I own a 2014 Honda crv. Brought in to hopkins mn Honda on 10-13-16 because there was cold air blowing from the drivers side when the heat was on. They flushed the heater core with clr and drained and filled the radiator. Brought it back to hopkins mn Honda on 12-21-16 because the air was still not warm on the drivers side. They pulled it into the heated service area and said the temp tested ok. That is was a 4 cylinder engine and they don't get as warm. Have been suffering with this problem since then. Car has been driven very, very little as working remote. Again, when weather turned cold and heat is needed air was cold coming out on your feet and also through the vents on the drivers side. Brought it to golden valley mn tire & service on 1/14/2021. They did diagnostic testing. Flushed the heater core with clr but did not help. There are several large particles floating around in the fluid that was created because of the issues with the heater core. Advised that vehicle needs a new heater core. Called hopkins mn Honda and spoke with chi a service technician. He stated they would have to run a diagnostic and let me know. I advised I had brought it in twice before and it was never repaired. Was given excuses the second time I brought it in Dec 2016 as to the engine being 4 cylinder and it won't warm up as much as a car with a larger engine. I asked chi if he knew if this was a known problem. And he said yes with crv's and they get them in to repair. I said I read it is an issue with Honda crv's 2012-2014. He said yes. I said why isn't Honda doing anything about this. He said he didn't know. I asked to have the service manager roger call me back to discuss as I am being told by another repair place I need a new heater core. Still waiting to hear from service manager at hopkins mn Honda as of today 1/14/2021.

The anti-freeze corrodes the radiator causing the core to be blocked. Blows hot air on passage side and cold air on driver's side.
The contact owns a 2010 Honda Cr-v. While driving approximately 60 mph, several warning indicators illuminated on the instrument panel. The contact noticed smoke under the hood and immediately pulled the vehicle over to the side of the road and called aaa road service. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic who diagnosed and replaced the radiator, compressor, and belt. The contact drove the vehicle home, but the vehicle failed to start the following day. The battery was replaced by aaa road service. Seven days later, while driving approximately 40 mph, the engine stalled. The vehicle was pulled over to the side of the road and towed to the contact's residence. The dealer was contacted (ocean Honda in santa cruz, CA, 831-661-8693) and the technician advised the contact to trade in the vehicle for a new one. The contact purchased a new vehicle instead. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failures. The failure mileage was approximately 118,000.

Bought a Honda crv-lx 2015 two months ago only to have a vibration problem after three weeks. Hondas fix was to put new head rest with shorter post and bushings under radiator, rear tail gate , transmission and engine so as to mask vibration problem. After doing this the steering became hard not like it was when we first got the vehicle, the steering goes from very easy to almost manual I consider this a safety problem. Unfortunately Honda of America will not acknowledge that it was a design flaw and the car should not be sold. It vibrated at a stop very bad then it feels like you have studded snow tires on at 40 to 50 miles an hour which they claim is a software fix there is a class action law suit in California against Honda for these problems.

Virbration. Steering pulls left. The car has serious vibration at idle, @600 rpm, 1200 rpm, 1800 rpm and 2200+ rpm. This vibration transmits through seat, steering column, floor and pedals. Back pain is induced within just a few miles of driving. Feet get pins and needles and go numb as well as hands and arms fatigue quickly. Driving is limited in range as a result. Dealer attempted 4 repairs including reprogramming, remounting radiator and modifying engine. Vibration was dampened in the seat only at lower rpms. Mpg decreased from 33 mpg to 28 mpg. Car pulls strongly to the left. Having one hand on the wheel (e. G. Reaching for a. C. ) is not sufficient to keep it in a straight line. This has caused many near misses on two lane roads and now I just don't adjust a. C. Unless I have to (foggy window etc. ) I take i95 and this causes problems on ramps. I was told this was all related to the cv transmission, and it takes getting used to, but I had nissans with cv transmissions. For years. I have repair documentation but am unable to upload it at this time. Please contact me if you need them. I returned the car to the dealership immediately upon discovering the problem (within 48 hours of purchase) and they took no action or attempted repair until I had contacted them repeatedly.
While on a road trip driving home on a major interstate highway, the a/c compressor went out. After a few miles warning lights went off and the engine temperature shot up and it started overheating. We got off of the highway as fast as we could. When we pulled over, my husband opened the hood and intense steam blew out from the radiator area. Turned out that, unbeknownst to us, the compressor seized up and caused the serpentine belt to break, which disabled the water pump. It ruined the damaged the radiator and warped the head gasket. We were 2 1/2 hours from home! once were able to get it repaired and home, we took it in to the mechanic so he could look at the a/c. Metal shards were in the condenser and it eventually got into the line and into the compressor. Another a/c issue has been the condenser fan. It has to be replaced every 3-4 years. It was replaced 3 years ago. It is out again.

I had left my office about 10 minutes prior to pulling into a shopping center and was driving about 5 mph in the parking lot, looking for a parking space. I saw one and slowed down even more to barely moving, and was easing into the parking space with my right foot on the brake. Just as the car stopped and I was getting ready to put it into park, the engine suddenly revved up and the car jumped the curb and hit a tree about 5 feet in front of the parking space at full force. It was like the accelerator had been pressed all the way to the floor. I was totally stunned. The entire front of the car was smashed in and radiator fluid was coming out of the bottom of the car. When this incident occurred, I was not talking on the phone; I was not drinking or eating anything in the car; I did not even have the radio turned on. I was not in an emotional state; I am not psychotic, homicidal ,or suicidal. I had both hands on the steering wheel as I had just made a slow left turn into the parking space and was barely moving, with my foot on the brake. I have gone on the internet to research anything like this occurring with other Honda crv's, and there are numerous incidences cited involving the 2011 and 2013 models. It happens in very cold weather (freezing or below) , while the brake is engaged. It was in the low 30's at the time and my foot was on the brake. Luckily, the tree stopped my forward motion, or I would have ended up driving thru the plate glass window of the ups store. Other drivers have not been so lucky - some have been taken to the hospital, other cars involved, other people injured. I am absolutely terrified of driving this vehicle again.

A rattling noise erupted from underneath my 2009 crv, it was discovered that the heat shields mounts on the catalytic converters were rusted through at the mounts and were about to fall off the vehicle. The vehicle in only 3 years old, I am the second owner, purchased vehicle in Feb 2010. After further inspection it was discovered that the catalytic converter heat shields were being held on by radiator hose clamps. This means that in just one year the mounts to the heat shied were already rusted through. I purchased this from a Honda dealership. After calling the local Honda dealership I was told this was normal and not covered through the rust warranty. Heat shields are there for a reason and in order to prevent fires.

The clamps on the radiator were not properly sealed at the time the vehicle was manufactured. As a result the engine over heated while driving at highway speed. The anti freeze leaked out onto the engine compartment. The dealership tightened the clamp, but the head gasket blew a day later.
