On 10/29/2020, while changing lanes, the vehicle abruptly cut the power and slammed the brakes, while flashing "brake" on the instrument panel. There were no vehicle in close proximity in the lane in to which the change was performed. The radar sensor on the vehicle has previously cause a number of issues and this was an extreme case of the cmbs (collision mitigation brake system) reacting improperly. The vehicle deceleration was abrupt to the point of potentially causing the incoming traffic in the new lane impacting the vehicle from behind. Honda's representatives had sworn last winter, when the radar sensor had malfunctioned to the point of causing a catastrophic failure that cascaded to several of the vehicle's safety systems that "issues would not happen again. " that was a lie. . Read more...
This is the third time driving and had the vehicle automatic brakes come on and stop it self. Each time 1 month apart. August 24th 2020 took into mislin Honda in modesto because rear brakes were also making noise. Found out right rear inner pad was completely worn. Mentioned also the auto breaking issue and was told it was a due to the known brake caliper issue. Caliper and brake pad were replaced and was told sensors were reset and should fix auto braking problem. Returned a month later because of rear brake noise again was told brakes were lubed and rotors resurfaced. Tonight again while driving going 40mph no cars in sight vehicle brake message came on and brakes slammed on causing our dog to go flying inside of car. Car is at 35950 miles 2018 and close to being out of warranty feels very unsafe to drive.
While driving to work abs, vbs and steering lights all come on at same time. Brought into the dealer ship as a safety issue. Vehicle had approximately 103,000 miles. Dealer ran diagnostics and reset sensors, said it could be a bad module in the brake system would cost $1800 to replace. Drove car for 2 days all lights came back on. Questioned dealer about module and how common replacement was. They said never replace them. Researched the issue and found that it is very common and causes many issues, dealer/ manufacturer knows of issue and refuses to correct issue in cars with much less miles. Complained to dealer with no response.

I have tried contacting Honda and going to the dealership multiple times to get this taken care of but everything is perfect they say. Just yesterday the car hit the break on it's own when the car on the other side was clearly on the other lane the car made a horrible sudden stop that caused bruising to my neck and also my passenger got hurt with everything that flung from the backseat he said the tug was too much . We thought someone had hit me . This isn't the first time the car has done this I feel I get constant tire pops because of this car veers me off into a lane that isn't even there. I have witnesses that say I have a lemon car I always say no but this last incident was too much for me . Also the charger port not usb has not worked since day one another thing they said was working again nothing . I went back and they said I had no warranties . I have called Honda trying to get to the bottom of this and going to the dealer they said u signed so take care of it . At this point I am in the process of purchasing a new vehicle cash and I am not even 1% intersd in keeping this car . If I have to return voluntarily I will have to . I have been patient but it's absolutely ridiculous that I was put into this vehicle being a supposedly upgrade ? from my 2017 Honda coupe v6 . This car needs a recall on lane departure , sensors , electrical it is not a car I feel safe in . I do not trust to let it drive on it's own and for good reason . What am I paying for then ? I would have crashed into a car by now if I trusted it . I have proof of the three tires I have had to get in the past theee months and I don't drive much at all 9k miles in a whole year . Pics on bottom show how the damage comes from the sides due to the car going straight then making sudden turns that hit curbs . The sensors seem to be getting worse instead of better .

Breaks sensors caution pops on screen for no reason (it's worried for me) 1. - break system problem and 2. - anti-lock system problem. Seat belt from the top adjustment that plastic are annoyed noise as same noise from the center windshield and heater center noise. Who I can be safety if that noise comes from the seat belt? the tachometer is not visible when selecting any option on the information screen. This problems needs to fix and improve.

The brake system alert is flashing on the dashboard while vehicle in motion and there is no break issue. It appears to be a flawed collision mitigation brake system sensor as this keeps flashing across the dash in big bold letters and wont go off. I just bought this vehicle brand new 5 months ago. When turning car off and back on the message is still there and wont go away.
Collision mitigation, lane assist, road departure, and brake system malfunction before vehicle is a year old causing vehicle to leave roadway when using speeds in excess of 50 mph preventing vehicle from stopping, and/or causing steering wheel to "alert" you of lane departure while driving properly also causing vehicle to "steer" into side of 18 wheeler while traveling speeds in excess of 60mph for interstate travel with passengers in tow. Has happened for roughly 7,000 miles. When brought to Honda to be fixed, was told it was not covered under vehicle warranty due to having "clips" broken off of front sensor. Was accused of sensor being hit by something yet no sign of damage. Honda refused to have this fixed and simply "cleared" the alerts causing vehicle to not have use of any safety features but also not show any maintenance codes as well. Honda service manager stated something as simple as a "junebug" can cause this to malfunction and that is why customers carry collision with insurance. States alot about Honda's quality if a simple junebug can cause an entire $30,000 vehicles safety features to malfunction and a service manager not want to comply with safety standards due to some 2$ broken clips that can break by simply driving down a louisiana roadway. What does this state about these vehicles up north dealing with snow with a sensor that sits underneath the front bumper?.
The yaw sensor went out on the stability control system, out taking everything with itabs, stability control, forward collision, lain watch, and the power staring monitor. You could feel the abs motor working for no reason even without braking. Honda replaced the abs control module to fix the problem. My concern is as expensive as it was, I'm worried others will not be able to afford the fix and we will have other cars out there without the basic safety systems in place.
Three times now I have had the emergency breaks activate for no reason. No one was injured the first time as the vehicle was moving very slow. The second time this happened though, I was injured. I was driving approx. 45 mph down a busy street when the car stopped without warning and for no apparent reason. I was nearly rear-ended. Not only did this scare me, but I was in extreme pain afterwards. When the pain got worse and I developed bruising on my neck I went to see a specialist and he confirmed that I have whiplash. When I spoke to the mechanic at the dealership I was told that the sensor is just sensitive. They checked it out but offered no solution. I have kept the feature turned off since this happened. The third time it happened with the feature disabled. My son was in the car with me. We were both shaken up pretty badly. I am now scared to drive this car. Every time the dash lights up for any reason, I flinch. I have had to miss work due to the injuries that I received. I am a single mom to five kids, I cannot afford to miss work due to poor design and engineering of this vehicle. I bought this car thinking that this feature was a safety feature. It has certainly proven to be the opposite!.
On multiple occasions, while driving on the highway, my 2018 Accord has unexpectedly braked when there was no object/car in front of me. When there is car stopped in front of me, the sensors do not kick in for emergency assisted braking. Something is definitely not right with this car.
I purchased my cars about 4 months ago and noticed some issues as soon as I left the dealership. First there's no mileage digital speedometer, only kilometer. As soon as you switch to miles it disappears. Second, the car play system often times resets itself while in driving mode , also happens a lot when gear is shifted. Third, lane sensor system is completely defected as well and cannot be trusted for a second, the worst is the car pool lane, in California is a yellow lane and the car automatically pulls towards it. It obviously cannot detect yellow lines. Today something new happened and completely changed the game for me : the car emergency breaks were activated by nothing and out of nowhere while I was driving on 90 mph !!!!!!! all my stuff were thrown from the back seat to the front and I got seriously injured by the seat-belt that was pushed against me! let me make it clear. . . There were zero cars before me or around me ! thank god for no cars behind me or this citation could have ended differently. I drove the car to the dealership and left the keys over there till they figure it our or give me a different car. I'm scared to go back driving it.
Automatic sensor braking comes on while driving, there are no other cars around or object. While driving the brakes come on and the warning light on the dashboard, there are no cars in front of me or to the side. The car jerks as the brakes are automatically applied, while my foot is on the gas pedal. Then the brake is released, the whole event takes seconds. In fact it has happened when there has been no cars in sight. It has happened mostly on local roads going 45-50 miles, but has occured on a highway going around 65 mph. Purchased car in 2018, starting happening in 2019 and continues untill today. When I told Honda service, they said maybe the sensor for the braking system was dirty. I am concerned an accident will happen, if the brakes go on and there is no car in front but a car in back, its unsafe.
On 2/14/19, I was driving on a city street in a straight line at approximately 40mph. The car ahead of me stopped. I stepped on the brake and instantly the dashboard warnings lit up - adaptive cruise control, collision mitigation braking system, road departure mitigation system, and the brake - and the brake did not work so I could not stop. I rear-ended the car in front of me doing significant damage to the front of my car. The warnings were still visible after the crash and I took pictures of the dashboard as best as possible. The warnings say something about system not working and to see a dealer. The same warnings appeared on 2/13/19 in the afternoon but disappeared on 2/14/19 in the morning. Other warnings of safety systems not active have appeared due to ice/slush but then cleared when the sensors were cleared, but these new warnings are different. At least twice, maybe three times in the past few months, the car would suddenly brake and slow down with nothing in the road or in front of the car. My bluetooth connectivity worked fine for first 2-3 months but then stopped and I couldn't reconnect the phone over the past two months. It seems like more than one system/electronics problem and seems like the warnings appeared at the same time as the brake not working as if it was more than an alert but a system (systems) no longer functioning at all. The brake worked after the accident when the car was restarted.
Collision mitigation braking system problem while on cruise control it will disengage and this error will show up also braking light flashes on and off with nothing around or near the sensors.
I live in rochester NY and even with very light snow that is not even collecting on the roadway I get an urgent notification that crash avoidance and any radar based safety systems are compromised and not available at this time. This is due to the radar unit being interfered with snow collection as it is in the shape of a square cup and it collects snow like a scoop. There is no heating element on the unit at all to keep it clear of snow and it's location is such that it is rendered totally useless in any snow what so ever. BMW, mercedes and Audi all either have hidden their units behind items that are heated for northern climates or the radar unit itself is gently heated below a particular temperature to avoid loosing all safety systems. This is simply not acceptable in a modern car and I would ask NHTSA to look into with Honda recalling all northern cars to change the radar unit to a heated version or to relocate it behind an emblem or something that doesn't collect snow like a scoop. It is a very poor design and impacts all distance and crash avoidance systems present on the vehicle. This is a 2. 0 touring edition with every available option so it is not for a lack of spending money for safety that's for sure. The dealer said they have received many complaints about this same issue and are telling people it's made that way and frankly the sensor should be heated in northern climates. Nice!.
The car has a sensor for breaking. On several occasions I have been driving and the car breaking system comes on making the vehicle come to a sudden stop. During several of these dangerous breaking events no vehicles or objects were in front of me. I have almost been rare ended because of the breaking. I have noticed that even s shadow from a tree can trigger the sensor to make the breaking system turn on making the car come to a sudden stop. This is extremely dangerous and there is no way to turn this feature completely off. When you turn it off it resets once you turn the ignition to start the car again. This recall needs to happen now before someone gets injured or killed.
While driving with the cruise control on the collision mitigation and braking system will intermittently turn off and disable the cruise control. Dealer says nothing is wrong, claim the sensors are overloaded. This can happen on bright sunny days, cloudy days and at night. Sensor on front of car is clean; no bugs, smears or liquids. Will reset with a stop/start of the engine. Code check revealed. Uo401-53 temporary stop of integrated driver support system -- received stop request by pgm-fi system. Error code 401-93 temporary stop of integrated driver support system -- received stop request by pgm-fi system. This happens only when the cruise control is on and moving. This has happened at least 12 times in the past 8 months, most recent was today.
Monday September 24th, 2018, I was traveling on u. S. Highway 19 and a vehicle turned off about a half mile ahead of me while I had the cruise control engaged. The vehicle had completely cleared the road and my car slammed on brakes causing everything in the vehicle to be thrown into the floorboard. Had there been a car behind me, the car would have rear-ended my vehicle. There continues to be an issue where the sensor recognizes something in the road that is not there or a vehicle that has already cleared the road and slams on brakes. This creates a serious safety issue and is damaging on the brakes. I do not feel safe driving with this system engaged because I do not know when the vehicle will slam on brakes causing other drivers to rear-end me.
Car has a safety sensor system called cmbs (collision mitigation braking system) that is supposed to help you avoid collisions. On 2 occasions this braking system has engaged for no apparent reason causing the car to brake abruptly in traffic creating extreme accident potential.
Car was in drive of home, started car and all warning lights stayed on. Would not clear. Drove vehicle to dealership, brakes were barley operable, car was sluggish and power steering almost non-existent. Could have been very dangerous had this happened on the freeway. Dealership first replaced the battery, clearing the codes for a few minutes, the next day they are replacing a bad vsa module that control the abs and other safety functions of the car. The Accord only has 67k miles and these sensors are 1700 plus dollars. Researching, I have found a great deal of these failing -usually when the Honda is in motion. I was fortunate mine was stationary at the time.

Vehicles brakes malfunctioned while driving, causing accident where injuries took place. Driver applied brake but pedal went all the way to the floor with no stop. Instead of stopping the vehicle accelerated from 20mph to 65mph on its own and there was no way of stopping it. Emergency break was then tried, when this did not work, car was put in neutral in hopes that this will slow down cars unwarranted acceleration. It was when vehicle hit a pole causing tire to mangle which caused vehicle to stop, had it not been for this collision with the pole the car would not have stopped even with all the other attempts. All star Honda 414-269-1399 in milwaukee, WI was called to inquire about what might cause break malfunction and acceleration, mechanic by the name of belal indicated that there have been a lot of problems with the break lines of this particular year, make and model. He mentioned that if break line has pressure in it it might cause the line to burst therefore causing the breaks not to work. He could not give an explanation for the acceleration, although other mechanics have told me it can be a number of factors from the throttle position sensor to something electrical or mass air flow sensor etc. Police accident report j9l0xblhkf.

My car has 21,000 miles on it when I discovered that the noise coming from the back of the car was my brake pad wear sensors. They started squealing 1,000 earlier but I did not know it was the wear sensors making the noise because they squealed while driving. There should not have been any brake drag unless the calipers were not working properly. I did find out on the inet that the slider pins were reversed and that was why there was drag on the brakes. This is a safety hazard and also causes less fuel efficiency since the brakes are being applied all of the time. I took the car to the local Honda dealer at the request of Honda customer service and the dealership told me that I had no brake pads left. I called Honda back and they told me that my car was not on a recall list According to my VIN but all of the articles that I read on the inet said that over 750,000 of all 2008-2009 and early 2010 Accords and Acura tsx had the slider pins reversed. There is a document issued by Honda that comes with the new fixed brak pads for the rear wheels states that the slider pins needs to be reversed and the smooth pin should be on top. Mine were originally installed at the factory reversed. Here is an internet link explaining the problem along with the document that comes with their so called "improved Honda rear brake pads for swapping the two rear caliper pins which were installed incorrectly at the factory. . May 4, 2015, 2005 Honda Accord v6 stalled and all systems non-functional while driving. Accord rear-ended a car at rest at a stop sign. In November 2011, the transmission gave out on freeway. Vehicle stayed on and I was able to quickly coast off the freeway, but drive train was out and needed to be replaced (105k miles). This transmission failure seems to be consistent with other NHTSA reports. In April, 2011 the Accord began stalling and all systems failed while the car was in drive and moving. In may, 2012 the dch Honda of temecula found faulty throttle sensor and replaced the part. The vehicle has not experienced this problem again until this failure and accident. I see several reports of Accords stalling on this site. Is this a known problem? my daughter was fortunate this didn't happen when approaching oncoming traffic or the freeway. This seems like a serious safety issue.

Front brake squeal when driving, steering or applying brakes. Sounds like the wear sensors but in fact I was told by the dealer (bay ridge Honda) in brooklyn n. Y. That it is the clips that hold the pads in place. I was also told that Honda is aware of this problem and they are waiting for the repair parts to arrive along with the service bulletin.
I have the same problem as NHTSA id# 10504663 dated 3/27/13. Front brake squeal- sounds like the wear sensors but in fact I was told by the dealer(bayridge Honda) in brooklyn n. Y. That it is infact the clips that hold the pads in place. I was also told that Honda is aware of this problem and they are waiting for the repair parts to arrive along with the service bulliten. Hope it is soon because for a new car it sounds bad and I wonder just what this rubbing of the clips my be doing to the rotors. So far, no real brake problems except for the squeal. I had a 04 Accord exl v-6 and sometimes I wonder why I traded it in. Never had any trouble with it. . . . .
I've experienced many issues with my brakes since my car hit 99,000 miles. I have to replace the brakes every 20,000 miles and now I had an incident where my car would not stop. The engine seemed to just go dead and I could not accelerate the car. I had just gotten off the freeway. The car did not want to stop when I was approaching the red light and would not accelerate. It would only go 5 mph. I pulled off the street, stopped the car and turned it off. I started it again and it went back to normal but I immediately drove to the Honda dealership and they said I have 5 or more sensors that are failing, including the throttle. They said it was unsafe for me to drive and the car is still there. Said it will cost at least $1300 to fix and that may not fix it. I tried to report previous braking issues to american Honda in December 2011 and they dismissed my complaint. Told me I needed to deal with the dealership. Originally, I thought the dealership didn't fix the brakes and just charged me for a service they didn't perform. Now, it seems as though it's a manufacturer defect, which is what I was told today.

My car uses 1 qt oil weekly and makes a grinding noise when starting. Change oil every 7,000 miles and have to add 1 quart weekly. Vsa & oil lights stay on even after clearing the error codes. Replaced the cam shaft sensor which malfunctioned weeks later. Pearson Honda & west broad Honda, richmond va informed me there is no recall for this problem. Unbelievable after reading so many blogs about this issue from other Honda owners. This model Honda is a lemon and Honda needs to repair at no charge to the owner. Replaced wheel bearing on front and now the rear is making a loud noise. Never had a Honda with these many issues. Wanted to trade it for the 2013 and dealer offered me $6,700 for a car I paid $26,000 for. This is ridiculous!.

Required premature replacement of rear brake pads with normal use. Rear brakes wore down to sensors after only 22,000 miles. Original front brake pads are still in very good condition.
I purchase a brand new 2008 Honda Accord. The vehicle was purchase in December 2008. The vehicle was purchase at paragon Honda in queens, new york. When the vehicle had approximately 9000 miles I had to replaced first the rear brakes at time of inspection, six months later the front brakes were down to the metal. I complaint to brooklyn Honda I was told that they had no other customer complaints. Today is the 24th day of October 2011, the sensor on the rear brakes is giving the warning. The vehicle only has 18000 miles. No thought that Honda made a mistake on the 2008 Accord brakes, they do not want to accept the blame.
