Car Stall problems of the 2011 Hyundai Sonata - part 1

They're was a recall on my car engine code p1326 but I have looked on the the manufacturers website on the code its no recall available and the vehicle had stalled on me going up a hill on a highway and the p1326 engine code showed up on my car.

My son who is 18 had my Sonata in oskaloosa iowa he was driving back to his college campus on Feb, 27, 2021. While driving his engine seized up (the mechanic says it has bearing and rod damage. ) my son's only saving grace was the fact that the car continued to roll and he was able to get it to the side of the road before getting rear ended. His friends and himself pushed the car into a radio station parking lot and had to finish walking back to campus. Ross said there was smoke coming from the engine compartment. The mechanic picked up the Sonata on the following Monday. The sonanta my son said had stalled out a couple of times before the engine seized but he thought it was due to the extremely cold weather and condensation had developed in the gas tank so he put stp in the gas tank. I did some online research and found out that the 2011 Sonata's had a history of engine problems, recalls, and a law suit in 2015 due to rods and bearing issues. I contacted Hyundai USA to try and resolve this matter and see what all is needed to be done. Hyundai has done nothing but give me the run around, transferring me from one department to another with all claiming its not their area. I've tried calling 4 times and even one time linda in the settlement dept. Hung up on me when I tried asking questions about what I need to do. All I was given a case number 18065084 and told alisha was my case manager but she appears to never be in and has not once tried to make contact with me. I believe Hyundai is not trying to honor the court directives and are having cars with bad engines left out on the roads.

This is my daughter's car. On the evening of 9/6/2020, they were driving home when the car just stalled out and would not restart. This was on a city street a couple of blocks from their home. They pushed it to the side of the road and noticed smoke coming from under the hood. Within 5 minutes, the car was ablaze and police and fire were called to the scene. I was at a complete stop and when I accelerated to approximately 15-20 mph, the rpms increased to over 5,000 and engine began to shake however when pressing on the gas pedal vehicle would no longer accelerate. No recall was mentioned by them so I am assuming it was never looked into. Had it not of been for the tow truck driver I would have never been made aware of a possible recall issue.

Starting this past weekend, my son's car stalled while driving but was able to restart and get to his destination. Yesterday 6/2/2020 he received an oil change and headed to work. His engine started knocking loudly and started to stall again while he was on the hwy. He was able to pull over safely. We had the car towed to a garage. They said it was the engine specifically #3 rod. They told us it has been an issue with Hyundai for this engine.

My brakes acting almost hit the curve when I was trying to stop,the transmission stalled almost causing another car to hit me from behind as I drove down the highway also the engine is using excessive oil afraid the engine will lock up causing an accident .

Car accelerates and then stalls at high rate of speed. Dealer says not an issue with the engine and they cannot find anything wrong. Also goes to very high rpm's, while driving. Asked about when happened. It happens all the time for the past three years.

2011 Hyundai Sonata GLS automatic transmission. Problem with ignition key. The key will not go past acc to the lock position to allow the key to be removed. Followed directions in manual to push the key in at acc position, but the lock mechanism does not move. Happens every other day. Have restart the car and move it and try the process again to get key to move into its proper position (lock) to remove key. Impossible security situation as cannot leave key in vehicle. Also stability control light comes on every morning. , and car stalls every time I make a turn while driving. This is dangerous. Took my vehicle in to the dealership who claimed that all recall and campaign situations had been resolved with my vehicle.

My car will stall in the middle of driving. It happens more frequently now and normally happens right after a left or right turn.

Takata recall . On 2/2/2019 my car stalled out why I was driving and when I lifted the hood it's was a electrical burning smell with smoke coming from under the motor I had the car towed and the tow driver also said he smelled like something. Electrical was burning I was coming off a main highway to get an a city street had a friend check out the starter which he replaced, and I replaced it with a new battery. And my friend said the motor is locked.

Engine oil light keeps apprearing and then disappearing. Oil is disappearing like crazy, car is stalling on the road. Was going about 30 miles per hour.

While driving on the freeway, all the warning lights on my car's dashboard lit up all at once, and suddenly my car stalled. I immediately tried repeatedly to restart it and it wouldn't start. My car was towed to a nearby mechanic shop and I was told that my car's engine had to be replaced. I was in disbelief, so then had my car towed to a Hyundai dealer and was told that my car was indeed going to need a new engine. I was told that I would receive notice within 72 hours, as to whether my car's engine would be replaced by Hyundai due to a recall that affected my car.
