235/65/r17 bridgestone dueler alenza plus right passenger tire Saturday, [xxx] approx [xxx] with 6 people (4 were children in carseats) in the vehicle traveling north on [xxx] between exits [xxx] and [xxx] in middle lane. Traveling at a speed of 65mph. Driver pulled over safely to shoulder because the 2013 Honda Odyssey minivan made a loud flapping sound on right rear of vehicle. Driver got out to check and returned to car saying tire had a blowout. With hazard lights flashing driving in slow lane we exited freeway and pulled into the safeway parking lot to access the damage. A large strip of tire on the inside was hanging off the tire as the tread had separated from the main part of the tire. Driver changed the tire to the donut. Damaged tire was placed in a bag in the rear well of the trunk. Photos were taken of faulty damaged tire. The tire had peeled an inner section of tread off the tire with no warning. America's tire rep in turlock, CA today; August 25, 2025 stated the damaged tire should have blown completely causing more damage and possible injuries. On 6-14-2022, I installed a full set of these tires - from costco, florence, ky ( all four tiers have been installed in costco ), to prepare to travel with my family from kentucky to louisiana. Early morning on 6-22-2022, while driving on the highway with my family, suddenly we lost control of the vehicle, and it started to swing. Fortunately, the vehicle stopped on the left shoulder without hitting anything. When we looked outside the vehicle, we found everything is good except the flat tire on the front driver's side. 911 and aaa have been called.
A tire suddendly deflated and disentigrated at highway speed. This was a continental true contact tour 104t. The tires were mounted new Dec 5, 2020 and had low mileage.
Vibration developed in all four michelin defender tires with 9000 miles and 0. 5/32 tread wear.
Driving on I-75 south between exit 123 and exit 116. I heard a pop and the car started to shimmy I decelerated and pulled to the shoulder. The front right tire was totally shredded. The entire side wall was gone. I had just check the pressures the day before.

Tl the contact owns a 2008 Honda Odyssey equipped with michelin defender sl tires, size: r65/r16/235 (na). While driving 70 mph, the front driver's side tire exploded. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer (hardin county Honda, 5608 north dixie highway, elizabethtown, ky 42701) where it was diagnosed that the front driver's side tire needed to be replaced. The front driver's side tire was replaced. The manufacturer was informed and did not assist. The vehicle failure mileage was 114,000. The dot number and tire failure mileage were unknown.
All four tires failed inspection due to dry rot cracks in the tread on may 15, 2017. Tires were purchased on June 5, 2012. Tires were installed at 45707 miles, failure noted at 80010 miles. Costo technician claimed failure was due to vehicle not being driven enough. This seems like a handy excuse and very subjective. When I asked the garage owner who did the inspection if this was a valid reason his response was it is not and said he has seen a lot of this type of failure in michelin tires in the past 6 to 8 years. Please not all four (4) tires failed, not just one. Details of this form required me to select which tire but again, all four failed.

Tires with traction rating a, temperature rating b, and wear rating 740 with mileage warranty of 80,000 miles had to be replaced after only 38,407 miles. Tires had poor traction and tread on outside of tires was worn to 2/32", but not on inside. Tires were always kept at recommended pressure, rotated regularly, kept balanced and vehicle alignment was kept in good standing. Tire dealer recommended keeping the tires at 40 psi for more even tire wear and to make the tires last longer, however the vehicle recommends the tires be at 33 psi (front) and 35 psi (rear) for cold weather.

Terrible wet traction in rain and snow. Could not get vehice to go without a push in 1. 5 inches of snow on flat, gravel driveway. From a stop, tires spin on wet roads. Vehicle veers sideways as tires try to grip. Have nearly been hit pulling into traffic expecting vehicle to go and tires spin out on wet roads.

2002 Honda Odyssey was experiencing some vibration in March on trip to chicago which mechanic attributed to engine mounts as it occurred at 60-80 mph. On June 30 while driving highway 400 north of atlanta on way to wedding the vibrations became unmanageable. So, I pulled over to see if I had a flat to find the uniroyal tiger paw of a year old coming apart. It seems the steel belt broke and the tire tread started shredding. I still have the same tire on the front drivers side; should I be concerned it will happen again? anyway, I had to replace at local store on a Sunday to return home to huntsville, al. Took the bad tire to big ten tire where purchased to be told this was road hazard and they'd sell me a new tire for $70. I disagreed and decided to see if uniroyal has a problem? tire was purchased at $106.
Going south on hwy 5 from just outside sacrament, (by freeport) we struck something not visible in the road and the vehicle warned us we had a flat and not to exceed 50 mph. Our minivan was equipped with michelin pax system run flat tires and no spare. We pulled of the hwy at elk grove and called the local Honda dealer. It was almost 5pm and they said could not help until Tuesday. The manual said we could go 125 miles with a flat tire and our home was less than 60 miles away so we put on the cruise control at 50 mph on hwy 5, then hwy 12 west, and then hwy 160 south. Just north of the antioch bridge the front left tire shredded and we were stranded in the middle of nowhere for over an hour until aaa provided assistance. I contacted michelin and Honda on Tuesday following and michelin offered to pay 30% of the cost of a new tire but nothing towards the cost of removing the tire and putting a new one on. Honda offered nothing. I rejected michelin's offer and they raised it to 50 % and I still rejected it and we have taken the vehicle to a tire store to replace all four wheels and tires because we feel the run flat system is defective and dangerous.
We purchased a brand new van with continental contipro contact tires (brand new). After about 15,000 miles we noticed the tires becoming brittle and blistering. Several tires were losing air. We brought it to a mechanic for a routine oil change and when it was put on the lift he found 6 places that small pebbles had actually punctured the tire and created holes that had to be plugged to drive it safely home. The mechanic informed us that the tires were very dangerous to drive on because they were literally falling apart, blistering, and being punctured by small pebbles. After speaking to continental tire company they informed me that because I plugged the tires the warranty was void and the warranty only covered defective tires. In the opinion of the mechanic, they are defective tires. We have been left to pay for brand new tires for our van that was bought brand new so we can safely drive our family van.

While driving on I-81. I heard a brief, unusual sound inside my Honda Odyssey, then the left rear tire suffered an immediate catastrophic failure. The tire tread just peeled off the tire. Fortunately the tire did not deflate. I was able to safely park off the interstate and call for assistance. The van sustained significant body damage from the tire thread debris. I was towed to the nearest Honda dealer. They had to replace both rear tires with another brand because they did not sell toyo and it was after 6 p. M. They also were able to make the van safe for highway travel by removing broken body parts and securing other body components that allowed me to continue my journey back home without any further incidents. . . . . I purchased a set of 4 toyo versado lx tires about 3 years ago. In the last month, one tire completely disintegrated on the interstate and we were lucky to keep control! the outer tread completely peeled off like you see from 18-wheelers. Just a few weeks later, we had terrible vibration from the front end. Took car to Honda dealer who determined another of the tires was completely defective. The treads were separating from the inside, and the tire was effectively square. All of the tires had plenty of wear left.
I own a Honda Odyssey 2009 minivan with 13k miles. My passenger rear tire burst - with many holes around both sides. I want a replacement as there is no evidence of any nails and the holes are a proof in itself about the issue with the tire. What are my options. How can this site help me?.
Honda Odyssey 2007. Sudden unintended acceleration. While approaching at about 5mph to a stop sign with a stopped vehicle before me, I applied the brake but rather than stopping, the car lurched and the tachometer rose to >2000. I kept my foot down and applied more force on the brake and the car then came to full stop. This is very disconcerting. We bought this vehicle new and after ~ 15000 miles, the car vibrated excessively while traveling at 60-70 mph. Per repair shops, all four tires were "deformed" and cannot be repaired and needed to be replaced.
The contact owns a 2006 Honda Odyssey. The contact stated that the tires wore out after 16,000 miles. The replacement tires, dueler ht 235/65/r16 (na) dot number d684, failed after 22,000 miles. The vehicle was taken to the tire center where the tires were purchased and the contact was informed that the tire wear was caused by the design of the vehicle. The vehicle had not been inspected at the dealership at the time of the complaint. The VIN was unavailable when the complaint was filed. The current and failure mileages were approximately 38,000.
On August 16, 2010 at 3:12pm, I received email stating: "after inspection the tire it is not on the recall list. " message was sent to mfr. On may 8, 2010: to customer service; I purchased 98t futura 2000 lte part number 8694568 2156516 and when I was on i95, I had to exit to go to the nearest dealer of tires (hoping to avoid a towing bill) being firestone tire place just off of i95 at the palm beach lakes blvd. Area in palm beach county, florida. Your tire acted like a flat tire would being on a major highway. Your tire was looking very wavy and when taken off the vehicle looked like a partial twisted pretzel. I got my vehicle re-aligned, as well as, purchased a new firestone tire! replacing tire with approx. Less than 30 days from your tire purchase. I was going out-of-town to my dad's home, a trip approx. 100 miles away one way when this happened in route. I kept the tire and at the time I thought it was an isolated defective tire and was going to write to the manufacturer for remedy. I'm just discovering that there is a recall on this particular tire and expect to be compensated for! truly yours, [xxx] and please send any mailings [xxx]

2007 Honda Odyssey (touring) and michelin pax tires. The premature wear and limited service availability of the pax tires makes this vehicle unsafe for highway driving. A suit was pushed through federal district court (maryland) on this and provided no viable relief to the situation. It favored the attorneys involved in filing the suit. The issue of practicality of these tires is now clear since michelin has now terminated the pax line from new vehicles, thus in time the current limited durability will be further degraded by the age of existing pax tires to service the vehicles which were fitted for this "revolutionary" design. I experienced a premature catastrophic failure of one of my tires and had to struggle (out of state) to find a Honda dealer with the equipment to replace the tire. If you have a need on a Friday night you will be marooned until the next business week to find a michelin or Honda dealer with the expensive equipment necessary to replace a tire needing replacement. Thus creating a safety issue if my wife and young child are on the open road and stuck somewhere. Neither Honda or michelin are standing behind this product. The van is great except the tire system. I cannot find a local Honda dealer willing to confront Honda on swapping tire systems. The closest one is in cleveland, OH (I live in great falls, va). Online research clearly identifies there is a problem but neither Honda or michelin are developing a reasonable remedy. Your tire page does not list the michelin tire I have. My michelin is 235-710r460a 104t.
2007 Honda Odyssey - problem is the vehicle / tire design. The van has the michelin pax tires; the combination of the van and tires results in ridiculous poor tread life resulting in excessive replacement costs. Our vehicle has 36k miles. We have had one tire replaced under warranty but had to pay over $100 in labor only to replace the tire. In December of 2008, I replaced two front tires (over $300 per tire) plus paid money to get all 4-wheels aligned (as a security measure to minimize any possible tire wear). 3-months later, my two rear tires had an excessive wear pattern on the inside wall. One of the tires is only 9-months old!! the dealer is telling me I need to replace both tires at a total cost of $700 - this wear pattern was soon after the dealer alignment. What makes matters worse is that Honda will not allow customers to replace the pax tire system with another alternative so the consumer is forced to pay excessive labor costs to replace tires that have very poor wear patterns and poor tire life. The consumer is "stuck" with continuous repair and replacement costs. We cannot afford to replace our tires yet the dealer tells us the tires must be replaced due to poor wear on one side of each tire (even though they advertise the tire as a "safe product"??).
Inside casing of tire failed (unattached). Was discovered when tire was dismounted to repair a leak. Tire is a bridgestone turanza LS-t. Actual tire mileage 24000. Swapped yearly with mounted snow tires.
