurring 10-15k miles later. The problem occurs at slow speeds, such as coming to a stop or in heavy commuter traffic. The abs activates and the Yukon is difficult to stop. The dealer claims they are unaware of any problems along this line, but I have paid several times to get it repaired and nobody seems to know why it keeps failing. The failure to stop has resulted in two small collisions but no damage was done to my vehicle or the others. The problem is occurring again, but the $500/pair of sensors is proving to be a burden to keep fixing. I believe the speed sensor was adjusted the other times the abs was faulty, but the details are difficult to determine. Any and all help is appreciated! I realize my vehicle is 8 years old with 80k miles on it, but this problem has been repaired under warranty several times and the problem remains, expensively, after the warranty has expired.

3 Brake Antilock Wheel Speed Sensor problem

Failure Date: 03/05/2010

Abs activates during slow stops, increases stopping distance. Dealer performed recall 05v37900 and problem persists. Dealer replaced both front speed sensors and problem persists. I believe problem is corrosion in front wheel hubs on tone ring. Recall does not address that part.

8 Brake Antilock Wheel Speed Sensor problem

Failure Date: 02/01/2005

2002 GMC Yukon, the vehicle's front wheel speed sensor corroded. When the brakes were applied, while the vehicle was traveling at speeds greater than 3. 7 mph, but less than 10 mph, the corrosion caused the abs to activation. If this were to occur where stopping distance is limited a crash may occur. Vehicles have a condition permitting corrosion to occur between the front hub-barring assemble in the wheel speed sensor. This is the exact problem that the consumer is experiencing with his vehicle. It is also, the same information that is include in a manufactures recall in the nation of canada.
