2 Brake Disc Pads problem of the 2019 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 03/24/2021

At 25,000 miles, took car in for routine maintenance, recall 20-039, acc malfunction, and hazard mitigation warning light on dashboard. During inspection on vehicle by technician, was found that front brakes were at 7 mms and rear brakes were at 0 mms. Rear brake pads were completely worn down and rotors were rusted and beyond any repair. Technician and service manager said this was "normal. " Honda corporation would not do anything about it. In talking to several outside mechanics and my knowledge of brake repair, all agree that rear brakes should not completely wear out before front brakes at 25,000 miles. The Honda mechanic stated that doing the recall of reprogramming the bcm would correct problem with acc - adaptive cruise control. This re-programming did not correct the acc problem and actually made it inoperable. We have follow-up appointment to look at acc problem. Dealer said if it happens again, they will have Honda corp. Inspect vehicle. We have on file all routine maintenance inspections recorded in "maintenance & service handbook" and Honda multi point vehicle inspection checklists. Incurred $355 expenditure to replace rear brakes and rotors which should be covered by Honda along with resolution of issue.

3 Brake Disc Pads problem of the 2018 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 03/12/2021

The rear passenger brake pad is worn to nothing. All other pads are fine. I have 22,000 miles on my Honda. Dealership said it was rusted because I live at the beach. If that is true then would there not be problems with all 4. I heard scraping sounds before. The low tire pressure warning has been on. While driving my car, the electronic panel read I needed to pull over immediately and call roadside assistance. The tire pressure was fine.

4 Brake Disc Pads problem of the 2018 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 03/04/2021

The rear brake are completely worn out at 38k miles and the front pads are fine. Dont understand whybthe rear would wear out faster than the front. There was sever damage done to the rear rotator a d had to get replaced.

The contact owns a 2020 Honda Accord. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the vehicle would shake while making a squealing noise when the brake pedal was depressed. The contact stated there was no warning light illuminated. 7 Brake Disc Pads problem of the 2019 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 01/05/2021

My rear break pads are wearing faster than the front break pads. At a 35k miles I had to get new break pads for my car. I drive a lot in the city. It is rare that I take long roads. Probably around 29k miles in the city and 6k miles on the road.

8 Brake Disc Pads problem of the 2020 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 12/19/2020

I bought this car with 7 miles on it. My husband instantly kept saying why is your car shaking when you apply the brakes? I didn't notice before but was, especially if your stopping from a speed of 50mph or more. By the time of my first service it was increasingly worse. I had them check it but they said it was fine. It got worse! I went back again & explained if it was fine we have a problem. They checked it again, said there must be a manufacturer defect with rotors. They machined them & put new pads. The next morning backing out of car port- scrubbing metal sound and squeal. These brakes are faulty and I can no longer trust that Honda cares. I'm trading my car for a maxima in September. I have owned 7 Hondas. This was my first brand ne one. Not good.

9 Brake Disc Pads problem of the 2019 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 10/30/2020

My car rear breaks pads gets bad to quick ever before the front ones. I have to change it in my Honda with only 18,000 miles run.

10 Brake Disc Pads problem of the 2018 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 09/30/2020

Grinding of rear brakes when driving. Took to dealer and they determined 1 of 4 rear inner brake pads was worn. Researched online and found several other complaints in 2020 for the same issue. Dealer treated symptom by replacing worn pad.

11 Brake Disc Pads problem of the 2017 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 05/22/2020

When driving at a very slow speed I can hear what sounds like rubbing. As the car gets up to speed the sound is still there, but not as noticeable with all of the other noises during driving. It sounds like the brakes are getting stuck or have a slow release. There is no visual damage to the rotor or brake pads, but the wheel noise is still there. I've seen many people have this same issue with no fix available. I don't care if its known to happen because of the tire/rim package, or whatever. Fix the issue! this is a recurring issue that no one seems to be on the hunt for the fix. This is a safety issue.

12 Brake Disc Pads problem of the 2018 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 03/09/2020

Rear brake pads are wearing out way faster than the front. Seems it is some type of manufacturing defect. I found out many other owners of this model have the same issue and was informed if enough people file this complaint, they may offer a remedy or recall to correct this issue.

13 Brake Disc Pads problem of the 2019 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 03/07/2020

I was driving for abou 10 min I can see smog coming out of brakes and a message on screen saying brake problems so I stoped the car and I can see the rotors seem to be very worn out I believe it's something with brake pads.

14 Brake Disc Pads problem of the 2018 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 02/25/2020

Only the rear brake pads have completely depleted without any of the other ones being close to depleting. Rotor is now grinding on metal backing plate of pad. Car has been in normal use for 70,000 mi.

15 Brake Disc Pads problem of the 2018 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 10/31/2019

Rear brake pads are wearing quicker than the front, I barley have any life in the rear pads. (wearing out twice as fast as they normally should) just like what happened to the 2008-2010 Accords. Honda looked at the issue and completely ignored it, they told me its dangerous if I dont change them and they didnt say anything about them wearing out quick.

16 Brake Disc Pads problem of the 2018 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 09/30/2019

I went to the dealership for and oil change at 20,000 miles and was told that my rear pads were worn and needed to be replaced. The front pads are fine. This issue was recalled in 2010 and needs to be recalled again.

17 Brake Disc Pads problem of the 2018 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 08/09/2019

When I went to the Honda dealer in 2019 to change my oil, they have said that my rear brake pads need to be replaced even though I have had the vehicle for a couple of months. It was very bizarre to me as the car is fwd and the engine is in the front, thus making more stress on the front brake pads instead of the rear brake pads. Other Honda Accord 2018-2020 owners have complained of this same issue and I hope it can be resolved as it seems that the rear brake pads wear off too fast. The car was stationary at the time of notice.

18 Brake Disc Pads problem of the 2015 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 07/23/2019

Passenger side rear brake capiler seized on a 2015 Honda Accord with only 41,400 miles on the car. Thankfully it didn't cause an accident. Before the failure, brake pads were good and measured 7 on fronts and 6 on the rears. The car had all original equipment and the 3 year manufacturers warranty had ended about 9 months prior to the failure. The failure of the capiler destroyed the brake pad making the brake metal on metal which ruined the rotor. The failure required the car to need replacement of rear capilers, brake pads, and rotors on both rear tires. The safety department should look into defects of the Honda Accord rear braking system because these defects/failures could cause serious accidents and injuries.

19 Brake Disc Pads problem of the 2015 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 05/07/2019

Why is there excessive and uneven rear wheel break pad wear on my 2015 Honda Accord ex-l v-6 ? this car has always been driven significantly more on the highway then in the city. And the worst of the excessive rear brake pad wear occurred during the last 8743 miles. The following break inspections were performed at the dealer where I purchased the car and data came from the ?Honda multi-point vehicle inspection checklist? date mileage lf rf lr rr 11 Nov 15 7008 85% 85% 90% 90% break condition progression 01 Sep 16 15768 85% 85% 90% 90% break condition progression 19 Jun 17 24734 75% 75% 80% 80% break condition progression 19 Jul 18 30291 70% 70% 70% 70% break condition progression 07 may 19 39034 65%, 65% 30% 30% break condition progression (7mm) (7mm) (4mm) (5mm) remaining break pad thickness as of 07 may 19 the car dealer explained to me that the front brakes do most of the stopping but could not explain why the rear brake pads are now wearing faster than the front pads. Except for the rear brake pad wear the multi-point vehicle inspection found on other issues.

20 Brake Disc Pads problem of the 2012 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 05/18/2018

I bought this car brand new in 2012 and to date have had repairs to either replace or resurface rotors with new brake pads 3 times now. It's unreal and very costly. Clearly there is an issue and Honda should do a recall, that's excessive. The first time was when the car was barely 2 years old. Who has to replace rotors in a car that's so young and I'm continuing doing it. It's 2018 and I'm up to 3 times now and only at 83,000 miles. Definitely not living up to the Honda brand.

21 Brake Disc Pads problem of the 2010 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 04/02/2018

Significant rear brake pad wear after only 20,000 miles. Front brake pads still haven't worn 1/4 percent. Rear passenger break wear indicator alarming already. Rear driver side very low too.

22 Brake Disc Pads problem of the 2010 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 02/26/2018

I bought used Honda Accord in 2015. After that, I spent 2 times to replace the brake pads in around 30,000 miles and 1 time I spent for rotor. I emailed Honda about it and I also understand it's about almost 8 years but whenever there was a recall for the brake pads they suppose to change the whole braking system. Now I have a question of keeping or selling the car & if I have to sell the car ( if I am selling it nobody will buy it or I have to tell that person there is nothing wrong with the car. ) another question is Honda is making a mistake I also read about a lawsuit regarding that and there was a settlement but now all the users have to pay around $80 -$100 for every 15,000 to 20,000 miles. I also sent email to Honda that if you want to make sure about the brakes I am ready to out the car. Or just accept that Honda had made cheap technology in the past, so in future, I would rather go for Toyota. The incident didn't happen suddenly and my mechanic also informed me last year this is the problem with Honda and I didn't believe him and now I am about to spend money for the third time and I finally decided to search the reason for that.

23 Brake Disc Pads problem of the 2015 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 01/02/2018

The hand break has come loose it uses to come up only one click but now it goes up 6-7 clicks. Changed rest break pads but no resolution. Also when I activate the hamsbreak the right side goes not seem to engage.

24 Brake Disc Pads problem of the 2009 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 09/14/2017

I bought car cpo and rear pads were supposed to be new. A year later, I started having problems with my rear brake pads (high pitch noise, burnt smell). Took it to a dealership. They charged me over $160. 00 for cleaning and lubricating. A month and a half later - the same problem appears again. Took it to a local mechanic. I was charged $220 for cleaning, lubricating and new brake pads replacement. Two and a half years later, started having problems again. Rusted rear rotors, 20% left of the rear pads. All needs a replacement - $350. 00 bill. I had put a little less than 20k miles for the past two and a half years. Front brakes haven't had an issue and are still usable. It appears that I am not alone and a lot of owners of the same make and model report the same issues. This is so ridiculous. I would like Honda to acknowledge bad design and replace it in the vehicle altogether.

25 Brake Disc Pads problem of the 2008 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 07/01/2017

I hear a grinding sound every time I brake. I saw that Honda settle a class action lawsuit regarding replacing or reimbursing for brake pads that wore out twice as fast. But I called Honda and they told me my car was not covered by this. I have a proximately 54,000 miles on my vehicle. Secondly, my vehicle vibrates or shakes a bit at higher speeds of 65 mph and above on the highway. Not sure if this is a common problem or should be addressed by Honda. Finally, I develop backaches due to the discomfort of the seats which I suspect are not correctly or ergonomically designed. After about 30 to 40 minutes of driving I experience lower back pain which I normally never have. This dissuades me from driving for much longer distances as I remain stiff and need to rest in order to recover from the back pain after driving the vehicle.

26 Brake Disc Pads problem of the 2009 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 05/28/2017

The brakes pads on my 2009 Honda Accord lx are wearing out expectionally fast. Every 6 months. There is a lawsuit pending against Honda for fix. I want to join the class action lawsuit due to Honda selling me a defective product.

27 Brake Disc Pads problem of the 2015 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 05/26/2017

2015 Honda Accord has passenger side rear brake noise problem. Lute riley dealership said this is due to brake pads wear out. However, it is very rare that a new car with less two and half years old and mileage less than 35k has rear brake wear-out. My previous Toyota camry never had rear brake pad out for more than 12 years and > 155k. The Honda rear brake pad problem is due to Honda's rear brake design/fabrication/material problem. Thus Honda should take all the responsibility.

28 Brake Disc Pads problem of the 2010 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 12/15/2015

Tl-the contact owns a 2010 Honda Accord. The contact stated when making a left turn a screeching noise will start. No warning indicators illuminated. 29 Brake Disc Pads problem of the 2012 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 09/10/2015

The 2012 Honda Accord lx has 24000 miles on it. And the right front pads completely wore out. All others pads on car was ok. I replaced front rotors and pads on front. Makes a noise now when brakes are applied. Rotors and pads normally last 60000 miles. What is up with the 2012 Accord. Any recalls on the brake system?.

30 Brake Disc Pads problem of the 2004 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 08/15/2015

The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 252,869.

31 Brake Disc Pads problem of the 2009 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 07/03/2015

I am the original owner of my Honda Accord, and use my car primarily for pleasure driving on weekends and holidays. Recently, I took my car to my local service station for an oil change and safety check, and was informed that the rear disc brakes were completely worn and needed replacement, whereas the front disc brake linings were fine. This information came as a surprise because rear are generally last more than 70,000- 1000,000 miles, and certainly longer the than the front pads. The service station attendant told me that premature wear on rear brake pads is a well- appreciated defect for the 2009 Accord, and Honda is aware of the problem and has even settled a class action suit in 2010 relating specifically to this matter. . 32 Brake Disc Pads problem of the 2012 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 06/09/2015

Please follow up with car manufacturer to fix the break system. Thanks, sassan soltani.

33 Brake Disc Pads problem of the 2008 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 05/22/2015

Have had to have the rear brakes repaired twice since I have owned this vehicle. Once at 57,000 miles and again at 140,000. While I realize that this is now a high mileage vehicle, the front brakes are still the original and when the rear brakes were repaired, the shop estimated I still had 70% life remaining for the front pads. The cost of the repairs at 57,000 miles were partially covered by a class action suit against Honda at the time.

34 Brake Disc Pads problem of the 2003 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 01/02/2015

The contact owns a 2003 Honda Accord. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 70 mph, the front wheel brake pads failed. The failure recurred on multiple occasions. 35 Brake Disc Pads problem of the 2009 Honda Accord

Failure Date: 12/31/2014

I took my Honda in for a routine oil change and was told that my brake pads where very low and had to be replaced. I was shocked to find this out with only 17,660 miles on the car. This could have been a dangerous problem and other owners of this model should be aware.
