Engine Rattling And Whining Sounds Problems of Honda Accord - part 2

Aug 2015 heard a rattling noise from the engine. Checked the dipstick and the engine was almost out of oil. This was in between oil changes at 3700 miles. I took the car in and had an oil change. I received a notice from Honda about oil consumption issues. I began the oil consumption test with the dealer. So far, twice it has been down . 75 qts. Over 5k miles that would place the engine down 3. 75 qts or almost dry, but Honda says that's normal and I should be adding oil myself. That is ridiculous!!! why send out the notice and extend the warranty then. Honda knows that this is an issue, but does nothing to fix the issue. I've read that it is worn piston rings do to a vcm timing issue. Why is that the customers problem? the settled this owners of the v6, but told owners of the 4cyl to pound sand. This issue requires a recall. This is my first and last Honda Accord.

Engine rattling noise vtc issue. It is very annoying especially on clod start in the morning. I live in a complex and many neighbors complained about the irritating noise that my car makes before it starts. I have taken the car to a technician and he mentioned me the problem is a manufactory issue. I found tremendous amounts of Honda Accord from 2008-2012 with similar issue. I would like to complain about the problem that I faced with to Honda. In addition I have not done any repair regarding this problem so far and I was told that only Honda can fix that.

The engine of my Honda Accord 2008 started to having the rattle and scratching sound when it reached 32000 miles. The engine also started to fail as the rattle sound gets serious. I called Honda USA multiple times, but they said that they will not cover this issue because the car was made in 2008 and I'm filing this complaint in 2016. I think Honda USA is trying to avoid this defect of Accord 2008, since numerous people have had the same issue.

Excessive oil consumption. I am putting 1-2 quarts oil every 3000 miles, even though the oil life indicates 80% or better. I bought this car new and just noticed this about 9 months ago. The oil is not leaking, it is just gone. Also when I start the car first thing in the morning or when is is cold, the top of the engine makes a rattling noise. There is also a loud pronounced noise that sounds like it is either the engine or the transmission, something doesn’t sound right. I am taking it to the dealer to have it checked out.

There is a loud rattling noise coming from the engine (which lasts for a couple of seconds) when I start the car. The noise worsens in loudness and duration in the cold weather.

8/11:certified pre-owned purchased from Honda dealer at 35787 mi oil changes: 3/15/2012: 41659mi; 9/6/2012: 48687mi 7/1/54340mi-oil pressure warning light and rattling noise appears;vehicle immediately taken to suburban Honda dealer (farmington hills, mi);no diagnostic codes given. Only explanation was the oil level was too low and the noise disappeared when oil was filled. No explanation for suspected leak/excessive consumption despite last oil change being just 6000mi back 3/18/14:oil pressure warning light flashes once and car was not started until I made an appointment with suburban Honda on 3/20/2013 3/20/62450 mi- within 0. 25mi of my way to dealer, the oil pressure light flashes in the middle of a signal intersection and engine fails amidst heavy traffic thereby, compromising my safety. On 1st notice(7/13), dealer completely neglected my concerns for oil leak/malfunction which led to massive engine damage (estimate $8000). Negligence led to engine failure on road causing massive compromise to my safety. Death could have been imminent if my car stalled on a freeway. Honda has a design flaw resulting in excessive oil consumption noted by multiple customers. Dealer did not recommend an oil consumption test despite oil levels reaching critical levels within 6000mi of previous oil change. I was informed Accord consumes 1 quart of oil/ 1000mi and since my mileage was beyond Honda limits, I'm to be held responsible. Dealer mentioned that ¿apology� is what they can offer and that ¿no cost will be on dealer since it is not their responsibility�. Official rep of american Honda stated that this is purely a maintenance issue and that they do not possess ownership of dealer and have nothing to say reg irresponsibility of the official Honda dealer. Honda's design flaw&irresponsible dealers neglecting this issue could result in severe bodily injury or death.

I bought a new 2010 Honda Accord at marin Honda in larkspur, California on Sunday 1/31/2010. But I did not pick up the car until Monday 2/1/2010 because the car was "not prepared" on Sunday evening. I drove the car home from the dealer in the afternoon on 2/1/2010 and I began to notice a rattling noise coming from the hood on driver side. I brought the car back to the dealer on Tuesday morning where a mechanic suggested that the noise maybe coming from the defective housing unit of the windshield wiper. The mechanic ordered the new part but it will not be available until next week. The noise has been persistent and getting stronger/louder when I applied the brake and when the car is idling at intersection. The steering wheel also appeared to shake whenever this loud rattling noise came out. I am afraid that this problem maybe more that just a defective housing part of the windshield wiper, hence I am reporting this to assure that electrical problem or brakes problem are not the issue for Honda (in lieu of what is going on with Toyota cars at the present time). Please let me know if you had similar complaints for the new model Honda Accord. I had been a loyal customer of Honda but this incidence is making me very concerned about their quality assurance service before releasing new cars into the market. My 2008 Honda Accord ex-l started making a small rattle noise in December 2009, the car sales man said it was because the car needed to warm up and because the car was sitting for a while. A couple years later I brought the vehicle in and had it checked, but the dealer did not hear the sound. This was not documented by the Honda dealership. In June of 2012, I brought the vehicle to the dealer again after I noticed the sound more frequently. They let the vehicle sit over night and informed me the next morning that the vtc actuator needed to be replaced. At this time I had exceeded my extended warranty of 100,000 miles. The vehicle was at approximately 105,000 miles when the dealership diagnosed the problem. On October 3, 2012 my oil light flashed on and then back off. I had my father to check the oil and there was absolutely no oil in the chamber. I immediately went and purchased 3 quarts of oil until the next morning when I was able to bring the vehicle to the Honda dealer. I called sterling mccall Honda and explained the issue that I was experiencing and was scheduled an appointment to have to vehicle checked first thing in the morning. After speaking to the rep, I began researching the issue and found that several complaints were on the exact same issue. (the rattle at a cold start up and oil consumption issues relating the vtc actuator. ) after doing more research I obtained a service bulletin about the rattle at cold start up and found a court document relating to a class action lawsuit filed in March 2012 relating to the faulty vtc actuator. The next morning October 4, 2012 I brought the vehicle in, had the oil changed and asked for a goodwill consideration. After speaking to a Honda service rep about the issue he stated that he doubt the possibility of getting a goodwill consideration because of the high mileage on the vehicle. I was not assisted in getting repai.

This 2003 Honda Accord has caused me a lot of problems since the beginning I bought it. Just after 2 weeks with around 500 miles all this rattling noises started coming from the doors and windows. I took it to the dealer, they fixed it, but the problem was back less than a week after. Today I have 14000 miles on my car and I have been to the dealer more then 20 times for this problem. They have replaced the run channels and other parts without any success. Also the interior is falling a part; the middle compartment is not working. The cd compartment gets stuck all the time. The engine is making a lot of noise, feels like its actually sitting in the passenger side next to me. I know this is not the quality Honda has, my wife has a 1996 Accord and it doesnt make as much noises as mine, and it also runs better. Honda needs to take quality seriously. And help me out with this lemon car.

There was a rattling sound near the rear door and passenger seat, however the dealer could not duplicate the problem, also the vehicle stalled on numerous occasions.
