We are getting an airbag warning intermittently. It happens most often when our daughter (about 80-90lbs) is in the passenger seat. I see that the 2020-2022 Accords have an active safety recall for the sensor in the passenger seat but our dealer (performance kings Honda - cincinnati) is saying there isn't one for our VIN. I have screenshots of the app and the dash. Thank you!.

My vehicle announced to me it has a supplemental restraint system problem. See your dealer.
The airbag was stolen from my 2025 Honda Accord se without breaking the window. The door lock was broken easily and the airbag removed quickly. This is a serious safety and security concern. A person can steal a critical safety component without major damage. I am financially stressed because the vehicle is financed and I depend on it for work. I am concerned about the vehicle’s design security and safety.

On February 15 Sunday night my 2024 Accord was broken in by thieves. Honda’s door lock system was so easy that robbers were able to hack it and open the driver door easily. After which steering wheel airbag was stolen. There was another Honda Accord 2025 model also parked which belong to my family member, was also hit by same thieves and was a victim of door brake in and steering wheel airbag stolen. I would like to file complaint against Honda’s week security system which allowed the thieves to easily brake into our vehicles. Upon checking the internet I came across videos of how easy it is to steel the airbags since it only requires 2 small flathead screw drivers to unlatch the steering wheel air bag. During my conversation with police who files my report mentioned that “ Honda is being hit with these cases a-lot and Honda vehicles can easily be started with wifi system”. I spoke to the service advisor at Honda who is fixing my car about this issue, he responded saying “ there is nothing we can do. The best thing you can do is put steering wheel lock bar on it”. At this point I don’t feel safe having Honda vehicle at all. What can prevent them from not breaking to my car again after being fixed? at this point it is a high risk for me for constantly paying insurance deductibles and chances of insurance premiums increments and worst of all a constant stress every night of being hit again.

Supplemental restraint system problem.
The front passenger seat is very low to a point where a deployed air bag will hit the passenger in the face, hinders ability to breathe and cause injuries to the face, I took the vehicle to our local Honda dealer to correct the problem because the car still under manufacture warranty the dealer didn’t even acknowledge the issue.

My supplemental restraint system problem keeps appearing on my dash at random times, sometimes will go away then sometimes will stay. I feel this is odd as if something was wrong I want to check it out but I cannot tell and feel this might be a technical error.

Passenger airbag intermittently works correctly. Sometimes the airbag comes on with an 85lb and 110lb children, but not always. According to the manual, the children are well above the 65lb minimum weight. At another time, sensor did not come on with a 160lb adult. Weight sensor does not appear to be working properly. Honda service performed diagnostic and code b00d5-14 appeared, so they replaced the faulty switch hazard srs on/off switch. Problem is still occurring - airbag turns on intermittently when children (85lb and 110lb) sits in passenger seat.
On December 26, 2025, the supplemental restraint system problem appeared on the dashboard. On January 6, 2026, vehicle was taken to stockton Honda service department to performed a diagnostic test and multi-point inspection was completed. During this time the diagnostic results showed a code b0020-13, open or increased resistance in the left side airbag inflator. They recommend starting with the inflator replacement parts, srs unit and program, and driver seat belt.
Car was idling in our driveway with the defroster and heater on to melt the ice from the front windshield. After about 20 minutes the side airbag on the drivers side exploded. I do believe this should be a free repair by a Honda dealership as it is obviously a manufacturing defect. Your website indicates” o unrepaired defects”,(for the VIN) but we are not the original owners so we have no idea if it was ever addressed. It appears your website only goes back 15 years it is a 2003 Honda Accord and is now 22 years old. I would like some guidance, before contacting Honda. Thank you for your consideration in this matter.

While driving at approximately 70 mph. , my passenger side airbags suddenly deployed for no apparent reason. Thankfully no one was in passenger seat or hurt, but the excruciating noise was deafening and this put me at risk since it sounded like an explosion and zero visibility out side window. I had to pull over on side of road and puncture the bags and gain composure and visibility to continue my trip. I have called the recall center and found there were no active recalls but I see that this has been an issue in the past with other 2013 Honda Accords. I have been waiting for the caseworker to have an adjuster look at the vehicle but they are already setting me up for the denial to fix the issue and replace airbags. There were no warning lights to give a signal that this might happen. Case worker is supposed to send me to adjuster to get the vehicle inspected but 2 months have gone by. I am afraid that other airbags might deploy and cause a wreck or fatality if it impairs vision. I have to have the car to drive…and am getting zero cooperation from Honda.
Supplemental restraint light keeps coming on & off. Haven't been to dealer for problem.
The contact’s husband owns a 2020 Honda Accord. The contact stated that while her son was driving at an undisclosed speed, the air bag warning light illuminated, and the message "supplemental restraint system" was displayed. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that there was an air bag issue, and the passenger’s side air bag sensor needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 71,000.
See attached document for complaint.

The contact owns a 2004 Honda Accord. The contact stated that while attempting to make a right turn, the air bags deployed independently. No warning lights illuminated. A dealer or independent mechanic was not contacted. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer or an independent mechanic. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact's fiancé sustained injuries to the face, left eye, causing her to have a black eye, and her chest and the contact sustained injures to left side of his face and his left hand. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The contact was relating the failure to NHTSA campaign number: 18v268000 (air bags); however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The approximate failure mileage was 147,486.
While driving, a warning message appeared on the dashboard stating: “supplemental restraint system problem. See your dealer. ” the airbag warning light also illuminated. This indicates a malfunction within the supplemental restraint system (srs), which controls airbag deployment and seatbelt pretensioners. At this time, it is unknown what specific component of the srs failed or malfunctioned. And this issue first appeared 2 moths after purchase but its been coming on and half I don't know how serious this is. This malfunction places my safety and the safety of passengers at risk because the airbags or other restraint features may not function properly in the event of a collision. The problem has not yet been confirmed or repaired by a dealer, and no inspection by the manufacturer, police, or insurance representatives has been completed as of this report. The warning lamps and message appeared suddenly while driving, with no prior symptoms, noises, or performance issues. Vehicle remains available for inspection if requested.
The contact owns a 2020 Honda Accord. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 24v064000 (air bags ); however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, but was not diagnosed or repaired. The dealer confirmed that parts were not yet available for the recall repair. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure.
Another vehicle pulled in front of my vehicle, I was unable to avoid the accident and struck the left side rear of his vehicle with my left front. The drivers side air bag did not deploy but the passengers side did deploy. I was wearing my seat belt as was my passenger in the right front seat, I also had a passenger in the right rear seat area and none of us were injured. I've been in contact with a couple body shops and the body shop where it's located and all of them said the drivers side air bag should have definitely deployed. No air bag lights were on prior to the accident as well as no other warning lamps. If I hadn't been wearing my seat belt I would have sustained injuries. The car is most likely totaled, the estimate is over $ 18000 and I am waiting for the insurance company to make a settlement offer.

07/30/25 - over the course of 1 week, I have received three dashboard warnings "supplemental restraint system problem. See your dealer" it goes away once car turns off. Honda of katy states to bring in when alert still on dashboard (which will disappear when car turned off) but quoted will be required to sign a $215 diagnostic fee. No charge if it is just an error code. But $215 can be used toward repair. This is a safety issue and should be a safety recall as owners should not need to pay for manufacturer defects. I can not afford to fix since still paying off the known issue of fuel injectors failing but not yet safety recalled. Please help.
I was driving around and all of sudden my car dashboard shows the supplemental restraint system problem.

I tried to take my car to the dealer because my car brakes on its own and it had a alert that something was wrong with the air bags . I can ve driving anywhere and without reason the car breaks putting my life in danger and my family. I have tried to contact the dealer about this serious matter but I don't get anywhere. I am reaching out to see what solution we can come to ?.
Mechanic states that driver buckle is causing error message concerning air bag deployment on driver side, says belt buckle should be replaced so connectivity will be re-established, to enable air bag deployment. I would think this would be a safety recall, if this is the case.
The contact owned a 2014 Honda Accord. The contact stated that while driving 40 mph, in heavy traffic, the vehicle was rear-ended by the vehicle behind. As a result, the vehicle was propelled forward and was hit by an unknown vehicle, and was then hit by another vehicle, which caused the vehicle to spin around and hit the concrete median, where it came to a stop. Unknown if any warning lights were illuminated. None of the air bags deployed. The contact stated it was an eight-vehicle accident. The contact suffered injuries to the head when she impacted the b-pillar, a torn meniscus on the left knee, abrasions on the chest, clavicle, and side from the seatbelt, and lower back. On June 9, 2025, I was involved in a motor vehicle accident while driving my 2016 Honda Accord. During the crash, the seatbelt system failed in a way that caused severe force to my body rather than restraining me properly. The seatbelt detached and violently pulled my body, resulting in significant injuries. The force from the seatbelt failure ruptured my right breast implant, which required surgical replacement. I was transported by ambulance to loyola hospital, where CT scans and ultrasound confirmed the rupture. I have since undergone surgery and continue to experience ongoing medical issues including nerve symptoms and physical therapy. In addition, the airbags did not deploy during the collision, which raised additional concerns about the vehicle’s safety systems. Because of the unusual behavior of the restraint system during the crash, I am reporting this as a potential safety defect. After researching online, I discovered other drivers reporting seatbelt and safety-related issues with similar Honda Accord model years. Because the seatbelt system is a critical safety component designed to protect occupants during a crash, I believe this incident should be documented and reviewed for possible defects. This report is being submitted so that the issue can be investigated and documented for public safety.
On June 9, 2025, my 2016 Honda Accord’s driver seatbelt detached and yanked my body with excessive force during a collision, it felt like not lifted me up to the roof the seatbelt’s jerking motion was so odd and intense causing serious injuries including a ruptured breast implant, nerve damage, and cervical spine trauma. The airbags failed to deploy despite a front and side impact. Immediately afterward, both seatbelt and airbag warning lights illuminated. The car has been in repair storage (kia willowbrook Ford) since June 16, 2025, without explanation or safety findings from Honda. Honda said the seatbelt sensor is backorder but no one can give me an eta and I need a vehiclethat is safe. The part has been on backorder for close to 5 months!! this is a critical safety failure, and I am requesting federal investigation into possible seatbelt or airbag defects associated with this VIN. ,.
