37 Check Engine Light On problem of the 2009 GMC Yukon

Failure Date: 12/24/2010

While driving from GA to la on christmas eve, my Yukon xl went into reduced engine power and lost traction control and antilock brakes. The car almost instantly dropped from 72mph to 45mph and the check engine and traction control warning lights came on. I was advised by onstar to pull the car over and turn it off for a few minutes. When I started it again, power was restored, but the check engine warning light remained. I was advised that the car would probably do the same thing and that I should have it serviced immediately, on the next business day, which was Monday December 27th. While driving to a destination about 30 miles away on Sunday, the car went into reduced power again and the warning lights returned. This time turning the engine off for a few minutes did not help and power reduction remained. I took the car in for service first thing Monday morning and was told that the throttle body assembly was bad and had to be replaced, but that the part was backordered at the factory, so my vehicle could not be repaired. I called my dealer in GA to see if they had the part, but they also had two on backorder for two other customers. As a result, my vehicle, which is only a year old and under warranty, cannot be repaired and is unsafe to drive on the highways. The sudden loss of power could cause an accident. After checking online complaints about this issue, I discovered that many people driving gm vehicles are experiencing the same problem.

39 Check Engine Light On problem of the 2007 GMC Yukon

Failure Date: 05/01/2009

I noticed an approximate 4'' crack on my dash between the windshield and steering wheel hump. I then noticed a similar crack emerging near the top left portion of the front passenger side air bag. I thought maybe the employees where I get my car wash were applying too much pressure. However, after looking online to buy a new dash, I found that I was among many GMC owners that have the same issue. I dont think it is a coincidence that we all have the same cracks, in the same location on the dash. Also, the chrome plating on both my driver and front passenger inner door handles is peeling off. I heard that exposure to the sun may be a cause, however, my two front windows have had 5% tint on them since I bought it. Also, I just got my vehicle back from the dealership because of check engine light issues. The problem is fixed for now, however, after researching online it seems like there are hundreds of GMC Yukon owners experience very similar issues with their vehicle's engine. I keep reading about the "reduced engine power" and "service stabilitrak" warnings.

Failure Date: 11/01/2005

Ever since I bought it in oct 2004, I felt this jumping of the truck after I stopped and started to accelerate it would do this, I called in and they told me that maybe because it was new, it may be doing that , I took it in last week because the engine light was lit and there was a strange burning smell on , it and there was also the recall of the back seats, and a light sensor loose, it was returned to me after a few days, and they said that it was because the gas cap was loose? that was the worst excuse that I have heard, I am still having that problem, but I just don't want to take it anymore because they are going to come out with the some lame excuse , and still have the problem.
