9 Air Bag Not Deploy problem of the 2006 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 09/08/2020

I filed a recall claim with american Honda. The case number is 11536174. This was for a recall on the airbags. Also, there was a recall on the transmission. The transmission stalls and decelerates when getting above 25 rpm. American Honda said this issue was a recall but appeared to be "fixed" a few years ago. But since this is an ongoing problem, I was assured it would be fixed. Jason, at the service department told me it would be "taken care of" but then, tried to bill me $150 for "diagnostic" fees plus then told the parts and labor would be an additional $800. We were given a rental car. About an hour an 20 minutes after dropping off the car, we were called to say the car was ready. Absolutely nothing was done. The glove compartment was still locked. They would have had to unlock it to make the airbag repair. American Honda told me the entire canister in the air bag area had to be replaced as well as new air bags installed. Misltin Honda screwed us! they also said these 2 repairs would take 6 hours. They fraudulenly billed american Honda for 6 hours and did nothing! they were instructed to provide proof of the old parts to show anything was done! my car remains unsafe to drive, potentially causing the airbags to not deploy and the transmission to stall, causing a crash! I'd like my service to be taken care of by Honda in manteca, please. Mission also billed american Honda for our rental. There was also a recall on something to do with the gas pedal. . A part or computer issue.

26 Air Bag Not Deploy problem of the 2007 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 09/16/2019

The srs unit and seat belt locking unit needs to be replaced. The srs unit and seat belt locking unit that locks the seat belt in place when it's in an accident are given codes in my 2007 Honda Accord and needs to be replaced. There have been 8 recalls on the 2007 Honda Accords regarding the air bags. There were recalls on the 2008 - 2009 Honda Accords srs unit where Honda did replace the srs units for free. This 2007 Honda Accord was purchase in July of 2007 and by July of any year the next years models are already out on the car lots as well. Since 2008 Honda Accords were already on the lots there is a chance that the same srs unit that was recalled in the 2008 - 2009 Honda Accords could be in my 2007 Accord. The Honda service guy working my ticket asked when was the car in a front end collision. My car has never been in a front end car collision. He said that this is usually when these codes happen. The codes mean that the airbags have been deployed which they have not. My mother and I have been the only owners and I have been the only driver. Honda of american said "at some point and time the owner has to take responsibility for repairs". I have for all repairs that have been done to the car, but with all the recalls and them stating "they wouldn't have replaced airbags in a car when the airbags had no chance of deploying". That is exactly the case in this instance. The airbag codes were displayed and diagnosed before the airbags were replace with this last recall. As long as the check airbag light is displayed the airbags will not deploy. The Honda service tech said this. Honda states "if they get enough complaints and come to the conclusion that the parts are defective then they will reimburse me". How many complaints do you have to have before there there is an investigation to see if the parts are defective.

27 Air Bag Not Deploy problem of the 2003 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 09/10/2019

While parking car at <2 mph driver front wheel hit curb. Drivers side seat ripped open but airbag did not deploy. Took vehicle to dealer and they claim car was in an accident and that deployment was normal, and not covered under any warranty. Suggested I contact american Honda and lodge a complaint, which I did and they claim this was not an airbag malfunction. If the seat ripped open but the airbag never deployed, how is this not a malfunction? (it is still neatly folded within the seat). Why did it go off when hitting a curb while parking at extremely low speed? this seems like an "airbag malfunction" . I am concerned that this should be looked into and that it should be repaired by Honda not at my cost.

28 Air Bag Not Deploy problem of the 2002 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 08/31/2019

My lady was involved in a pretty bad accident there was a recall on her vehicles airbag we had it fix but the dealership and n the accident the airbag on the drivers side airbag n passenger airbags did not deploy in the accident she got a knot on her chest from it she was on her way home from work when the accident happen on a city street.

29 Air Bag Not Deploy problem of the 2003 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 08/12/2019

Takata recall: my son was driving on the interstate at over 60 mph when the side airbag (driver side) spontaneously deployed. It slammed into his left arm with extreme force, knocking him toward the passenger door making him swerve in front of an 18 wheeler. The passenger side airbag then deployed and as he was trying to pull off the interstate the passenger front air bag deployed. He was able to stop in the area between the on ramp and the interstate, as he exited the vehicle the driver front airbag deployed. May 2016 the airbags and ignition recall repairs were done. After incident dealership ran diagnostics and said all he could see was that there was a problem with the srs unit. He asked us if we had made any electrical modifications (which we haven't) I asked him if that part had been checked or replaced during the recall and he said that wasn't part of the recall. He said we should call Honda customer service. Upon further investigation I learned there have been recalls on the replacements because of moisture being introduced during manufacturing. Also there have been problems with corrosion and malfunction of the srs units due to extreme temperatures and high humidity. At the time of the incident the heat index was 110 and the humidity was extremely high. Arkansas is located in the second of three priority regions for the srs recall. Also while researching spontaneous airbag deployment causes, I learned that the srs unit moisture problem and the degradation of accelerant from moisture can not only cause the airbags to not deploy on impact, but also cause them to deploy with no impact. This information should be included in the recall information and Honda should expand the srs recall. We are lucky lives were not lost in this incident, but that may not be the case the next time this happens.

30 Air Bag Not Deploy problem of the 1999 Honda Accord

31 Air Bag Not Deploy problem of the 2002 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 07/31/2019

Takata recall- I purchased a used 2002 Honda Accord today, 7/31/2019. When I entered the vehicle and started the car, I noticed the srs light on the dash was illuminated. When the car is stationary or in motion the passenger side airbag looks to be partially inflated under the dash. The airbag is not deployed but it does seem like over time it has inflated under the dash. Currently there are 6 recalls related to airbag modules in the year, make, and model of my vehicle, yet for some reason this website says my VIN# is not included. Please address this airbag issue on my vehicle, if I were to ever wreck, I wouldn't want anyone to get hurt because of a faulty recalled airbag module that was just skipped over.

32 Air Bag Not Deploy problem of the 2003 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 05/11/2019

On 5/11/2019 I was in a serious auto accident to where my airbags did not deploy at all. My car was completely totaled and I'm lucky to be alive today. I'm concerned way the air bags did not deploy when there was impact on every side and trigger points of my car. I want to know did I even have airbags because I everyone that has inspected the car said they should have deployed with all the impact to the car. I would greatly appreciate if you can look into this due to my life could have been taken that night and my cars air bags never deployed and now I have to live with the pain and damages it has done to me. I was driving and got into the middle lane and then I was hit from behind from a Ford f-150 from what I was told due to I lost concussion while my car spun out of control and then I woke up slammed up against trees, in a deep ditch. Since I don't remember all of what happen this is the florida highway patrol case number ( 88109030 ), so you can look more into the case. I will attach a few pictures of the vehicle that was taken when I had to get my stuff out of it.

33 Air Bag Not Deploy problem of the 2000 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 04/10/2019

Srs light came on while stationary at home parked. I went to Honda dealership and was told it has a 7-3 code for internal failure. They advised me to pay $1056 to replace computer. They said this only comes on when vehicle has been in an accident and airbags deployed. My car has never been in accident. I feel this is a manufacturing defect as well as a safety issue and should be covered. They told me my airbags may or may not deploy. Two years ago my srs light had cam on and they said it was for seat belts and they covered it. Why would this not be covered as well. This is a very common problem for other people when I searched on google people have this same problem.

34 Air Bag Not Deploy problem of the 1998 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 03/29/2019

I was in a bad accident I was in the far right lane on the highway I'm going 55mph someone jumped in front of me I used my breaks then my car jerked right into the other person car causing my car to spin around 2 time on a 6 lane highway . The airbag never deployed the staring wheel was not turning lots of fluids leaking out of it but it was always jerking for some reason even when the mechanic says that's natural. .
