I purchased a 2017 Honda brand new from my local dealer on 9/28/2017 I had the oil changed as required . A few months ago I had a oil change done at the dealer at the same visit they did a fuel injection software upgrade. Since the upgrade my engine runs very rough when first started this never happened be fore the upgrade. The reason for the upgrade was that there was gas getting into the oil causing the oil level to rise which stated in the owners manual can cause engine damage. Today I listened to my engine and the ticking noise is getting much loader than when I purchased the car . Iam very concern that there is engine damage its seems that Honda is in no hurry at all fixing the problem and when they do its going to be to late and the engine will be ruined.

Alarm will go off randomly. Clicking lock/unlock on the key fob does not turn the alarm off. Inserting the key into the door was the only way to turn the alarm off. The message "keyless start system problem" was displayed on the dash when I entered the car. I turned my car on, but when trying to turn the car off, there were clicking noises, the dash flickered repeatedly, and the car would not turn off. It took about 15 minutes of clicking the push start/stop button to get the car to turn off. It was towed to Honda (tow truck driver had trouble getting the car onto the bed because all of the safety braking features were randomly activating) and Honda replaced some wiring and said I was good to. Two days later the car wouldn't start. Had it towed to Honda again and they said it was a bad battery. They replaced the battery and sent me on my way. The next day the alarm went off again, same issue with not being able to turn it off, and the same keyless start system problem was on the dash. I started the car, then turned the car off, went into the house, and the alarm went off again 15 minutes later. I disconnected the battery and will take it back to Honda tomorrow. Note, when I popped the hood to disconnect the battery, the electricity turned back on in the car by itself. I now suspect the electricity is turning on by itself and after sitting idle for a while the alarm activates.
Driving highway speed. Suddenly vehicle begins to violently hesitate and then slows and will not accelerate (more than 10 mph). Indicators read that all systems have failed. Pulled over and shut vehicle down. Would not restart. Called emergency roadside assistance for towing to dealership. Was told by dealer that Honda stated it is a common issue in cold weather (I live and purchased the vehicle in northern WI - lame excuse. Whey sell them here if they don't work in the cold). The dealership replaced the fuel injectors and various other engine parts. I also had to have the satellite radio receiver replaced (it burnt out). There was fuel in the engine oil. All this with less than 4,000 miles on the 2017 Honda Cr-v. No longer have confidence in the vehicle. It runs now, but the engine is much louder with a noticable clicking noise that wasn't there when I first purchased the vehicle. I was planning a maiden voyage from WI to seattle, wa (to visit elderly mother who lives there) but lost confidence in the vehicle's reliability. What is my fix for this? dealership balked at the suggestion of replacing the vehicle with another one. Overall, I think this is a dangerous issue to have an automobile completely fail in traffic. Limping off the roadway at a maximum possible speed of 10 mph in highway traffic conditions is a recipe for disaster and the makings for possible fatal consequences. Honda should be looking seriously into this issue and not making lame excuses like this happens to the Cr-v in cold weather (bullshit). They should also be providing compensation to owners who purchased these lemons in good faith expecting the dependability of a brand new vehicle, paying (in my case) at least $29,000. 00 for that expectation and not ending up with something that dumps fuel into the engine oil and threatens the safety of me and my (3) passengers at the time.
Vehicle: 2017 Honda crv touring - 5 miles when purchased on 05/01/2017 - 2,000 miles when I first noticed there was a problem. I am at about 6,000 miles now. Initially I noticed a clicking sound emanating from the engine get louder over time. Additionally, in the winter, heat took a long time to come on. I was following a crv forum (hondacrvowners. Com) and noticed a lot of people start mentioning fuel in the oil. Then saw news articles about a huge crv recall in china's cold climate areas with the same symptoms. I then began checking the oil frequently and noticed a definite fuel smell on the dipstick and rising above the full mark. I have not noticed a fuel smell in the cabin, fortunately, as some have complained about, but this is not good for an engine. Two Honda dealers have told me they are aware of the issue, but not to worry about it and to check the oil since no lights are on and scans show no problem. Of course! no problems yet, but most drivers don't check their oil and won't notice a problem until the engine completely fails and puts the occupants' lives in danger.
1:l. S suspension is making clunky noise for long time. This problem was on and off but now its continuously making noise while I drive to a bumpy or small broken road. 2:engine was making roaring noise then I follow up with dealer with my recall notice. I don't know they fix it or not but still making this noise. 3:smell solid fuel/gasoline from the exhaust system. Full tank gas giving me only 178 miles range but I'm not able to drive 150 miles even. I always take the silver gasoline which is $38 dollars for the full tank. Sometimes more and more this is the biggest problem of car and my financial. I think my fuel is leaking and this could be something else. Credit karma showing me I have 3 open recalls which is one of them. But I didn't receive any mail any email or notification from them.
Our 2014 Honda crv has been making a clattering noise at start up for the past several months. Apparently there is a well know defect with the vtc accurator and yet Honda hasn't alerted consumers to this defect or issued a recall. I am writing you to alert you or to add to other complaints you have received regarding this issue. If they don't notify consumers, then the warranty period can go by and then the consumer is left with the bill. Thank you.

My wife and I purchased the 2015 Cr-v ex-l awd on January 5 2016 at staten island Honda. After only 11 days and 300 miles on vehicle as we were driving for a ski vacation I noticed a crackling noise when I would turn the steering wheel in either direction. I then noticed that none of the steering wheel controls worked or the radio. In addition to this my horn didnt work and my bluetooth would constantly say (htc is ok ) both my radio interface screens would always flash different maintenance malfunctions. My cellphone would also randomly connect and make calls. Then as I was driving to get gas off the NJ turnpike my horn started to go off non stop and I had to pull the horn fuse out from under the hood. I also noticed a very strong vibration when vehicle is idle and stopped at traffic lights on both driver and passenger side and now seems to be getting worse . Our vehicle was serviced from January 19-21 and the mechanic stated that they replaced the fuses and the cable reel and said the vibration was normal. I did some further research and there is a lawsuit against Honda in regards to the 2015 Cr-v vibration issue. I do not feel safe driving this vehicle and feel that I was sold a $30k lemon . I have owned Hondas in the past with no issues but after this experience and Honda being aware of this issue and still sold these trucks the company has lost my trust. When going through my documents I noticed that I was missing alot of paperwork from my sales contract and I brought it to the attention of the sales representative. At first he said he gave us everything and then realized he didnt but didnt have access to the file room to give us the necessary documents. He stated he would get back to us and never did. So in all I would not recommend going to staten island Honda due to their incompetent sales staff and I hope Honda resolves all of these issues.

Vehicle did not start on a cold morning (Tuesday 07th January, 2014, 9:30 am est). Outside temperature was around -10f (as indicated by cars dash). I do not have a garage. So car was parked outside. I cleared snow on top of car and I tried starting, but it wont start. I gave the starter, 10-12 minutes recovery time between trying subsequent starts. But, car would make clicking noise. Geico emergency roadside was backed up and they said it will take 6 hours to send some one. I had to get it jump started later that evening. Additional facts: (I use the car everyday. I did not leave any electrical appliance/lights on on the above day).

We purchased a 1998 Honda civic in March 1998. While it was in the warranty period, the ac unit went out which was covered. My husband brought it to the dealer and was told that something caused a metal part in the compressor to break, causing metal fragments to contaminate the ac system. The car was about 2-3 years old and the time and the dealer repaired it at no cost to us. We have since sold this vehicle. In July of 1999 we purchased a Honda Cr-v (ex) which we still own. We also purchased the extended warranty ($75k coverage) on this vehicle. In August of 2003 (within 200 miles of when the extended warranty expired) at 77k miles, the a/c compressor failed. I took the vehicle to the dealer and was told that there was no coverage due to the fact that the warranty had expired. I took it to several a/c repair shops and most of them quoted $1200-$1400. We had the ac repaired by a reputable ac repair shop at the cost of $1200. We have kept up all required maintenance on the vehicle and intended on keeping it for another 2 years or so. However, last week, my husband was driving and the same thing happened. The compressor made a terrible clunking noise, and something appeared to break off. We brought it in and sure enough, the compressor had gone out again. I was told by the dealer this time, that it appears that something (road debris) causes this problem and that many others have complained about it. We are being quoted another $1400-$1500 to fix the a/c. We have decided not to buy another Honda due to the problems we have had. My husband had to buy another vehicle (this time a Toyota) because he drives 30 miles one way and then has to drive around to customers. When I called the dealer, I was told there was nothing they could do. I believe that Honda has been aware for many years about a defect in the ac systems or a defect in the way the ac systems and have acted in bad faith by not doing anything about it.

2003 Honda crv slips out of correct timing frequently resulting in unreliable engine performance and a loud tapping noise coming from the engine when running. This defect in the engine has been brought to the attention of the piedmont Honda dealership service department on 2 separate service visits (9/13/2003, 4/30/2004). The piedmont Honda dealership refused to correct the defect and stated checked vehicle and compared to a new vehicle. Sound is not abnormal and is characteristic of vehicle. Performs as designed
piedmont Hondas refusal has directly resulted in the engine stalling out on one occasion (8/16/2004) and refusing to start on 2 other occasions (7/28/2004, 8/1/2004). Both times that the vehicle refused to start the owner was stranded at the least opportune time.

Purchased 2004 Honda Cr-v January 2004 from continental Honda in anchorage alaska. We took it in for its first oil change (5,000 miles) on June 16th. After driving the 15 miles home, the engine started billowing smoke, and spuing oil (the trail of oil can still be seen on the street). The dealer had it towed to dealership, they explained it as a faulty oil gasket, and offered a free oil change. After driving for a few weeks, I noticed a clacking sound coming from the engine. I had the techintians check it out during the second oil change on August 16. After two weeks of looking for the problem, they deduced there was some "scoring" inside the pistons and that they had to replace the shortblock. They told me that this was a fluke (a first time incident) and that the engine will be sent to Honda USA for further inspection. I finally got the call yesterday (September 9) that the car was ready to be picked up. In all fairness, the employees at the dealership were very professional and courteous.
