I purchased cooper evolution m+s 235/65 r16 tires that I purchased from tire kingdom at 220 linto blvd delray beach FL. 33444. The set of tires have low miles on them and tread wear is great. When I got the tires I felt a vibration in the tires from the front pretty quickly. I had my whole front end of my car replaced including beairings, no help. So I spent money and replaced the 2 front tires with the same tires and they were very young tires and a wheel alignment and the shaking was mitigated in the front but the car still vibrated slightly. The wheel alignment had the steering wheel off center so I went back another wheel alignment to correct and I mention to them the car is vibrating still if they can inspect the tires and when we looked the front lh tire had tread seperation which looked like someone took a knife andtried to carve the tread at the seem off the tire it went in about 3 inches plus. Tire kingdom accused me of hitting something I was like we barley drive this car and why would and I hit absolutely nothing. So they analyzed it and prorated me another tire of the same brand. So now we are on 7 new tires for one Mini van that barely gets driven. I went to orlando and my back rear of the van was vibrating the last 10 miles I had to take the side streets. I went to walmart and purchased brand new good years for my van and there is now zero vibration I love it. My my van has been vibrating the day I got the cooper evolutions and I went through 7 tires a new front end and replaced rear spindles because I could believe tire with such amazing tread life would vibrate a car like that. If I went for a prorated #8 tire I would still have vibrations. I called cooper tires to complian they gave me a claim number 2003880477 and said bring to tire kindom who refused the tires. We called back cooper who only again said bring to tire kingdom . I have all 4 tires waiting to be inspected with the 4th tire completly out of shape without air in it. Tire kindome no help.

While driving on I-81. I heard a brief, unusual sound inside my Honda Odyssey, then the left rear tire suffered an immediate catastrophic failure. The tire tread just peeled off the tire. Fortunately the tire did not deflate. I was able to safely park off the interstate and call for assistance. The van sustained significant body damage from the tire thread debris. I was towed to the nearest Honda dealer. They had to replace both rear tires with another brand because they did not sell toyo and it was after 6 p. M. They also were able to make the van safe for highway travel by removing broken body parts and securing other body components that allowed me to continue my journey back home without any further incidents. . . . . 2006 Honda Odyssey touring with pax tires system had 3 sets tires put on so far with the cost of 700. 00 a pair the van is 2 year old.
14 months old sigma regent tire (purchased Nov '06). Strange vibration since the day they were purchased. Ntb checked tires and balance - no problem. There is a bubble with small slits near the rim. No rim damage. No failure, caught it and removed the tire. Nothing was done to correct the failure. Ntb said it was my problem, no theirs.

Was driving along I-10 eastbound in phoenix, az around 4:45 am on my way to work and I heard and thumping noise from the rear of vehicle and then the tire blow out cousing damage to the left rear section of my vehicle. Tire was bridgestone p225/60 r16 97t m+s el4z pl6 dot y7x0 (pl6) (4604) loil. When I bought the tires from wal-mart in az had too have one (1) replaced due to separting from the inside of tire which was on 01-26-2007 and then had to have on replaced after the side wall blow out 06-28-2007 and both time tires were replaced. I would like to know if there was a recall on the bridgestone tires for defects. Thank you.
Purchased a 2006 Odyssey touring model and the dealer misrepresented the vehicle's "top of the line tires" by claiming superior wear of tires, their value, benefits, overall cost and environmental friendliness. . . Was informed that this was a superior tire that would last just as long as standard tires if not longer and they were much safer - told 50,000 miles before having to consider replacing them; would provide superior road handling; quieter rides; better gas mileage; and because of the expected life of the tire and improved gas mileage, it would benefit the environment (less waste created). Was also told that they are just a bit more to replace than conventional tires because of the gel inside but well worth the additional 10% it would cost over traditional tires because of their safety. Also informed that I should not worry that the vehicle did not come with a spare or jack because the tires can run flat for 150 miles and that the majority of michelin and Honda dealers in the us are able to repair / replace the tire and they are everywhere. Told that they came with a great warranty and that michelin would replace the tire if anything happened to them during their warranty period because the vehicle did not come with a spare. Dealer misrepresented the actual replacement and maintenance cost of the tires that now appears to be on an 18 month 20-25,000 mile basis. Based on my past experience, a good set of tires average 5 years 45-50,000 miles and have a cost of 50% less to maintain / replace. Bases on their actual cost and the rate of ware, the tires will cost me 4 times as much as a comparable standard set of tire. There is only a handful of dealers in my local area that are equip to deal with this tire and I am concerned that because of the type of tire and special training needed to replace the tires, nationwide, there is limited availability of dealers that could handle a blowout promoting for potential price gouging.
Pax tires fall apart and the dealer did not service them well. Tread failure 1 to 2 inches of rubber fell off, down to threads. Dealer claimed that running into a curb could cause this to happen. Tires failed before 30 thousand miles. Cost approximately $100 more than normal tires. Honda provided no other options to tire problem, monopoly on the manufacturer of tire, michelin. Monopoly on service to vehicle where little other dependents are available to replace tire. Discount tire is the only other provider. Honda does not recognize any other optional tires for use on their Odyssey. Discount tire proposes a replacement with a 18 inch z rated tire that might leave vehicle with a dash warning that cant be turned off or disarmed. Tire pressure system also is not accurate or reliable. No restfully options by owner. Weather changes set off the tire pressure alarm that can only be reset by dealer. One of the pax features was to replace a spare because of weight. A pax tire is 25 lbs more per tire than a normal tire thus nullifying any benefits. Cost is a hundred dollars more per tire and reliability is less. Service ability is less. A dealer this last time was unable to break the bead on the tire. The tire before that they had to replace tire and rim 2 to 3 weeks to get it done. This time two weeks has past and the service not done failed due to mechanical failure on there new $30k000 tire machine.
In November 2005, we purchased the 2006 Honda Odyssey touring Mini-van. Upon questioning the pax tire system (a selling point for the touring edition), we were told by the dealership that replacement would cost approximately 10-15% above similar tires. At approximately 27,500 miles (just 16 months after our purchase and regular routine maintenance), we were told by the Honda service technicians that we needed to have all 4 of our tires replaced due to excessive wear (3/32 tread). Upon calling around to several dealerships in our area we discovered the cost to replace all 4 of the tires was $1200. Much, much more than 10-15% above a regular set of similar tires. While we were made aware the additional cost in tire replacement, we were not made aware of the higher frequency this would occur. In fact we were assured by a certified Honda technician that the tread wear of the michelin pax tires was superior to that of similar Mini-van tires. If we had known that there would be a $1200 maintenance cost in the tires alone every 1-1. 5 years, we would never have purchased the touring edition of this vehicle. We contacted michelin who told us to have the tread checked/verified by a certified pax dealer, and they would have a case open. Upon verification of excessive wear by discount tire, michelin offered a 35% discount on the replacement of the pax tires. Unsatisfied, we proceeded to contact Honda's corporate office in an effort to have the ex model wheels put on the vehicle (at Honda's expense). The corporate office referred us back to our local dealership, who claims the lighter ex model wheels cannot be put on the heavier suspension system of the touring edition. Our current options are to replace with another set of pax tires and hope we donã‚t face this excessive expense again in another 12-15 months or replace with after market wheels and tires.
The contact owns a 2003 Honda Odyssey. The vehicle has goodyear ultra tour (na), size p225/ tires. While driving 30 mph, the steering wheel vibrated. The tire shop stated that the tires were out of balance; however, they were unable to be balanced. After inspection, they stated that the tires deflated from the inside due to a manufacturer defect. The tire shop replaced the two front tires at 20,000 miles. Approximately one year later, after a tire rotation, the failure recurred. The tire shop stated that the tires separated from the inside and they were replaced. There had been no further occurrences. The failure mileage was 60,000 and current mileage was 90,000. Updated 01/07/08 updated.
The pax tire system by michelin gives marginal tire wear. The tires wore out at 25,000 miles. The tires can only be changed by pax authorized dealers making them nearly impossible to find convenient nor inexpensive. What is meant to make us safer has only made us poorer.
We own a 2005 Honda Odyssey equipped with the michelin pax tire system. We have been complaining to the dealer's service dept. About the odd wear (edges worn out while the center of the tread looks fine, and so far they have charged us for an alignment (they said they could not even consider checking into it until we paid for this, and then later told us this was a common complaint with the pax system tires, which leads me to believe that they were only trying to make a few bucks off of us, but that's another matter). The vehicle has tpms, so we know tire pressure is not a factor (at least if following Honda's recommendations is assumed to not contribute to the wear). We do not drive the vehicle aggressively (it is a minivan, and carries our 2 young children, with my wife being the primary driver, so the odds of anyone with this complaint on the Odyssey are that they drive very conservatively). The dealer has told us for approx 10000 miles (half the total mileage driven to this point) that the wear is not abnormal, but now we can not longer drive the van in inclement weather since the last 1/5 of both sides of the tires have worn to the point of not having any water sipes left to prevent hydroplaning in rainy conditions. The dealers service dept has revealed that they have had numerous complaints about these tires, but michelin in their typically "holier than though" manner of never making a bad product (this words from the dealer rep) has stone walled attempts at getting them to admit fault with the design or manufacture of the product. Furthermore, they have a monopoly on the product's replacement, leaving customers no choice but to pay a king's ransom for another set of these tires we do not want. We are filing a complaint, and seeking any info on joining a class action lawsuit against michelin and Honda of America for selling a patently dangerous product to a consumer group who purchased a product with safety being a major factor in the purchase decision.

My wife was driving our 2005 Honda Odyssey (14500 miles) at 60 mph on a smooth dry highway when the right rear tire exploded. The tire separated into three parts, left and right sidewall and tread. The tire was a michelin energy lx4 235-65-16, original equipment on the Odyssey. Inflation pressure was normal, having been checked two days earlier. Temperature was approximately 65 deg. There were four women with their weekend luggage on board, certainly weighing less than the rated load of the vehicle and the tires. Since she was 200 miles from home, she had to buy another tire (off brand) at the nearest tire shop. The failed tire was later taken to discount tire in lake worth, TX for replacement with a correct tire.
Tread came off futura 2000 215 65 16 tire while on highway. Was right rear tire.
While driving at any speed vehicle was running roughly. Consumer examined the tires and saw that the tread separated on the right rear. Several months later, the same thing happened on the left rear tire. Dealer gave the consumer a discount on the first tire, but refused any discount on the second tire.

Tire tread separated at 55mph. Able to get to road shoulder without injury but there was damage to front bumper. Called goodyear, they said that "no goodyear tires have been recalled. Goodyear shop gave pro-rated replacement of tire but said that this model no longer manufactered. Bumper still not repaired. As per news media, goodyear has a "silent recall " for certain 15inch tires. If so,they should be responsible for bumper damage. I am also concerned if remaining tires pose a safety hazard.
