Tl the contact owns a 2019 Honda Cr-v. While driving 35 mph, the vehicle stalled and the check engine indicator illuminated. The vehicle was towed to Honda of joliet (3225 plainfield rd, joliet, IL 60431, (815) 439-2222) where the spark plugs and oil were changed. After the repair, the vehicle was started and backfired. Black smoke appeared from the exhaust pipe. The vehicle was taken back to the same dealer, but the cause of the failure could not be determined. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The VIN was unknown. The failure mileage was 100,000.

Oil dilution problem. Gas getting into oil. Honda "fix" did not work; same issue 300 miles after fix applied. Engine idling rough (especially during first start after sitting overnight), oil level rising in car, when you check the oil it smells like gas, fuel smell in cabin periodically, engine hesitating/stalling while trying to accelerate. Have visited dealership twice within 30 days for this problem with no resolution.

Yesterday I got in my car to head home from work. When I turned it on, I got a number of systems alerts, including the engine, brakes, power steering and others. I was able to get the car home, but when I was going to take it the dealership, the car sputtered and seems to be losing power as if it would stall. This is the third time that I have gotten system alerts and taken the car to be repaired. The first time, the oil was changed and a software update performed. The second time, a software update was performed. This time, I checked the oil and it was over full and smelled of gas. The car is now at the dealership for them to determine the issue. I live in texas. The first time this happened, was during the summer. The last two times have been in winter.
Went to local Honda dealer for regular oil change maintenance. After completing, noticed car seemed to be stalling and slow/non response in accelerating. By the time I got home about 7 miles away, all warning lights came up and car would not accelerate and go more than 5 mp/h. Very fortunately this happen near my home where traffic is light. Would have been very dangerous if it had occurred on highway.
Fuel in the oil, slow warmup and stalling.

Tl the contact owns a 2017 Honda Cr-v. While driving approximately 55 mph, the vehicle stalled and the brake, power pressure, cruise control, and lane assist warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was turned off, restarted, and taken to vann york auto mall (422 eastchester dr, high point, nc 27262, 336-841-6200) for diagnostic testing. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and referred to contact to the dealer. The vehicle was not repaired. The diagnosis information was not available. The failure mileage was 24,100. The VIN was not provided.
Car temperature gauge was not heating up properly. In cold weather when ideling would not move from cold position, therefore produce no heat. When driving it at 35miles an hour gauge would go up some ,and when slowing to 25 miles gauge would drop back down to cold, with no heat. Car would also stall after it was started and left in park when I would get in to put it in drive. This would all happen during cold weather. Honda did the recall because they found the gas and oil mixture problem. Did an oil change and did the recall update on control panel and software. Got the car back and it is still having the same problem with the temperature gauge dropping down to cold and loss of heat, when driving short trips. Honda said they could not figure out how to fix it.
The car began stalling and would not drive over 10 mph. Smelled terribly and all warning lights went off. Only 2,768 miles.
Observed high engine oil level; almost an inch over the high level mark on dipstick with gas odor. Honda advised to get it checked out at the dealer. Took it to dealer on 2/4/19 at 21152 miles. They found oil level high with gas smell. But did not do anything saying that Honda is working on a software update. There is a software update issued by Honda as service bulletin 18-114. But mine does not qualify for any update. Honda case manager advised to take it back if stalls or engine light comes on. I am concerned about engine lubrication problems and thereby reduced life of engine and possible emission problems down the road once warranty expires. Concerned danger of vehicle stalling in the middle of traffic as well. On cold start engine vibration feels at the steering. Takes time for the engine to heat up.
1/8/2019 - smelled sulfur from exhaust. Made appointment to bring the car in for the oil/gas recall repair. 1/16/2019 - recall repair. 1/19/2019 - smelled sulfur, this time in the car while driving. 1/20/2019 - twice, while idling, the engine knocked and felt like it was about to stall though it did not.
At approximately 5000 miles I changed the oil in our 2018 Cr-v (for the first time) and realized there was approximately 1. 5 quarts too much oil (it wasn't all oil, gasoline had diluted the oil). We have an appointment today at the Honda dealer in grand island, ne to have them 'install updated injector software and something concerning the a/c regulator (they said).
There has been several stalled engine incidents while driving on a city street and also stationary at a red traffic light. No engine light has turned on leading to a wiring issue perhaps. Not so much a mechanical issue more so electrical of software related. It is unknown when the engine will turn off. There are two recall associated with stalled engine for Honda Cr-v 2010. There are the ignition circuit coupler failure (11v004000) and the automatic transmission control module software (11v395000) however my VIN is not apart of that recall. I am scared and fear for my life that this stalled engine issue will cause my car to get into an accident or even worst have someone else and I get killed.

Stalling, loss of engine power, smell of gas in the passenger compartment, audio display erratic, all while car is in motion; front running lights blinking when foot on brake. Problems occur in cold weather.
Oil mixing in the engine to the extent that may very well install the engine while driving in the high way. Honda corp need to get this issue fixed to prevent it happen.
On multiple occasions for the past year, this car has stalled when you press the gas pedal. You press the gas, the car "chugs," and either slows down and has to catch up to itself, or it completely shuts off. It happens pulling out of the driveway, at stop signs, and intersections. We've brought the car to the dealership multiple times, and they can't find the problem. It even stalled on their tech once, but they still couldn't fix it. They suggested replacing the battery, so we did, and nothing changed. This is incredibly dangerous, and nobody at the dealership or the corporate office did anything to address the issue. I believe this car should be recalled and off the road immediately.
3-month-old 2018 Cr-v ex-l - noticed oil dilution problems within first 2 months. Dealer has been unresponsive. Gas has been getting into oil in apparently significant amounts. Persistent smells of gas and 'rotten eggs/meat' while operating. Oil level gets higher above measuring section of dipstick every time I check, smells of gas. Car begins to stall a bit occasionally. Had oil changed at 5k miles - tech confirmed oil was very thin, higher volume than should be, and smelled of gas. Very concerned about safety now (what if it stalls while in heavy highway traffic?) and also long-term engine damage since diluted oil will not lubricate as well. Researched online only after discovering problem - apparently well known problem, and widespread - but barely acknowledged by Honda.
Purchased the 2018 Honda Cr-v ex-l new from pearson Honda, midlothian va. 23112. Shortly after the purchase I noticed the odor of gas inside the vehicle. During December 2018, I called the dealer complaining that there was a strong odor of gas in the engine oil. I was advised to bring the vehicle in and they offered to change the oil free of charge. I researched on the internet and discovered that Honda knew about this engine defect during 2017 and still installed the defected engines in the 2018 Cr-v. Honda has issued a recall to correct the problem, but not for vehicles registered in va. I contacted the dealer and was advised to keep bringing in the vehicle after a short period of time for additional free oil changes. This is not acceptable and any assistance from you will be greatly appreciated. Second issue: while traveling on the interstate at speeds over 50mph without warning the vehicle would brake very hard, usually as a second vehicle is being over taken in the right lane. I reported this situation to the dealer and was advised the sensors are just very sensitive. This is a sporadic problem.
I have been getting a strong gas odor inside the car and the oil level was above the full mark, smelled strong of gas and was a dark color for being brand new with 3,000 miles. I brought to the dealer and they installed campaign recall #18-114 that included software update and a a/c control. I drove car 5 days and while driving on a busy road the car filled with gas fumes that was overwhelming I had to put all windows down and pull over to air the vehicle out and make sure it wasnt going to be a fire hazzard. I have reported issue to Honda factory and will be going to the dealer 12/19/18 to adress the issue again.
Gasoline into my engine, stalled on highway last year. .
Oil dilution. When checking the level of my oil, it is way overfull on the dipstick. I took it to the dealer ( roush Honda - medina ), and was informed that yes, the oil level is high, and they confirmed oil dilution where the oil is diluted with gasoline. They informed me that it is normal and does not pose a problem. I do not believe them, I have read of instances where peoples Cr-v's have stalled out, and of premature engine wear. I do not feel safe driving this vehicle. Gasoline in the oil can not be right.
Upon removing the oil cap, there is a very strong odor of gasoline. After further research we found that this seems to be a problem this make and model of vehicle made by Honda. We will be contacting the service department at our local Honda dealer where the vehicle was purchase 10/2017. This vehicle has been driven about 1,500 miles. Very concerned about the reported stalls and long term effect of the engine itself. I am also concerned with potential of the vehicle stalling and losing both power steering and abs. I want this issue on record with the NHTSA.
Vehicle has 1. 5 l turbo engine and gas is diluting the engine oil. Level has risen 10 mm above the last oil change level done 4/19/18, after 5070 miles. Some owners have reported this to NHTSA as a vehicle stalling problem, which I believe is a safety issue. This has not happen to us, but I am concerned that it could. I reported it to my local Honda service at ganley Honda of n. Olmsted, OH. They seemed to be unaware of this potential problem, even though consumers reports did an extensive article on the 1. 5 l oil dilution problem.
The car has a serious engine issue associated to the 1. 5 l turbo engine. The engine is unable to warm up up properly in cold weather states and therefore is unable to output an adequate amount of heat that is required to keep the cabin warm for the owner. The engine is also diluting gasoline into the oil reservoir leading to a gasoline smell when checking oil levels. This oil dilution is going to cause extensive wear within the oil reservoir since it's not supposed to be there under proper and normal conditions. There have been cold morning on which I have accelerated and felt the vehicle stall and I feel the oil/gas mixture is to blame for this dangerous and life threatening defect of this engine. I'm afraid to accelerate in traffic conditions that may cause me to get rear ended and injured/killed due to stalling the vehicle while in motion on a city street or highway. Honda will not acknowledge that this is a problem with their 2017 crv and newer since the manufacturer states it is normal operating conditions to have oil and gasoline mixing. I would like to have a buyback of this vehicle and be done with this brand for the failure to correct this and poor judgement to continue to selling this vehicle.
I was driving north on hwy 86 from the city of imperial CA. When I set my cruise control at 65 mph suddenly start going up and down with the speed ( going up to 67 and down to 64) with no vehicles in front of me. I arrive to my house and after hearing problems with the stalling on the Cr-v models , my husband check the oil and it smell a lot to gasoline.
Repeated loss of power / stall. Checked fluids and oil dipstick level is high and smells strongly of gasoline.
I purchase a 2017 Honda crv-ex with the 1. 5 liter turbo engine. During the past 6 months I've been having the following problems with my vehicle the oil smell of gas, passenger compartment smell like gas, rising oil levels, stalling and loss of power. I understand that Honda motor company , ltd has recalled 350,000 Honda crv's in china because of the same problem. The company is calling back those cars to resolve a problem caused by an unusual amount of un-combusted petrol collecting in the engine's lubricant oil pan. Honda dealerships in canada with oil dilution problems have already started repairs of their 2017 & 2018 Honda Cr-vs after it was contacted by canadian motor vehicle arbitration plan (camvap). I would like Honda to buy back my vehicle unless I received the same repairs as the canadian Honda owners, which are the following: 1. ) performed n60 campaign (oil dilution) 2. ) replaced climate control unit 3. ) replaced drain plug washer 4. ) replaced oil 5. ) updated pgm-fi and tcm software. 6. ) warranty extensions on all engine components for up to six years from original date of purchase, with no mileage limit. Given that the problem is well documented, Honda has a responsibility to address the issue in an open and transparent manner. Honda had knowledge of the turbo engine defects that cause fuel to enter the engine and did absolutely nothing for an entire year. I seek a permanent fix to the problem, not just a flushing out of the vehicle's oil reservoir as the dealership has already performed to no effect. If Honda cannot remedy the problem, I seek a full refund of my vehicle.
1. 5l turbo engine- changed oil at 5200 miles tech said "very dirty". At 7200 miles/6 months- almost stalled in traffic 3 times. All three times I had to brake suddenly. Smell of gas in the cab once. I checked the oil, after 2000 miles since last changed- oil was black and smelled like gas. Dropped it off at the dealership- they have had it over a week. They seem elusive in updates. Tell me nothing is wrong one minute, it's ok the oil was that dirty, but then they "updated the electrical system" and changed the oil. Again they said- nothing is wrong, but they want to keep it one more night to test drive it and Honda has a solution to my problem coming soon.
Our crv is one that has the problem of gas getting into the oil. We have three evidences of this: 1) the oil level is much too high; 2) the oil smells like gas; 3) the engine from time to time has not run or idled properly, although we have not experienced any stalling. Yesterday I took the car in to our dealer and requested an oil change under warranty as we view this as a defect, and Honda refused to cover the cost of this. The dealer graciously agreed to a one-time free oil change as a courtesy, but I feel Honda should have covered this. No matter what their experts say, gasoline in the oil cannot be good for the engine! we are told that a fix is in the works, but Honda should have notified us of the problem!.
Started noticing engine knocking in the first 500 miles. Vehicle only has 2,509 miles mostly freeway driving. Purchased April 2018. First drove it in April 409 miles round trip, and then again in may, same mileage and again in August. Only started driving it daily to and from work 16 miles round trip in September and it had 1600 miles. I then drove it on October 400 miles round trip and now I smell gasoline in car and it stalled on me while trying to make left turn in intersection. Also lights around mirror do not stay on. I don't think I should be smelling gas. Not sure what to do.
My car has stalled twice immediately on cold start. This is an issue as both times it resulted in unexpected rollback, as my garage is on a slope, and it seemed like the brake pedal was still "locked" like in engine off mode, so I rolled back despite pressing the pedal. This could be a serious safety consideration if I had people around my car.
I have taken my vehicle to the local dealer multiple times over concern with gasoline mixing with the engine oil. On my first visit, they asked me to pay for an oil change and they would mark the level of oil. The dealer verified the changed oil level was exactly at the full line on the dipstick. Less than a week later I noticed a strong smell of gasoline and took the vehicle back to the dealership. They checked and verified that the oil level had increased by 1/2" and said they would contact Honda tech support. Two days later they sent me a message saying this was perfectly normal. I have noticed decreased engine performance and am concerned about stalling and significant engine damage.
My concern of reports regarding gas in oil of 2017-2018 Cr-v 1. 5 turbo. Reports of stalling, engine damage, give me little comfort that it only happens on short trips and cold climates when we live in iowa. This is my second Honda and bought again because of its previous reliability. We have 381 miles on this car. (232 at time of purchase on 10-11-18. No warning was made of this possible problem before purchase. We are "counting on" Honda taking responsibility and correcting.
Repeated stalling and safety systems going haywire.
