In snow, icy or wet road conditions this unpredictable loss of rpm's and power train response makes car handling and control very difficult. We are aware of other complaints logged on auto forums in the USA and that is why we are reporting this to draw attention to a potentially much bigger problem. We have had this vehicle in for warranty repair 8 times over 10 months. They say they have never heard of this problem, yet there are other internet reports of the same problem. They say they cannot fix it, which means, difficult to control cars are on the road. We hope this helps the us consumers identify this problem in an import vehicle in your country.

99 Hyundai recall - 99v178000- atrans slip**answered by ric willard**.
Automatic transmission; while driving, vehicle shifted into park. Please describe.
Car stalls, runs rough when coming to a stop. I bought it from the dealer on 9/17/99 for $8,068. 96 including finance charges. It had 45,490 miles. Now it has 68,841 miles. The dealer said it would cost $1,600 to repair the transmission problem. When I asked about trading it in, they told me the value of the car is only $2,000. How did it depreciate so much in one year? is there a recall on this car? is the dealer required to repair the transmission up to 100,000 miles regardless of whether I bought the extended warranty?.
