Very strong vibration at idle. Very annoying and can cause harm to my body and it really makes me regret buying the car each time I stop at a stop signal or at a red light. I have filed a complaint with both the dealer and Honda to take back my costly brand new crv 2015 touring for a full refund. I haven't heard back from them yet.

Shortly after I purchased my 2015 Cr-v I noticed a vibration in the steering wheel when the rpms were between 1,000 - 1,200 and my foot was on the gas. The vibration disappeared when I removed my foot from the gas. I also noticed an increase in the rpms to 3,000 when going downhill with my foot off or on the brake and a loud humming noise coming from the engine compartment. The car does vibrate when idling at a red light but not enough to cause any problems yet. I only have 1,000 miles on the car and was also told by my Honda dealership that Honda is aware of this problem and doesn't have a fix yet. I have owned Hondas since 1986 (accords) and have never experienced problems like the ones on the Cr-v. I am beginning to regret buying this vehicle and agree that Honda should definitely compensate Cr-v owners ASAP. I'm beginning to worry more about additional problems as the car gets older with more mileage. Haven't had it on the highway yet but am worried about similar problems other Cr-v owners have experienced.
My new 2014 Honda Cr-v is garaged in NW ohio. On cold December mornings where garage is cooler than 40 degrees, a grinding sound is heard at start up. It lasts 1-2 seconds. Not every time but at most starts. This happened until April.

I get a harsh grinding 'metal-on-metal' sound from the cam/timing chain, top of the engine when temps below 40 degrees. Visited with the dealer I purchased at, didn't even start a work ticket when I told him what it was doing. Stated it was the vtc actuator problem ,they all have it, replacing the part won't fix it, just have to live with it. Went to 2nd dealer, said same thing but started a work ticket. Gave me a copy of a Honda "tech line summary article" engine rattles after cold soak startup. Affected vehicles, 2008-12 accord, 2012-15 crosstour, 2012-14 Cr-v, we're currently working on a solution but have no recommended dealer repair at this time. Contacted Honda motor CO. To file a complaint, we would like to fix your car, how? you don't have a fix, problem since 2008. Asked for my purchase price to be reimbursed minus usage. Waiting for response from Honda. Will pursue dispute resolution/arbitration if needed.
Air conditioning quit in high temperature 100 degree. . $1200 dollars to fix somewhat. . Shop aid shards of metal sent into system. . . Had to continue trip without air conditioning with an elderly person because seattle Honda unable to fix. Parts had to come from portland. . . If whole system replaced over $2300. .

After several days of intermittent air-conditioning (cooling) function, the ac compressor failed. Dealer mechanic reports the compressor coil failed (melted?). Conditions at the time were high ambient temperatures (CA. 90-100 degrees f). I'm filing this report to corroborate numerous online accounts of similar failures in newer model Honda Cr-vs with 50,000-60,000 miles of use.

Ac suddenly stopped working - blowing hot air on 100-degree day dealer found that compressor had failed, and will replace it.
Add me to the list of owners who suffered a catastrophic Honda Cr-v air compressor failure. It's a 2002 with 136k miles. It's in beautiful condition, well kept by previous owners. I was driving to work and I heard a tinny grinding sound. I pulled over and lifted the hood. Didn't see anything wrong. Continued driving, but noticed the ac was blowing warm air. I called bankston Honda (the closest dealer to me in coppell, TX), who diagnosed the problem. They told me it would cost $3,100 to repair, but that I should call american Honda and open a case with them, since they may agree to cover some of the cost. Apparently this is a widespread issue, one that Honda appears to be ignoring for the time being (at least until they're hit with a class action lawsuit). With 100 degree weather, a wife and two children, there is no way we can survive with a car that doesn't have ac. We chose a 2002 Honda Cr-v based on incredibly consistent positive feedback (safety, reliability, value retention, etc. ). So far this has been the only issue. Our family can't afford to pay $3,100 to repair the ac. We really need american Honda to step up and at least pay for the parts. American Honda have given me a case number (n012009-05-2601731) and asked that I write them to explain what happened so they can make a determination as to whether they'll cover any of the cost. I hope they at least pay for the necessary parts. If they come through, they'll cement their reputation and I'll continue to recommend Honda to my friends and family. If they can't offer any help, I'll need to join the class action lawsuit to try to recoup some of the cost. This is clearly a wide spread problem, one that Honda will eventually need to own up to. . On April 25th, 2009, the a/c compressor in my 2004 Honda Cr-v ex imploded, sending metal shavings throughout the system and requiring a complete replacement of the system at a cost of $3500. There were no noticeable events prior to the seizing of the compressor. Other than this was the first warm day of the season (@85 degrees). The dealer is refusing to pay for the repair, despite the frequency of similar reports across the internet. We have done all factory scheduled at the dealer and have taken very good care of the car.
I'm the first owner of a 2004 Honda crv with a 5 speed manual transmission. From June 2008 to the present (September 2008) the vehicle has experienced a stall problem during every single use. Current vehicle mileage is 115,000. All the stalls occur during the same period relative engine startup, between about five and ten minutes after starting the engine, and when the vehicle comes to a stop. This stall period basically occurs at stop signs for a multi-minute period after the choke comes down. Unfortunately this stall period coincides with typical stop and go driving after departure: near home, workplace, schools, and retail outlets. I consider this a safety concern. The stall occurs suddenly and without warning. Power steering and braking systems become difficult to use. I have narrowly avoided a number of accidents while trying to recover from a stall. The vehicle often does not start back up immediately after stalling. I'm concerned the starter will degrade and further inhibit timely restarting. Repair efforts have been unsuccessful. An independent shop and a Honda dealer have been tried. The Honda dealer in exeter, new hampshire, blatantly avoided the problem and charged about $600 for unrelated work that was also not ordered. Apparently the diagnostic computer reported a voltage drop. The independent shop has attempted to determine the problem at three separate occasions. Spark plugs and wires have been changed and other regular maintenance has been completed. An immediate fix is desired for this 2004 Honda crv stalling problem. My young family is put at an elevated risk every time we drive somewhere, we cannot easily sell a vehicle in this condition, and we cannot afford to buy an extra vehicle.
It was just 2-3 weeks after purchasing my 2004 Honda SUV when the first story came out on the washington post about the crv's bursting into flames. I was told by Honda that I could no longer take the car back I would have to try to re-sell it and take the loss myself. Here I am getting close to to the 5000 mile, which will be my very first oil change, and I see another follow up story on the washingtron post regarding the same thing. And still nothing being done about it. Depending on some emails and letters being sent by Honda is not resolving the issue. I am completely afraid of getting my first oil change, especially when I see that other consumers are taking their crv's to the Honda dealers and the problem still occurs. What guarantee do I have? how safe am I suppose to feel when the Honda dealers still don't do the oil change right? I am in awe that your organization is waiting for a high death toll to finally do something about it. How many deaths will it take for you guys to wake up and tell Honda to do a recall? how many lives have to be taken for you to see that this is of high importance? I am scared of even parking my car in the garage after my first oil change. It absolutely ridiculous that you and Honda are trying its best to save thousands of dollars and prefer to risk thousands of lives. And yet, the consumer is stuck with the problem and footing the bill if that occurs. I'm surprised I haven't heard of any lawsuits. It's to time to take action. I am completely dissapointed with Honda and regret ever purchasing my vehicle from them. They have not come forth for the consumer. I hope the next time I write to you is not because I'm having to complain and write a detailed report of the same thing happening to me.
1. In April, 2004, I took my new 2004 Honda crv to a Honda dealership for its 5,000 mile scheduled service. 2. The engine caught fire about ten minutes after leaving. I pulled off the road and almost immediately an off duty fire fighter pulled over and rendered help. Thus, the only major damage was to the manifold, electrical harness, hood assembly and windshield. 3. The dealer accepted responsibility for the faulty oil change (they showed me the double o-ring that caused the incident) and paid for repair and related expenses. I would like to commend tampa Hondaland for their integrity, concern and professionalism. 4. I received an official notification of the defect today from Honda and am glad to see the system works.
