2 Cooling System Pump problem of the 2016 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 07/08/2023

The contact owns a 2016 Honda Cr-v. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle stalled without warning. The contact then stated that that he noticed a white cloud of smoke at the hood of the vehicle that started to turn into a thick cloud of gray smoke that started to enter through the cabin. No warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the contact’s residence then towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed that the water pump failed and caused the drive belt to overheat, and the water pump needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was provided a case number. The failure mileage was approximately 72,100.
