36 Visibility problem of the 2007 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 09/11/2010

The side visibility on my 2007 Honda crv is dangerous. I have never had a problem like this with any of the numerous vehicles I have owned. This has happened multiple times at a variety of speeds. Regardless of how I set the side view mirrors, I have nearly caused collisions because of the blind spot. ¿ because I am aware of this design deficiency, I am as careful as possible when changing lanes, I use my signal, look in the mirror, turn my head and then look in the mirror again. Nevertheless, this is not sufficient. This does not happen when I drive other vehicles. If there is some device that can be added to the car I would suggest doing so.

37 Visibility problem of the 2010 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 09/10/2010

I think this is a very generic problem on many cars. Please see a photo attached. Many cars have a shiny reflective stainless steel logo in the center of the steering wheel. Sometimes, the shiny logo reflects sunlight directly to the eyes of the driver. No shiny objects inside a car, please.

38 Visibility problem of the 2006 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 07/12/2010

While driving my 2006 Honda Cr-v I noticed a very strong burning smell that smelled like an electrical fire. It was very strong and I thought it was coming from the vehicle in front of me. I was at an outlet center in lk george , NY with 4 others in my car. We all were overwhelmed on how strong the odor was. I pulled out of the outlet driveway to get into the road so I could turn into the next outlet entrance. As I turned into the next outlet entrance , my driver's side window went down on its own a few seconds later I noticed smoke coming from the master window control and from my speaker panel below it. I stopped the car and had everyone get out. . 911 was called and a firetruck came. The firemen took the inside panel of my car door off and found there were burned electrical wires that had caused melting within the door. There is no recall on this model Honda. I looked up this problem online and found that the Honda fit was recalled for this very problem in January,2010. The entire window master switch and it's corresponding wires had to be replaced as well as the inside door panel.

39 Visibility problem of the 2009 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 04/16/2009

I purchased a 2009 Honda crv in Feb. I was concerned about the rear/side visibility due to the design of the vehicle and voiced my concern to the saleswoman. She assured me that I "would get used to it. " well, I haven't! I have serious visibility problems when backing up and changing lanes in heavy traffic. (I am a very safe driver and have never been responsible for any traffic violation other than 1 speeding ticket over 30 years ago and 1 parking ticket that could not be avoided. ) I backed into a sign pole in a parking lot in mid April, damaging the rear right corner of the vehicle-in the blind spot. Two days ago, while I was very slowly and carefully backing out of a parking space, I came very close to a woman pushing a baby in a cart. I was horrified and immediately attempted to contact the dealer who sold me the car and american Honda-both unsuccessfully. I spent hours e-mailing and talking on the phone, asking for a solution for this serious problem from both the dealer and american Honda. A man that I spoke with at american Honda told me that the design of the '09 crv is the same as the '07 crv which he owns. He stated that he had partially corrected the problem by adding small round concave mirrors like those used for trailers/RV's, but did not document that he had said this. The bottom line is that I own a new, but damaged, vehicle that has a serious design flaw which causes major blind zones. I fear that if something is not done to correct this problem on all of these crv's driving around, more people will be injured or killed. I feel that american Honda needs to be held responsible for the design flaw. Finally, today the assist. Manager at the dealership suggested that I have sensors put on the vehicle at my own expense and remarked: "they're not cheap. " unacceptable.

41 Visibility problem of the 2007 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 11/27/2008

On 2007 and newer Honda crvs,, the side view mirrors are not convex as the are on most vehicle. This design defect results in a very large blind area, especially on the driver's side, that is still causing numerous problems after 2 years of driving due to inability to see cars driving anywhere close to the car. I have discussed this significant blind spot with several other Cr-v owners and all have felt this is a serious problem.

42 Visibility problem of the 2008 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 07/01/2008

Dear sir: I recently purchased a brand new 2008 Honda crv and am largely happy with it. However, on several occasions I have come dangerously close to having an accident when changing lanes due to what I consider to be an exceptionally large blind spot that is not covered by any of the mirrors. Even turning my head around is not always adequate, and is itself dangerous when driving at highway speeds.

43 Visibility problem of the 2005 Honda CR-V

Failure Date: 04/19/2006

On my 2005 Honda Cr-v the driver side sun visor will not stay up. It will fall into my view of the road at any time blocking my view of the road. I have had several oem Honda replacements and they have all fail in the same manor. Honda will no longer replace this defective item under warranty. This is a danger to 2005 Honda Cr-v owner/operators.
