Vehicle brakes would not operate properly, increased braking effort and message displayed on instrument cluster service brake system. This is the 4th time a beake issue has been experienced with a gm suburban/yukon vehicle. First 3 were on our 2017 Chevrolet suburban premier. Also, engine just shutoff in the middle of a turn lane of a busy intersection, no other symptoms so far.

With only 52 miles (2-days old), I was driving home when I heard a knock. Then the engine light came on and the vehicle stability control lowered the vehicle and the vehicle shut off. I was left in the middle of traffic unable to move the vehicle to a safe location. Neutral would not work either. When the vehicle was towed to the GMC dealership, they knew exactly what was wrong with the car, broken springs in the engine. Apparently they sent a notice stating that the engine springs were breaking and needed to be replaced. The dealership only offered to replace the 2 broken springs, not all of them since my vehicle was built after the date noted for having issues. They would not provide me with any paperwork about the service. I'm not sure how this company can get away with selling vehicles they know have issues with faulty parts.

Car engine shut off with no warning, I started the car, drove about 50 yards to a stop sign, stopped, started to pull away and the engine completely died. No warning lights. I was halfway into the street. I put the car into park and was able to start it again. The car has about 37,000 miles and was serviced by the dealer 11 days prior (routine service).

Engine shuts off, steering assist disappears and steering wheel is jerked out of my hand, stabilitrak warnings on dash, hvac screen goes blank, chimes start going off. This occurred as I was pulling into a parking lot and I almost hit another car. The vehicle was moving at no more than 10mph.

I was driving on the highway and all of a sudden a message on the dashboard said ''engine power is reduced" and my engine shut off, brakes were hardly working and I could hardly steer or turn the wheels. My car copmletly lost control and I was lucky there were no cars by me otherwise an accident would have been inevitable. When I went to the dealer they told me they have no answer and they suggested to replace my ignition switch and camshaft sensor to begin with. No guaranty that it'll fix my problem they said. Reading online forums looks like I am not the only one. Please do something about it otherwise sooner or later lifes will be lost.

When exiting highway coming up to a stop sign or stop light or just braking, the engine shuts off with no warning or sputtering, while still rolling with no warning. This usually happens when pulling a trailer. No power brakes or power steering. The engine has shut off 5 times in the last month and a half and taken to the dealership where I am told every time "can't duplicate so as of now nothing is wrong with the vehicle. I have had to steer clear of car in front of me several times as to not crash. Serious safety issue. Told by ed bozarth Chevrolet dealership in colorado, that since no code was produced and can't duplicate the issue, nothing they can do. Told the problem is unknown. I have seen multiple forums where same make and years are having same problem. . Read more...

The vehicle's engine shuts off while driving. Without warning. This happens at various speeds. Loss of brakes and power steering occurs after engine shuts off. This has happened on several occasions at varying speeds. Speed varying between 30 mph to 70 mph. Engine will restart (be turned back on after wait time at the ignition) and drive following these incidents, however incidents reoccur. Also upon taking it to a GMC Chevrolet dealership for inspection, service department was unable to find any "codes" related to this. Fuel pressure was tested in stationary position and in driving and fuel pressure appeared fine. Dealership noted no issues. Upon picking the vehicle up after inspection the engine cut out again while driving on the way home, again without warning. Incidents occurred on dry roads. Outside temperatures have varied from 50 f to 90 f and length of drive time has also varied from three hours at time of occurrence to only minutes after start up. Incidents happen at random and not every time vehicle is driven.

Engine started by itself while car was in the garage. Engine was racing. Garage was extremly hot from engine running. Key was in ignition but pulled out so the alarm wouldn't ding. Doors were not locked (need to be locked for remote engine start to work). Opened driver door, reached for keys and they fell out in my hand and the engine shut down by itself. We will take the car to pierce Dodge/gm ronan, mt for evaluation.
While in the middle of driving, the "stability control diasabed" sensor comes on folloed by "reduced engine power" and my vehicle just shuts off. I have been fortunate the 4-5 times it has happened as I have been able to pull off the road, wait a couple of minutes and restart my car. I have already replaced a hub that my mechanic said was causing a "traction control" problem from earlier. I am reading online all of the nightmares and I unfortunately do not have thousands of dollars to keep trying to fix an issue that GMC is clearly aware of. I have 5 kids and frequently drive them around and someone is going to get hurt and I think GMC should take some responsibility.

I was traveling on the freeway at about 70 mph coming from a supervision training class along with a CO-worker and the following sensor lights started appearing on my dashboard: traction control off, stabilitrak off. This has continued to happen on a regular basis. I have taken it to the gm service at least twice and private repair facilities numerous times and the situation continues. It is now 01-28-2014 and the situation continues and is getting worse. Alone with the above issues now the "reduce engine power" light comes on and the engine shuts down. It has become very dangerous to drive this vehicle and no repair facility, gm or otherwise, knows how to fix the problem. I have to drive so this vehicle is what I drive but, it is dangerous and gm needs to fix it or recall for this issue. I need answers quickly I fear this issue is dangerous for all concerned especially when this happens on a freeway!!.
Driving down the highway and the engine shows reduced engine power light. Engine shuts down and not able to drive over 10 mph. I understand that this is a widespread problem on GMC vehicles and in my opinion is a very serious safety hazard.

The contact owns a 2003 GMC Yukon denali. While driving at approximately 65 mph, the engine shut down completely with no prior warning. The contact was able to get the vehicle to the side of the road and had it towed to an authorized dealership. The dealer stated that although not certain, the fuel tank could have caused the failure. The failure occurred several times. In January 2010, the dealer replaced the throttle body assembly. The current and failure mileages were approximately 115,000.
Engine shuts down while driving:
I have a Yukon xl 2002. Over the past 6 months the engine would suddenly shut down while the car is being driven. It has occurred at high speed and at low speed. I have taken it back to the dealer no less than 5 times and the problem persists. This represents a major danger as while on the highway, when the engine shuts down the car becomes difficult to maneuver and moving out of the highway traffic has been each time extremely dangerous to me and to other drivers.

2004 GMC Yukon while driving at normal speeds this vehicle will have a warning light come on that says "reduced engine speed" then it shuts down to 30 mph instantly. There is no time for reaction. This problem occurs intermittently. It has happened over 50 times! a few of the times almost resulted in fatal consequences in high traffic. Took the vehicle to the dealer. They said it was the throttle body. Replaced throttle body and the next day had the same issue. Took it back to the dealer, they said it was now the accelerator pedal assembly. Replaced the assembly and two days later had the same problem. Contacted GMC by phone and was basically told that there was nothing they could do because my vehicle wasn't on the safety recall list. I really need some advice or help before it costs my wife and four children their lives!.
Vehicle is a 2004 GMC Yukon denali. While driving 25-35 mph the vehicle will shut off on the consumer. This problem has happened twice in the same day, which was on 6-24-05. The brake light will come on then the vehicle loses all power. The consumer can get the vehicle to stop by applying extreme pressure to the brakes. The first time it occurred while consumer was stopping at a stop light. Less than 5 minutes later she was able to get the vehicle to start again. Afterwards she was pulling into a gas station when the vehicle shut off the second time. The consumer had taken it to the dealership the same day. The vehicle remained there until 7-2, and at this time they told her that they could not find a problem with the vehicle. The third time the vehicle shut down was on 7-3. This occurred while the consumer was driving 30-35 mph. The consumer had taken it back to the dealership on 7-5. This time they replaced the crank shaft position sensor. The consumer picked the vehicle up on 7-11. And today 7-12 the vehicle started shaking and jerking while going 60 mph. This problem was off and on until the consumer had stopped the vehicle. After starting the vehicle back up and driving 35-40 mph it stopped on the consumer for the fourth time. And as of now the vehicle is at the dealership. All repairs were done by the same dealership as purchased from. The vehicle is still under warranty. As of now the consumer has not contacted the manufacture.
Engine shut down at 65 mph on expressway lose of steering, difficulty with brakes was nearly in an accident trying to get to side of expressway.
While driving at California freeway at 55mph and with no warning vehicle shut off, causing consumer to pull off the road.
