The srs light of my car come on and goes off all the time. Sometimes when I am driving, suddenly will turn on for a while. I usually pull over and turn off the engineer and turn it on back and wait a few. This happens constantly, and I have read the manual, this has to do with the front air bags, and According to the manual book can be an alert to a potential airbags, side curtain airbags, front seat belt tensioners or the driver's seat position sensor and the front passenger's weight sensors we have check it all the time and it just goes on all the time as it comes off all the time. I have gotten to a point that concerns me a lot.

I took my car for the recall and now the airbag sensor light comes on and off and occasionally will stay on. I take it back to the same dealership who charged me $150 for diagnostic to say it's a short or something now in the same passenger air bag they installed. It will cost $300 to fix. Seems like others are having this issue so is this a scam? this needs to be corrected and I need a refund of the money I've paid.

Takata recall:my car was hesitating when accelerating from a stop. I stopped and turned the car off only for about 5 minutes, I got back in, turned the car on and it wouldn't start. I was on a city st, so I walked to auto mechanic shop, got a jump, it started up after 5 to 10 minutes. The next day, the same thing happen. I called Honda, got someone to jump start the car, drove to Honda, left the car for 2 days. Honda called me stating that the battery was good, but the sensors were bad and needed to be replaced. They replaced the sensors, charged me $160. I picked up the car, drove it home, then 2 days later, the car died out again. I called Honda again, they told me to bring the car in. I got the car jumped in order to take it back to Honda. This time, I left the car there for 3 days. They told me this time that the battery was bad and wanted me to pay for a battery. I refused to pay for a battery, sent the manager an email in reference to the findings that they said was wrong with the vehicle because in the begining, they told me that it was nothing wrong with the battery and now I paid for the sensor and the car still cut off. Did I really need the sensors or was it the battery in the first place? they replaced the battery at no charge. .

Takata recall repairs and replacement to my 2001 Honda Accord were effected on 2/22/16. On 5/3/16 I was braking for a red light when I heard a loud pop sound followed by a stinging pain in my left arm. When I turned to look at my arm I noticed the airbag from the left side of my car seat had deployed and was now hanging deflated next to me. The air bag left a red welt, it didn't bruise me and the redness only lasted a couple of days. I called my father and he advised me not to drive the car. We had it towed to our mechanic who advised us to take it back to the dealer. A service manager at long beach Honda looked at the deployed air bag and said the car had been in an accident. We asked him to take a closer look at the vehicle. When he discovered no damage to the body of the car he got down on all fours, looked under the driver's side of car, stood up, and said there were smudges on the undercarriage. When I informed him I didn't run over anything, he said the best he could do was repair the air bag and reset the sensors for about $1,000. We left and contacted Honda and told them what happened. A representative at Honda said he would contact the dealership and authorize an inspection of the vehicle. We dropped the vehicle off on 5/16/16 at 8:30am and they contacted us around 5:00pm that same day and said that they had completed the inspection. The technican said he discovered the front passenger side tire appeared to have been pushed into the tire well at some point and because some screws on the steering arm were newer, repairs had been made. We told him it still didn't explain why one airbag deployed on the opposite side of the car. He said it was because the passenger seat was empty. When we asked why the steering wheel air bag didn't deploy he said the sensors decide which airbags to trigger. We realized all they were looking for was a reason get out of it.

Tuesday, January 26th, 2016, approx. 9:45pm, my wife and I were traveling home from new jersey back to new york through highly populated traffic and pedestrian zones. Our 2007 Honda Accord 4cyl, sedan with 59,700 miles came to a stop while traveling approx 20mph as we passed an intersection due to driver side curtain and seat deploying without cause. No other vehicle/pedestrian was involved, fortunately, and no damage was done to our vehicle. However the airbags strictly on the driver side, that are not part of a recall, deployed/malfunctioned thus potentially may have caused a serious or fatal accident had another vehicle or pedestrian been nearby. Local dealer, paragon in woodside, appraised damage and cost of repair at $6,000. 00 parts and labor. The service engineer concluded any dips in roads, potholes, hills, basically landscapes that direct/force the front of a vehicle forward could potentially set off the sensor for airbag deployment. Contrary to their 'professional' statement our vehicle did not see such a scenario where only driver side of vehicle would require airbags being deployed. Should the road conditions been severve all airbags should of deployed. Having said that this should not be the case. Should their statement be "true" consequently airbags would be going off with no accidents more often, and this would be a regular repair and putting a greater population at risk. We believe the driver side malfunctioned and we cannot be held reponsible when this safety feature is out of our control. We cannot stress this enough that there was no accident. Vehicle was moving in a straight line 20mph going through a green light, on a modest incline downhill at best. Bear in mind I've driven through that intersection on a regular basis and this has never happened before. I would happily re demonstrate. The airbags that deployed are not part of a recall.

Takata recall. I own a 2009 Honda Accord 2-dr and the recall is applied to the 4-dr only. However, I wouldn't be able to describe my car's issue better than the recall. I was driving on the highway (I-35) with approx. 65 mph, going straight not turning in any way. I heard a very loud pop noise and my passenger's seat and curtain airbags had deployed. Honestly, it's very hard to tell if I ran over a pothole or if I hit a rock because the loud noise and my shock dominated the moment. Thankfully, I was commuting alone that day and nobody got hurt. I stopped the car to inspect it and I couldn't see anything. I filled a claim with Honda customer service and took the car to the nearest Honda center for a diagnosis ($120). Honda customer service requested that one of their field engineers inspected the car. After his inspection, he determined that an impact caused the airbags to deploy. When I requested to see the impact signs, they pointed a scratch on the frame rail. They said that the scratch seems minor only because it happened on the toughest part of the car, the frame rail. That scratch is almost underneath the passenger's side sensor. I asked for more information, such as the threshold when an airbag deploys, how do they know that this scratch was not there before, etc. They didn't answer my questions, instead they told me that the scratch was "fresh". I'm attaching the pictures of the scratch on the frame rail. It's not very obvious but look at the silver scrape. I decided to take my car to my insurance (progressive). They were baffled with what they saw and they couldn't believe that such scratch would cause the airbags to deploy. The estimator helping me wasn't sure if they'll cover it. He'll elevate the issue and call me on Monday. Honda doesn't recognize this as a defect since they found a scratch. Progressive may not fix it. No car out of nowhere!.

The contact owns a 2014 Honda Accord. While operating the vehicle, the air bag sensor remained illuminated, which indicated that the air bag was turned off. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the failure was due to the electrical system. The failure was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified. The VIN was unknown. The failure mileage was 36,000.
While waiting to have our airbag recall done the ssr light continued to go off and on . We thought it was due to the airbag recall on the vehicle . After the recall was done , the ssr light continue to stay on . The service department at Honda said it was the airbag sensor in the seat that needed to be replaced. It would cost $290. 00 to fix this. I investigated online and found many issues with the airbag sensor that did have recalls on them. The 2006 Honda Accord was not listed for a recall for this issue but, found many customers with complaints with this same issue. On NHTSA reports they had a article stating Honda recalls 81,000. 00 Accords over airbag sensor. They were recalling 2004-05 Accord sedans. They need to extend this to 2006 vehicles.
"takata recall" shortly after the recall the srs light came on dash and has stayed on. Possibly related to air bag, seat sensor or seat buckles. Honda refused warranty service, "not a covered item" suggested replacement of the srs unit at $800. 00 for the parts. We maintain it's all part of the same safety system and should be covered. After reading on the web it varies from dealer to dealer weather they will cover it or not. We just want whats fair. Please advise. Original owner. Valerie valencia.
The air bag sensor (driver side) light is on and Honda refuses to determine the cause at their expense. Claims the car is not covered by the massive airbag recall. Although from us dot investigation they previously hide warranty issues from the public.
The srs light came on without an accident. I had the fault code read before bringing the car to Honda. The fault code was a bad sensor only. Honda replaced the sensor and the srs control unit as well. With low mileage on the car I called Honda motors customer service. They looked into the issue and determined the repairs were needed and they could not help in any way. Repairs cost $750. 01.

I was in an accident on 4-10-15 in my 2013 Honda Accord. I hit another vehicle from behind. It was a very hard in pact but the air bag didn't come out until I tried to open the door to get out of the car. The air bag hit the right side of my face, neck, shoulder and breast. I contacted the Honda dealer and they said its not a big deal and must of pinched a line to the sensor. The paint and body shop said they have never heard of this happening. The insurance wants to fix it for 10,000 and I'm very scared to get my car back and drive it. Please contact me if this has happened to you. Caprina zarate po box 2437 porterville CA 93258. . . I been in a car accident on Feb. 20,2015 a complete crash in the front side of my Honda Accord 2008 (hood,bumber,2 front finders, head light) it's horrible accident the car is total loss and the air bags didn't explode so I hit the steering wheel with my chest and the set belt locked on my shoulders because there's nothing stopped me I'm injured. How Honda one of the biggest popular cars don't care about the life of there customers. I felt really bad of that. I'm seeking real help from u guys to support and keep the united states safe from this inhumanity manufacturing defects which killed and injured many people. They don't care about any of our complaints on there products when I called there products helps customers service they said it's an old car that is absolutely rediclious because they care only about the sales numbers and staying in the market what ever happened to the riders of this car. I expect real action towards Honda America I will keep following and steps up till I get all my rights. Important note: my car checked with a team of engineer & technicians experienced only in the car safety&air bags and I do have all of this reports and pics. Here what they said the front airbags sensors a&b sensed the crash and reported that to the control unit (car computer) and the airbag didn't deployed or exploded because there's a poor manufacturing or defect. U guys as a government agency responsible for our safety and safe production of this cars which kills and injuring the riders. Thank you for paying attention and waiting for ur decision and I documeted all the reports for this accident.
I have been in and replaced my airbag sensors 3 times with the recall. After the 2nd or 3rd time I was in for the recall the lining of the roof of my car has completely fallen in and makes it impossible for me to see out the rear view mirror. I have included a picture of the roof of my car as it looks now. I should have video of the transition of events but I think my external hard drive has crashed completely. I have been in to Honda of concord in north carolina where they have told me there was nothing they could do as far as repairing it for free and I would have to pay. Why has no one looked at a computer glitch as the culprit for the airbag sensors automatically releasing air? something has to trigger the sensor to start slowly releasing air, as I was told at Honda of south hill, virginia where I originally had my sensors replaced for the recall. I was driving down the road, a city street traveling 30 mph, and my driver side window airbag deployed. They have recently announced recalls on 2008-2009 Honda 4-door Accords for the sensitivity of the side impact sensors being too high. This isn't an issue that's exclusive to their 4-door sedans, and also relates to their 2 door coupe. As a result of my airbag deployment I took my car to Honda and they were unable to give me any explanation as to why my airbag deployed but wouldn't accept responsibility. I also had my insurance company inspect the vehicle and after their thorough examination they deemed it a manufacturer defect. As a result of the incident I wound up having to pay $2600 for my airbags to be replaced. Overall a very frustrating experience for someone who was a loyal Honda owner who wound up accepting financial responsibility without doing anything wrong.

Air bag sensor light came on abruptly and stays on. Turned the ignition off and on multiple times but the air bag sensor light stays on.
The local Honda dealership wanted me to pay $1700 for a fault in the bark sensor, this has continued to be a trend with this vehicle.

Dear sir or madam, the air bags (driver and passenger side) deployed on my 2006 Honda Accord at less than 10mph with my seat belts on resulting in scratches on my left front bumper (no other visible hard impact damage). This incident occurred while performing a slow turn into a parking lot spot. I had contacted both Honda USA and my local dealership expressing my concern that once repaired, the air bags could again unintentional deploy while driving the car. Honda USA asked me to take car to local Honda dealer for inspection and evaluation. I brought my car at Honda dealer but they said they were not equipped with skill and tools to inspect and evaluate and stated that I should go to a third party collision shop. I contacted Honda USA again and they asked me to go to my insurance company to determine if a defect is present. I believe those are unacceptable and surprising suggestions. It is my believe that Honda has a major defect in the air bag sensor and does not wish to investigate and/or acknowledge culpability in a defective safety component. Requesting to advise me on how should I proceed.
The contact owns a 2003 Honda Accord. The contact stated that the air bag sensor illuminated intermittently. Neither the dealer nor the manufacturer were able to confirm if the VIN was included in NHTSA campaign numbers: 14v353000 (air bags) and 14v351000 (air bags). The vehicle was not repaired. The contact had not experienced a failure.

Air bag sensor illuminated while driving rendering the air bags inoperative. The vehicle was taken to the Honda dealer on the next business day. Parts and labor was $697. There should be a recall on this safety issue.
I have owned this car since new and maintained it at a Honda dealer from purchase until now for most maintenance. At approximately 168000 miles the srs light came on. On 6/2/14 the Honda dealer in dover nh determined the occupant position detection system was malfunctioning and said I need to replace the opds control unit and opds sensor (code the dealer got was 15-3) at a cost of $661. 98. In the spring of 2006 I received (and still have) a warranty extension notice that extends the warranty to 10 years or 150,000 miles which ever comes first on both the opds control unit and opds sensor if they malfunction. It is clear that Honda knew this was a major safety issue but did not elect to make a recall. I believe Honda extended the warranty to save money as Honda knew that many people do not keep their cars more than 10 years (or for 150,000 miles) and secondary buyers may not be aware of the extended warranty if theses items malfunctioned during the warranty period. I contacted Honda customer service to see if they would give me some consideration and they said the warranty expired in 2010 and I had to pay for the repairs. I believe that it is unconscionable for Honda not to have had a recall in 2006 for this issue as having the possibility of an airbag not working properly could cause serious injury or death. I now have an unsafe vehicle that is virtually worthless if I do not spend $668. 98 to replace these units.
The contact owns a 2004 Honda Accord. The contact stated that the air bag sensor illuminated intermittently. The vehicle was to be inspected. The contact was not notified of NHTSA campaign id number: 14v353000 (air bags). The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 67,000. Updated 8/19/cn.
The car have a recall for front airbags the light on the dashboard was on but when I went to fix the problems the car still have the same light on and more malfunctions with the seat belt sensor. Honda didn't fix it a want me to pay almost $300 for repair something that Honda is suppose to take care if the car has a recall.
The contact owns a 2005 Honda odyssey. The contact stated that after starting the vehicle the air bag sensor light illuminated. The vehicle was neither diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed that the vehicle was not included in NHTSA campaign number 05v344000(air bags). The failure mileage was 68,000.

I drove my car over a bump or a debri and my side curtain airbag deployed I brought to dealership and told them there is a posible sensor malfunction. Dealesrhip accused me been in a accident and I need to file with my insurance. I told them if I was it will show on record accident and police report. And I cant file insurance without incident. I call Honda America they said there is nothing they can do about it and I been driving without safety device since.
I have filed complaints twice before. Out of 251 complaints(reported by consumers who know there is such a complaint mechanism), 42 are related to airbag issues. Of the 42 there have been 19 injuries reported for the 2007 Honda Accord alone, not having researched other models. From 2006 100% of vehicle air bags have been equipped with the required advanced frontal air bag which sensors the weight, height of front passengers along with how much force and when air bags should deploy. Why then has my family member and I suffered life altering injuries in a minor left side (not frontal) scrape accident? repair to vehicle was only $800. 00. Is anyone reading these complaints???? if people are lucky enough to not have shrapnel thrown at them, they are experiencing complete failure of air bags to deploy or air bags deploying from "possibly hitting a rock in the road" while driving at 45 to 65 mph on a major highway or having air bags spew chemicals and deploying at forces that do not dictate the situation. In any of the situations people are getting seriously injured. How many complaints and injuries does it take to have authorities realize there is a much bigger problem going on?.
There are plenty of online posts regarding the srs light intermittently coming on in Honda vehicles. Dealership stated that problem was due to a faulty sensor inside the seat belt buckle. Considering the magnitude of reports, there should've been a recalled issued. Although the new car warranty booklet clearly states on page 31 that there is lifetime coverage of any seat belt component "that fails to function properly during normal use," Honda has refused to honor it per conversation w/[xxx] @ 800-999-1009 on 1/23/13 @ approximately 9:05am et. The contact owns a 2004 Honda Accord. The contact stated that the air bag sensor light remained illuminated. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer to have a diagnostic performed.
