While driving, the transmission would shake the whole vehicle and I have to reduce the gas and then accelerate again to end the shakening. Now, the transmission makes a grinding noise and shakes worst.
The van is having transmission shudder issues when driving at about 30 to 40 mph. No warning lights on the dash board yet.
I want people to know that Honda now has a software fix for shuddering transmission problems and shaking. Our 2005 Odyssey touring would shake between 35-45 mph. We had the transmission serviced several time and never had a broken engine mount. Honda just came out with this fix in late June 2012 and it seems to have solved our problem. Our Honda garage installed this software update for free even though we now have 122k. It only takes 15 minutes. Hope this helps.
I have a 2005 Honda Odyssey with 80000 miles on it and the transmission is shuddering. Honda said it would cost $2,000-2,500 to fix because it is possibly a torque problem. Per ody blogs many other ody owners experiencing same problem. Honda will not acknowledge problem.
We have a 2005 Honda Odyssey with 8800. 00 miles on it and the transmission is shuddering. Honda said 4200. 00 please. Van just paid off. Honda will not step up to the plate and say they have a problem with there vans.
2005 Honda Odyssey accelerating from 30-35 and/or 40-45 mph, the van shudders during the transmission shift. Went on-line and found others with 2005+ Odysseys with the same issue. Most complaints seem to point to the transmission. Took my van to a local dealer they reprogrammed the fuel injector. Did not resolve the issue. For my van, this has been happening for over a year.
The contact owns a 2005 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated that the transmission emitted a grinding noise while driving at various speeds over 5 mph. The contact also stated that the vehicle would not shift gears. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer on several occasions, but the contact was informed that the vehicle was operating as intended. The vehicle was eventually taken to an independent repair shop and the contact was advised to replace the transmission. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and offered no assistance. The failure mileage was 47,000. Updated 04/26/lj.
Transmission makes vibrating noise about 45 mph when accelerating on slight uphill grade. Van taken to dealer shop for investigation. I was told that all checks were within Honda spec. I was informed that it probably always did this and that I just didn't notice it.
