Mechanic states that driver buckle is causing error message concerning air bag deployment on driver side, says belt buckle should be replaced so connectivity will be re-established, to enable air bag deployment. I would think this would be a safety recall, if this is the case.

On June 9, 2025, I was involved in a motor vehicle accident while driving my 2016 Honda Accord. During the crash, the seatbelt system failed in a way that caused severe force to my body rather than restraining me properly. The seatbelt detached and violently pulled my body, resulting in significant injuries. The force from the seatbelt failure ruptured my right breast implant, which required surgical replacement. I was transported by ambulance to loyola hospital, where CT scans and ultrasound confirmed the rupture. I have since undergone surgery and continue to experience ongoing medical issues including nerve symptoms and physical therapy. In addition, the airbags did not deploy during the collision, which raised additional concerns about the vehicle’s safety systems. Because of the unusual behavior of the restraint system during the crash, I am reporting this as a potential safety defect. After researching online, I discovered other drivers reporting seatbelt and safety-related issues with similar Honda Accord model years. Because the seatbelt system is a critical safety component designed to protect occupants during a crash, I believe this incident should be documented and reviewed for possible defects. This report is being submitted so that the issue can be investigated and documented for public safety.
On June 9, 2025, my 2016 Honda Accord’s driver seatbelt detached and yanked my body with excessive force during a collision, it felt like not lifted me up to the roof the seatbelt’s jerking motion was so odd and intense causing serious injuries including a ruptured breast implant, nerve damage, and cervical spine trauma. The airbags failed to deploy despite a front and side impact. Immediately afterward, both seatbelt and airbag warning lights illuminated. The car has been in repair storage (kia willowbrook Ford) since June 16, 2025, without explanation or safety findings from Honda. Honda said the seatbelt sensor is backorder but no one can give me an eta and I need a vehiclethat is safe. The part has been on backorder for close to 5 months!! this is a critical safety failure, and I am requesting federal investigation into possible seatbelt or airbag defects associated with this VIN. ,.
I was driving and stopped at a stop sign, I started to go and my passenger side airbag on the door exploded. There was no impact, out of nowhere this happened.

A/c compressor and some light came on on dashboard.
I have a seat sensor airbag code and a b0d5 code.
The drivers side curtain airbag and drivers side seat belt retention airbag deployed while driving without an impact/collision. It is available for inspection. The airbags deploying while driving blocked my vision and was a completely terrifying distraction. I brought the car to my local Honda dealership for inspection and they confirmed the airbags were deployed without an impact. Honda refuses to give me the inspection report. There were no warning lights or symptoms.

Received the following message "supplemental restraint system problem. See your dealer" on my car dashboard. Brought to dealer and was told the issue was with the front passenger airbag cut on/off indicator. Was told this needed to be fixed or the airbag would not work. It was not covered by Honda as it was over 3 years and 36000 miles. Spoke to Honda and was informed I am not the only one with this problem but they would not cover it. Had to go out of pocket almost $500 on a malfunction that should be covered by a recall.
On the passenger side the seat burst and the airbag curtain deployed. It is available for inspection upon request. This happened at [xxx] while dark. This has not been reproduced, but it has been confirmed by the Honda service station. The car was inspected at brannon Honda in birmingham al. There was no warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

My 2018 Accord sport started randomly started popping up a “supplemental restraint system problem” on my dashboard. It’s turns on and goes away randomly. I went to my local Honda dealer and I asked them about it and they had to preform a diagnostic for $250. Our Honda dealer wants to charge $4000 to repair it. I wrote to american Honda and submitted a support ticket, they asked for a new diagnostic and charged us another $250. They called me back yesterday saying that they wont pay for the repairs unless there is a recall. How many people need to have the same issue to initiate a recall? there are a lot of complaints online for this same thing. It is airbag safety related.
I had an appointment today (4/18/2025) at causeway Honda in manahawkin, NJ to remedy the recall of the 2020 Honda Accord seat weight sensor circuit board. When I got there amanda from the service department said they cannot fix the issue because Honda will not pay for it. She said that they are only fixing cars that has an srs indicator illuminated on the display panel.
I had an accident on I-85 I was rear ended after traffic slammed on breaks and the car behind had been riding my bumper for miles. He went through my trunk and almost came into my backseat. I was also pushed into the car infront of me which his directly on the drivers side of my car. My front end is completely pushed on the drivers side into to where you can see the metal frame. On the rear, the bumper and metal frame completely came off. I was hit directly on impact sensors on both ends and none of my airbags went off. And my seatbelt did not lock up. We were still going about 60-70mph when he hit me. The car is a total loss.

Accident happened April 8th and drivers airbag system failed me during my accident. Passenger bags went off top and bottom but the drivers foot bag went off also but the one in the steering wheel did not go off . Resulting in neck and head injuries. Car has only been inspected by our insurance claims adjuster. No warning lights on the dash and car has always been well taken care of regarding any recalls.
Supplemental restraint system issue warning light illuminated on dash board. Immediately took to dealer and dealer diagnosed to be bad air bag sensor. No prior warning lights have been noticed.
When setting something on my passenger seat such as a water bottle filled with water and a purse, the srs light is triggered on the dashboard. After doing some research there was a safety recall for the passenger weight sensor on my vehicle model however my VIN was not included.
While driving all of a sudden seat belt sign pops up and stays there . I think there is something wrong with seat belt system.

My car is well taken care of but about 2 months ago the srs light started to come on out of no where. It randomly comes on and most the time turns off after turning my car off and back on. Sometimes it doesn’t come off and sometimes it’s off for weeks before coming back on. Again, my car is not altered in any way or has never been in any accident. Car has 50k miles and I bought it from the dealership. I do not trust the dealership I bought it from because when there was a another recall for something with the gas pump, my car literally shut down on me and they took three days to repair something that only takes five minutes because they stated they needed to diagnose it, but I knew exactly what it was and they still did not listen to me.

Honda continues to repair recalls. They have repeatedly told me I can schedule the recall repair and their broken app says I can schedule my airbag recall repair. But, the Honda dealers in san diego say Honda refuses to send them parts and there is a 4-5 year delay for repairs. And that they have this issue with Honda for numerous other open years old recalls, no parts. The Hondalink app and the software it communicates with is also malfunctioning and the Honda and the dealers refuse to make repairs. Honda has already had 20 customers die from their takata recall; why are they allowed to keep dragging their feet on recalls while spending billions to purchase Nissan?.
Honda continues to refuse to make recall repairs. Currently telling me that there is a 4-5 wait for repairs because Honda refuses to supply them. Dealers are telling me that Honda will only send them 10 per week and won't send more until the defective ones are returned to Honda. According to my dealer there are 2,000 other customers in line before me for my repairs. Honda also has a defective Hondalink app that work with car to communicate needed repairs and service. Honda says my car needs a software update, dealer says there is no update, no TSB, and no recall. Why is Honda allowed to drag their feet for years with recalls? 20 dead from the takata recall alone. Shameful lack of oversite!.
