1 Engine Stall problem of the 2017 GMC Yukon

Failure Date: 08/03/2018

The vehicle seems to occasionally stall/sputter when accelerating/proceeding from a stop position at a light or stop sign. Even though on a smooth road surface, the right wheel seems to vibrate. The engine stall is the same instance which occurred in the 2015 vehicle that I traded because it left me stranded. The wheel shaking is not a continuous event. The stalling occurs frequently. An appointment has been scheduled for Monday 8/13 for a dealer inspection of my complaint. Vehicle will be left over and a loaner provided.

2 Engine Stall problem of the 2016 GMC Yukon

Failure Date: 09/23/2017

I have a 2017 Yukon xl denali. It has 6k miles. I purchased it new June of 2017. I was driving through a parking lot, went over a speed bump at about 3 mph and then I notice the ac turned off. Then I realized the rpm was at 0 and when I pushed the gas pedal there was no response. The engine had stalled out while driving. I took the car in for service and they were unable to replicate the issue. There were no codes stored on a car I'm told has about a bazillion computers (imagine that) and that there were no other customer complaints or "service bulletins" stating it was a known issue. Apparently if your GMC service dept can't replicate the issue. . . The car is obviously fine. I told them I'm not taking the car back. They would not allow me to continue using a loaner nor did they have a similar car even available if they would. They told me to contact gm customer service and create a case to which I did. At this time I'm still waiting to hear what gm is going to do but I've had to personally pay for a car rental because I'm not willing to drive a car that has experienced and issue as drastic as this which could kill someone. Hopefully gm recognizes this and either works to figure out the problem or take the car back to run extensive tests. I guess a problem like this isn't an issue until someone dies. . . Which has already happened in other gm vehicles with similar stalling issues. If you experience an issue like this, please contact gm customer service and do as I did and refuse to take the car back. I've only read of a couple other instances of this on the new Yukon platform/bodystyle (2015 and newer). I can guarantee that gm will be sued if I take this car back and end up in an accident because of it. I'm sure they'll deny it because there once again. . . Won't be any codes to tell them the care died, so it'd probably me my fault anyways.

8 Engine Stall problem of the 2003 GMC Yukon

Driving to work and "reduce engine power" came on. Engine stalled out and would not gain speed. I was in a lot of traffic when this happen and my vehicle cause a incident because of the sudden engine reduced all speed. GMC should do some research about this problem and inform the public of all the dangers these vehicles are causing for public transportation. This is ludicrous that GMC does not have these vehicle off he streets and destroyed knowing that they are putting people lives in danger. I will ever ever buy a GMC vehicle again.

14 Engine Stall problem of the 2001 GMC Yukon

Failure Date: 02/01/2006

My complain is related to the already in effect recall for gm recall no. 06083. I want to request that another investigation be done. Due to the fact that I have been having the same type of problem with my 2001 GMC Yukon sle 5. 3l v8. The problem began a few years back in 2006 and until this present time, its getting worse as time passes by. When it happened the very first time I contacted gm and they obviously said that they had no reported incidents as the one that I was describing for my vehicle. Then when I saw the recall on the local news in 2007 I gave them a call back and again they claimed that no incidents were reported for my specific model and engine, so they brushed me off quickly as if I were just calling cause I had nothing else to do & was just looking to waste my time and theirs!. I have had a couple of incidents occur where the truck has stall while in drive and at a speed between 10 -40 mph on a southern California fwy (where you can always count on traffic congestion). My family members and myself have been very lucky to have escaped without injury. In trying to understand what's happening with my vehicle I came across many GMC owner forums were complains from people with my same engine and model SUV had been looking for the reason and solution what caused that vehicle behavior. My SUV has the same exact issues described in the following paragraph which I copied from the recall explanation : "the crankshaft position can operate intermittently or fail completely. If the sensor operates intermittently, the ses light may illuminate and the vehicle may run rough. The engine may stall, and if so, may re-start immediately or after a cool down period. " consequence: "if the sensor becomes completely inoperative, the engine will quit running and will not re-start. Either of these failures can increase the risk of a crash" investigate&help consumers.
