Paint Problems of Honda Odyssey - part 2

The paint has been peeling and flaking for years now and it got worse now. The clear coat is no longer there. There's a recall for the blue color, but not the others. I do not understand there. Paint is paint. Color is different only when the color pigment is added. Is there a recall for blue, it should be a recall for all others. I believe the color (white) of my vehicle is defective period and I would like to see a recall for it. Thanks.

Starting in the spring of 2014, the paint started coming off on the driver side and now the entire front of the roof is coming off.

Paint has been oxidizing & peeling on the top of the van & on the hood. It has done so at an alarming pace & the van looks older than it is.

I purchased a 2011 white Honda Odyssey from a small time dealer on Nov 2012. I observed that the roof of the car had its paint peeling off after about a year 2013 Nov. I went to a reputed dealer, who acknowledged the paint issues with Honda but told that 2011 models are not one of those. He contacted Honda and came back with an offer of $400 to cover the paint issues. But that would no way cut it and I feel cheated and ripped to have bought a Honda. Will never buy a Honda again.

Noticed paint peeling on roof in chunks from my upstairs window. Got estimates to repaint thinking it was due to age. Both vendors asked if it had been hit and repaired assuming that was the cause. I am original owner with it never being hit which caused me to check for recall I may have missed after it being diagnosed as a primer issue. Dealer said the rep told them they would not do anything about it. Now I'm told that even getting it repainted before it rusts will work since the initial primer is the issue and new paint won't stick any better than the old. Don't know what I can do to keep it looking like a trash van.

Two several sections of paint started peeling off without corrosion or scratch. Areas affected: hood, roof, near the back windows and sliding doors. The peeling are major on the roof. This seems a known issue with the dark blue Honda Odysseys. I took it to the dealer but said because it's 9 years old they weren't obligated to fix it.

Honda has a known issue with the paint on at least a dozen different models and years. . . Except mine. The paint on my hood and roof started chipping and peeling away a couple of years ago, and now it's spread to many of the fender seams, as well as seams and joints on the roof. While it's "only paint". . . We all know that rust leads to structural integrity issues, holes and can allow water and elements in to damage the engine. So, this is a safety issue as well as a "visual" issue. I'd like Honda to address this for our car.

We have a 2007 Honda Odyssey that suddenly started to have the paint bubble up and begin peeling. It started off in two small areas on the hood and the roof and has grown tremendously in the past six months. It looks awful.

Large patches of paint have come off the hood, roof and above the passenger-side sliding door. Washing the car with a standard garden hose nozzle results in paint actually flying off these body panels as if it were being sand blasted. The first time I noticed this (October 2012) was less than one year after the extended warranty (dealing with this precise problem) ran out. Up until this time, there was no problem with the paint so it wouldn't have occurred to the original owner to avail himself of the extended warranty.

I have a navy blue color Honda Odyssey 2005. Now, that car is becoming a junk because of the paint defect. And it start changing with rust. Paint peeling becomes serious day after day, almost everywhere the top of the car, and paint start to peel bonnet too. Recently, I found that certain model cars which I have had paint defect, but Honda company said they couldn't fix my car because the date they sat for repairing was over. They never send any recall information about this defect. This paint peeling originally start from the roof, so it is hard to notice quickly. It is definitely the manufactural defect, so Honda company has to fix this no matter what date customers find out, and Honda had to send information about this paint defect early for preventing this happening. I have a 2004 Honda Odyssey. The paint is peeling on the front hood in several spots and the clear coat is peeling on the drivers side rear sliding door. I have brought the car to my local Honda dealer where it was purchased and also contacted american Honda. They both claim there is nothing that can be done for me.

Paint chipped on the outside the size of a dinner plate on the roof above the windshield. No reason.

Paint on the roof peeling on top. Can see metal now and started as bubble. Worried about rusting. Contacted dealer they are doing nothing.

After 3. 5 years after I bought my 2007 Honda Odyssey, I noticed that the paint on the roof and on the top of the front fenders started peeling off. I brought it to the dealer and they said they can't do anything because my warranty had expired. I told them that I have their extended warranty and showed them a copy of Honda service bulletin # 08-031 that describes the paint peeling problem and how to fix it. In the service bulletin, Honda will fix the paint problem and warranty the paint for 7 years. They refused to do anything. I contacted Honda customer service and they said that they will not fix the paint to primer adhesion issue. Without a solid paint covering on the van, it will rust prematurely and lose value very fast. This paint to primer issue is widespread among many Honda vehicles and model years and colors yet the service bulletin only mentions paint peeling on dark blue 2003-2005 Odysseys built at the alabama plant with vins starting with 5fn . My Odyssey is a 2007 with light blue paint, was built at the same alabama plant and my VIN starts with 5fn . I have the same paint issue and the pictures of peeling paint in the service bulletin are exactly like my problem and in exactly the same spots. Clearly the paint problem is more widespread than Honda is willing to admit. Please bring this issue in behalf of many Honda owners to Honda's attention and I hope they will do the right thing and fix our cars and fix the potential paint peeling problems of new cars.

Honda's have been having issues with paint peeling on blue cars Honda extended the warranty by two years for my 2005 Honda Odyssey I was not aware that Honda was covering the paint issue I was not aware that Honda had extended the warranty I am fairly sure that the dealer I purchased the vehicle from was aware that I purchased a vehicle that potentially had a paint issue and that it was covered under warranty. Honda of lisle (illinois) should have been more proactive in seeking out and covering this issue.

Paint is peeling from the roof by the passengers sliding door and rear windows.

Check engine light on and tcs light flashing. Diagnosis code p0740 indicates: torque converter lockup malfunction. Vehicle will not shift into the highest gear at freeway speed, shudders when accelerating at approx 20 mph and gas mileage has decreased significantly. Determined that there is internal slipping requiring a new transmission. Seatbelts do not retract and get caught in doors. Several areas of body have midnight blue paint peeling.

My paint on my 2003 Honda o is peeling. Rich holtz in Honda tomsriver said being we ought it in germany on a army base Honda does not need to cover it. There is a 7 year recall on it. He said he would contact Honda, but it is a $ 4000. 00 job, and more then likely will not be covered.
