Tl the contact owns a 2011 GMC Yukon xl. The contact stated that the rear window defroster connector fractured. The contact stated that the wire was dangling due to the separation from the weld point. Keyser Cadillac (located at 4130 sheridan dr, williamsville, NY 14221, (716) 568-7045) was informed that the rear windshield needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 36,000. The VIN was not available.

2007 GMC Yukon. Consumer writes in regards to issues with the rear window defroster. The consumer stated the rear defroster tabs would detach from the window every winter. The consumer went to the dealer several times, to have the issue fixed. The first time, they soldered the terminal back on at a cost of $ 29. 95. The second time it happened they replaced the entire rear window because it couldn't be soldered back on. The third time, they replaced the entire window again. The dealer the sent the consumer to a glass company, where they epoxyed the tabs back onto the window. However, within a week the tabs fell off again. Another local glass company was recommended and that company re-attached the tabs, and shortly thereafter, the tabs fell off again.

The contacts states that it was 32 degrees today as she left out for work. She states that whill driving along she engaged her rear defrost. While driving along doing 55mph she says that whole back window busted out.
