36 Suspension problem of the 2022 Honda Civic

Failure Date: 09/20/2022

As a longtime Honda owner, I've had 6 other Honda vehicles, I purchased this vehicle for my son when he turned 16. As a new driver, he did not recognize the steering problems that I did the first time I drove the vehicle and this happened :( this is very scary for a parent but I recognize he may not have known different. Soon after I purchased my new vehicle, I noticed the steering seemed "stiff". I would be driving the vehicle and would feel like there was no power steering. I would be 'jerking the wheel' in order to try and correct the steering. I would constantly be gripping the wheel in order to steer the vehicle, even on straight, highway roads. I stopped allowing my son to drive the vehicle because of my safety concerns. I would attempt to set the cruise control so I wouldn't have to be 'fighting the wheel' and after a short amount of time with cruise control on, cruise control would automatically shut off for no apparent reason. This issues happened on multiple occasions. I took the vehicle to my dealer, over 80 miles one way, on multiple occasions. I showed them video of the steering issues that the passenger took when this would occur. They couldn't get the problem to duplicate. Finally after the third trip to the dealership, they submitted for warranty request to replace the steering column. On the fourth trip, the steering column was replaced. This is obviously a major safety concern!.

46 Suspension problem of the 2022 Honda Civic

Failure Date: 01/10/2022

My 2022 Honda Civic has been having issues with the eps rack and parts. There has been a recall on this part on the Honda Civics and unfortunately my vehicle was not on the list of cars that was made in the manufacturing time. My car is extremely hard to turn the steering wheel while driving and it causes my cruise control steering system to not work correctly almost causing many accidents. I have also had to buy 2 new sets of tires as it has caused them to wear down faster. Ive had alignments and the car will still steer me to the right direction. The front tires rub very harshly when I need to make a turn. When turning it makes many noises. When I go start to go about 45mph the car will start shaking very harshly until 80mph. The car started to shake and make clunking noises about 6 months in to me having the vehicle and the Honda dealership said it was normal and the issues continued to get worse. As soon as I saw the recall come out I quickly scheduled an appointment for it to be looked at just for my specific car to not be on the list but have all issues that the recall is creating on these vehicles. This is very dangerous as I have small children and the issues continue to worsen.

47 Suspension problem of the 2021 Honda Civic

Failure Date: 11/05/2021

2125 miles on this type r, fresh off the show room floor. At low speed turning into the slight dip in my driveway, the suspension in sports mode flexed enough for the driver side tin rotor back plate at the driver front wheel to get caught on the lower control arm. Drove it to Honda, and yes, they confirmed that this had happened, that the thin tin plate had indeed become stuck on the lca! screeching like you cannot believe b/c when this happens, the top of the plate is flexed onto the top of the brake rotor and it goes metal to metal. Honda told me they have no idea how this happened but myself, a professional mechanic can clearly see exactly what happened. Honda tried to bill me for this warranty repair to the tune of $475. I told them "no!" they backed down. Yes, this vehicle is available for inspection any time you want. And yes, I can make the problem happen again just by hitting the dip while making a left-hand turn into my driveway.

Since 2016 I've been having problems with the brakes. We fixed them and the problem cames back. When I press the brake pedal at times it does not work. My mecanic said that behind the brakes, there is a hose that needs to be purged, but every time they try to do that, it does not work. There is no flexibility on the hose. We've attempted fixing this several times and it works for a day and then the next day it does not work. Please let us know if there is a way we can fix this. I'm afraid this issues has endangered my life several times. I cannot drive it anymore, but I only have this car. The latest issue was today. After having it at the shop for over a week, I was driving my car out of the my drive way and the brake would not work. I've parked it outside my home. Thank you,.

62 Suspension problem of the 2017 Honda Civic

Failure Date: 07/27/2018

Ijuly 2017 is when I first noticed my car automatically re-setting while I was driving down the florida turnpike at legal speed of 70 miles an hour! all of a sudden the car's dashboard illuminated with every colored warning light & a spinning-doted circle light as if car computer was searching for a signal or being remotely reset! the radio turned off, the screen went black, the computer dashboard flashed until finally the h Honda logo appeared on the radio screen resetting itself. Scaring me to believe the car was shutting down or about to malfunction while I was driving! three months later the radio, satellite, side mirror camera, rear backup camera every thing associated with the computer brain of this car completely went out! nothing can be reset through the radio as it's just stuck. Honda dealership has no explanation other replacement for safety! dealership reached out to Honda for assistance as I've exceeded 36,000 mile complementary warranty. Honda actually took responsibility for this malfunction at first, stating they would pay/cover majority of cost leaving balace of $300. I found this to be crazy, as this electical malfunction was no fault of my own & should initiate recall! as I now have no way of knowing if all system warning lights are error or actual safety warnings! I have no rear camera or side mirror camera due to this radio/computer malfunction! this is a danger driving this car so I contacted Honda and explained I was willing to pay the $300 for replacement. Only to be told their offer to pay/cover malfunction errors was no longer on the table, giving no reason why offer was revoked! the claims adjuster and her manager then very rudely & disrespectfully hung up the phone! I feel unsafe everytime behind the wheel of this car! please aid in establishing a recall.

The fix could run over $2,000. 00 . This alert flashes and beeps, annoyingly, while auto is stationary and moving, it flashes constantly now for the last 7,000.

67 Suspension problem of the 2011 Honda Civic

Failure Date: 01/22/2018

My vehicle's rear passenger camber is significantly out of spec, and has been as such at least since 5/2/2014 / 35522 miles. As a result, I have excessive tire wear on tires in that position. My current mileage is 81k. Indication from Honda service is that read camber is not adjustable on my vehicle. I am not the original owner of vehicle -- I purchased it 6/17/2016. I recently learned that previous owner had 4 wheel alignment performed on 5/2/2014 by a Honda service center, which did not bring rear passenger camber into spec. While it appears the vehicle was within 3yr/36k mile warranty, no repair was performed -- I do not know why. I can provide copy of the repair paperwork. I contacted Honda America customer care and opened a case with them on this issue. I did so to seek assistance with repair costs since the issue was present during original warranty period. Their responded that they would not help (I. E. , would not assist in repair costs) since I purchased vehicle as-is and wasn't owner during the time the issue would have been covered under warranty. They also said there were no related recall campaigns. On a related note, I previously owned a 2007 Civic GX which experienced the same exact same problem. In that case, Honda America customer care assisted with diagnosis and cost of repair. After their techs discussed with service mechanics, it was determined that the vehicle's rear passenger spring had failed.
