I slammed into the back of the parked white chevy truck. My vehicle came to a sudden stop forcing my body forward towards the windshield. My seatbelt only restrained my body so far so I used my foot to apply the brake. My cars passenger side air bag did deploy but the drivers side did not. My vehicle needed to be towed because it was not drivable. I then later had a friend drive me to the emergency room. I didnt want to go by ambulance due to pandemic in place. About 2 to 3 weeks later I recieved the recall letter in my mailbox. Since the accident I have been unable to work or even daily functions. I have a crushed heel and unable to walk. 12 Side/window Air Bag problem of the 2003 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 03/11/2019

2003 Accord ex sedan, 4 cyl, 95,970 miles. The side airbag (drivers seat) deployed for no reason while my 17 year old son was driving on a straight, 35 mph roadway. The seatbelt did not lock-up. I contacted the dealer service manager by phone, he told me that this was impossible and that my son was at fault. He told me that the airbags can deploy just from sliding sideways. He also stated that if I brought the car to him and paid $135. 00 he would check the car (computer) and show that there was an "incident" that deployed the airbag. As a retired state trooper (ret. 2015) I have investigated in excess of 4,000 crashes. There is no damage to the car, no indication of a collision with anything. I also know my son. I have also never seen airbag deployment without some sort of collision. A simple internet query shows that this is a problem, not just with front airbags. I did take photographs of the car, but can't upload them now.

15 Side/window Air Bag problem of the 2008 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 12/14/2018

Both front driver and passenger side air bag curtains that connect to the roof are leaking water into the vehicle when it rains. I'm aforesaid this could affect my airbag in the event of an accident. I never realized this is why my driver seats are wet when it rains.

16 Side/window Air Bag problem of the 2009 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 11/19/2018

I had stopped at the end of a private road and the car was in park and the engine was running. I was sitting in the driver's seat and adult grandson was sitting in the front passenger seat. He got out of the car and shut the front passenger side door hard. The front and rear passenger side air bags deployed. As well as the side airbag from the front passenger seat.

17 Side/window Air Bag problem of the 2004 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 10/10/2018

"takata recall" I have been to several dealerships and they refuse to replace my driver side and passenger side airbags yet I continuously get letters in the mail notifying me that if my air bag goes off I could die. 19 Side/window Air Bag problem of the 2003 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 09/01/2018

My son was driving his 2003 Honda Accord 2dr ex v-6, with his 110 lb girlfriend. The car was very hot inside, as it was a 90 degree day. He slowly pulled out of his apartment entrance. As soon as he turned onto a small neighood road, the side passenger side airbags both activated with absolutely no collision or contact with anything. Luckily his girlfriend was not insured, she does still have a ringing or white noise sound in her right ear. I can't imagine what would have happened if they were on a major highway. She does still have a ringing.

20 Side/window Air Bag problem of the 2010 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 08/11/2018

Roof moulding prematurely wearing out/damage. Allowing water to seep into seams into headliner near a-beams of passenger and driver side. Water also dripped from headliner and stained it, potentially distracting driver from road. Side airbags potentially exposed to water. 22 Side/window Air Bag problem of the 2000 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 06/08/2018

Takata recall: daughter sustained a medical emergency while stopped at a light wherein she lost consciousness, hitting the car in front of her -- presumably not at a high speed. Driver's airbag did not go off but passenger airbag did, despite no one, and nothing, being in the seat. VIN is not on recall list (which mysteriously only goes back to mid-2001). Called Honda multiple times and they will not inspect car, and do not care to investigate issue because the VIN is not currently on the recall list. Is the driver side airbag faulty (should it have gone off), or was the passenger side faulty (should it not have gone off-- I was told the latter at the body shop)? the car is not worth fixing given the fact that one airbag replacement alone costs approx a couple thousand dollars.

25 Side/window Air Bag problem of the 2006 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 02/25/2018

Right side passenger side curtain air bags deployed automatically when front left tire failed. I have read of later model years having issues with unintended side curtain deployment. I have even read of complaints about erratic deployment in 2006 models in ntsa files. There was no collision, only a chuck hole which prompted the tire failure. I was driving on a highway near athens, ohio. Hit an unavoidable pothole, the tire blew out immediately, the right side air curtains deployed. VIN 1hgcm55896a026680.

27 Side/window Air Bag problem of the 2013 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 02/23/2018

Takata recall I own two Honda Accords, a 2010 Honda Accord (VIN 1hgcp2f38aa014909) and a 2013 Honda Accord VIN 1hgcr2f55da260283). Both Accords have been identified in the takata backruptcy proceedings as needing air bag replacements. I finally received the official Honda recall for the 2010 Honda Accord passenger side airbag this past Friday, 2/23/18. I have still not recevied any recall to fix the 2013 Honda Accord air bag(s). I called the Honda dealership where I purchased both cars new and was told there would be a recall "at some future point" for the 2013 Honda Accord, but the service advisor I spoke to could not be more specific than that. In December, 2017 there were no airbag recalls for either Honda Accord on the NHTSA website. I just checked again for an airbag recall on the 2013 Honda Accord and nothing for airbags. The recall for the 2010 Honda Accord specifically states: "Honda suggests that you avoid having a passenger sit in the front passenger's seat until the recall has been performed. " obviously, this is pretty dangerous stuff. I have received no advisories and no safety advice or precautions from Honda automobile division / american Honda motor company regarding front passengers or steps to take to avoid injury in case of air bag deployment in the meantime (or until such time as a recall is officially ordered). If these takaka airbags are a known dangerous issue for over two years now and these airbags can kill or injure passengers, and my 2010 Honda just received it's recall now, in February, 2018 - when can I expect to see the recall on my 2013 Honda Accord? 2021?I cannot sell or trade my 2013 because of this known airbag problem, other dealers will not touch this car. Please take action to force Honda to advise owners to give a projected date for a recall and what to do until such time as a recall is ordered / available. Thank-you.

28 Side/window Air Bag problem of the 2012 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 02/05/2018

Traveling on a city street through an intersection starting to make a left turn moving about 20 mph, my right passenger front tire hit a pothole. That is when the left driver side airbag deployed. I find it very disturbing that airbags would deploy in these conditions, as there was no damage to the vehicle. I hit nothing, meaning there was no impact to the body of the car, yet the airbags deployed and frightened me to the point where I had to stop in the intersection to gather myself back together. Honda tells me that there are no recalls with my particular vehicle, but there are plenty noted with my make, model and year, but just not with mine in particular. I have called Honda America and pleaded my case with them as well, and they are telling me that I have to go through my insurance company, which I do not think is appropriate. There has to be a defect in with this vehicle for the airbags to deploy at such a low speed with a pothole. Additionally, the pothole was on the passenger side, yet the driver side airbag deploy. Something is just not right with the car and Honda is not acknowledging it. I also told Honda I am afraid to drive the car now, I feel that if I hit another bump in the road an airbag is going to deploy. It's a scary situation, but Honda does not seem to care about it. Please bring this case to them, as someone there in upper management needs to know that these types of things are going on, and their customer service people just don't seem to care. This should be repaired and covered completely by Honda, as I did nothing wrong, but left with a big mess and a big bill to clean up. Pictures attached. Thank you.

29 Side/window Air Bag problem of the 2012 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 01/16/2018

On Jan 16, 2018 I was driving south on e. Kings, shreveport, la in the right lane of a 4-lane road at approximately 3:40pm. It had snowed the previous day and there were still patches of ice on roadways in many spots. As I approached one of those ice patches at approximately 30mph, which covered both lanes in the southerly direction I was headed, an SUV behind me and travelling the same direction began to pass my vehicle, lost control of his vehicle on the ice and into northbound lane and when he hit dry pavement on that side of road veered sharply right and hit my car broadside with the front right corner of his vehicle. No airbags deployed in the Honda and my head was banged against the inside pillar on drivers side. Collision resulted in damage to the Honda's driver door, left rear door severely damaged and pulled slightly from vehicle; and light damage on left rear quarter panel. Both vehicles remained in motion until the collision. SUV spun again after impact & came to a stop blocking both southbound lanes with front of vehicle facing the northbound lanes. Ii was using my seatbelt as I always do. I find it unbelievable that considering the speed of the SUV when it hit my Honda, the damage it inflicted on the Honda, and the fact it spun the SUV back around completely facing another direction (image SUV 1) that at least the side airbag should have deployed on Honda.

30 Side/window Air Bag problem of the 1995 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 12/20/2017

The contact owns a 1995 Honda Accord. While driving 5 mph, the front passenger side air bag deployed without warning or impact. The contact was unaware if metal fragments were projected when the air bag deployed. A police report was not filed. The vehicle was not diagnosed by an independent mechanic or dealer. The contact scheduled an appointment with scholfield Honda (7017 e kellogg dr, wichita, KS 67207 (316) 688-6400) for diagnostic testing. The manufacturer was not made aware. Of the failure. The failure mileage was 274,799.

Was in an accident, car was totalled. No airbags went off exwct the passwnger side airbag, which no one or anything was in the seat. Was a head on collision. Was moving about 20 to 30 miles an hour. Comung to a stop.

32 Side/window Air Bag problem of the 2004 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 11/15/2017

Takata recall. There is no recall on this model, According to your website. However, an intermittent "side airbag" warning appears most trips, then disappears for a while. The local Honda dealer checked and said there are no recalls for side airbags; therefor there will be a repair charge for analysis and'/or repair. When the warning does come on it typically will start when the key is turned to "start" and stays on for some time, but may go off before the trip is ended.

33 Side/window Air Bag problem of the 2008 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 11/08/2017

My 2008 Honda Accord driver side airbag is currently not under recall, however every other airbag in the vehicle has been recalled and replaced. Therefore I have no confidence that the driver side airbag is safe. I have just received a notice of impending bankruptcy re takata. Do I have recourse for a replacement for a vehicle currently in use, given that the airbag may be defective, and the company is going out of business?.

34 Side/window Air Bag problem of the 2014 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 09/30/2017

The contact owns a 2014 Honda Accord. While driving approximately 25 mph, there was an abnormal noise and the passenger side air bag independently deployed without warning or impact. A police report was not filed. The contact sustained injuries to the right arm and neck, which required medical attention. The vehicle was towed to the contact's residence. The vehicle was later towed to an unknown dealer, but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure, but did not offer any assistance. The VIN and failure mileage were unknown.

35 Side/window Air Bag problem of the 2008 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 09/20/2017

takata recall I had gotten into an collision involving a deer on 10/26/2016. I was going approximately 60 mph when I struck this roughly 110 pound deer. The impact was on my front bumper on the passenger side of my car. When I took it to get repaired I had no other choice but to go with my insurance's geico express facility since all the shops were full from hail damage vehicles. In the estimate and on the repair order I received from geico and amm collision. My vehicle never had the work done to the structure untill 2 months ago. It stated that there were 3 structural components that were worked on. The right rail assembly 4 hours or repair time 60810ta5a00zz (where front and rear panels connect, heavy buckle), the left inner panel 3. 6 hours repair time 04695ta0a00zz(rolled with putter panel, includes time for brackets at the top of frame), and the right front panel (crushed, cost effective to replace)60659ta5a50zz. My vehicle was in the shop for only 2 business days but some how put 41 hours worth of labor into my car. I had gotten into another hit and run on 9/20/17 where my side airbags didn't deploy. I took it back to amm collision where geico tried to total out my vehicle, falsify paperwork by taking off componants(transmission), undervalue then retain my vehicle. When I dropped my vehicle off back with amm collision I had taken pictures of patches of rust on structure componants and broken tack welds. Still today I have broken welds in my car. But the major concern was geico and amm collision trying to hide the fact that they didn't do the repairs to my frame for a whole year. And when I requested the photos of the repairs and measurements from the body alignment machine from the shop, I had the police called on me and I have a felony criminal trespassing warning at amm collision for asking for paperwork that they cannot provide.
