39 Suspension Noise problem of the 2004 Hyundai Sonata

Failure Date: 07/29/2010

There was not a crash, having major issues with the front suspension, have taken to numerous mechanics for inspection and they can not find anything wrong. . Feels like the wheels are going to fold under and when going around a corner with pavement level changes, it pulled dramatically. . Its going to cause an accident, and surely cause for recall. A recall for the suspension for vehicles in the salt states only. . . Does not make sense when im reading some of the issues folks are having issues can be caused just by faulty workmanship, very poor quality. And after contacting Hyundai they mentioned mine can not be part of it cause im not located on the east coast. This sounds odd, im having same issues . .

40 Suspension Noise problem of the 2007 Hyundai Sonata

Failure Date: 05/04/2010

While driving down the freeway, car pulled to the left. It is still doing it to this day. Had to take the car back to the dealer after the dealer did a brake job at 77000 miles. Had to argue with the dealership to redo the rotors after paying money for a complete brake job. The dealership finally agreed to redo the job after a long argument. I am still having problems with brakes today. When making a right turn, can hear grinding noises. When backing up and coming to a complete stop, can hear grinding noises. I have had this car in for brake service many times. I hear noises from the back and front suspension that has been going on since 2009. After having the dealership change every gasket in the car because of leakage, I have been hearing tapping noises in the car, reported it to Hyundai motor, but they have ignored this. When I called the dealership after they fixed the gaskets, the gaskets leaked again and they said it was not their problem. This car is junk and it needs to be taken off of the road. Corey and david hagood.

45 Suspension Noise problem of the 2000 Hyundai Sonata

Failure Date: 03/09/2009

I was pulling out of a gas station into a very busy intersection during rush hour traffic in my 2000 Hyundai Sonata. I then heard a snap, a grinding noise, and I could no longer accelerate my car. I was almost hit by several cars passing by at high speeds that did not see my car because they were coming around a corner. Two men stopped behind me and pushed my car back into the parking lot of the gas station. I called a tow truck, and they looked at my car the next morning. The mechanic said that it was due to my front subframe being completely rusted away. It resulted in almost a complete suspension control arm detachment from the vehicle, and wheel separation. They are currently waiting for the new part to come in, in order to fix the car, but the bill is estimated to be $1,500.

46 Suspension Noise problem of the 2000 Hyundai Sonata

Failure Date: 02/03/2009

2 weeks ago I noticed the car pulling to the right as if the alignment was off. As I was driving the car started pulling very hard to the right and could hear the tire squealing. I slowed down to turn into a parking lot and the car dropped slightly and wouldn't move. It was making a grinding sound. I noticed the tire on the passenger side wasn't aligned properly. It was broken. After having the car towed to a auto shop. (cv pros) ed told me that the problem happened because the frame rusted out. He showed me where the rust broke the front suspension bar is what I think he called it. He said that was the reason that the wheel came loose and that a car of only 9 years old should not rust completely through in that amount of time. After checking the web sight "lemon laws" I found where there were many complaint of 1999 through 2002 Hyundai Sonatas prompted a federal probe because of the same problem.

50 Suspension Noise problem of the 2006 Hyundai Sonata

Failure Date: 08/09/2006

Thumping noise and vibration from rear suspension on bumpy roads. Feels similar to what you might experience if the gas tank were loose, or exhaust hit undercarriage of car, or if spare tire were loose in the trunk. Became more noticeable in warmer weather, and after 5000 miles. Seems to have no effect on handling or stability. Returned car to dealer. Dealer acknowledged several complaints, but insisted that it was a characteristic of suspension design and nothing was wrong nor could anything be done to correct the problem.

51 Suspension Noise problem of the 2006 Hyundai Sonata

Failure Date: 04/27/2006

Rear suspension has annoying and loud thumping noise when going over bumps under 40 mph. Started noticing noise within 1000 miles after purchasing vehicle, which was on 10/26/05. Manufacturer has admitted the problem in a bbb arbitration hearing, case no. Hyu0641565 dated 04/27/06 and stated it as a characteristic of the vehicle. Also in a telephone conversations with a regional representative and others as a problem. Took the problem to dealership, who could not find the cause and did not put it on the work orders. Therefore, I lost the arbitration hearing, even though they told me personally that Hyundai told them not to do anything, because they do not know what to look for in terms of the thumping. What automobile manufacturer would incorporate a noise in their vehicles as a selling feature and state it's a characteristic of the vehicle? if Hyundai does not know the cause of the rear suspension noise, then they do not know if a safety factor is involved. The suspension could and probably is defective in some way.

52 Suspension Noise problem of the 2002 Hyundai Sonata

Failure Date: 02/21/2006

In 2004, at approx 45k miles, vehicle developed creaking noise in driver side rear suspension. Dealer repaired for "loose tranverse cross member". Problem re-developed after 3 months. Separate dealer repaired for "worn bushings". Problem re-developed after one week and has worsened to a clunking noise at low speed. Hesitant to return to dealer until properly diagnosed due to consistent repair delays resulting in excessive loss of vehicle use. (current total 7 days for this problem).

54 Suspension Noise problem of the 2012 Hyundai Sonata

Failure Date: 09/12/1999

Car hesitates under acceleration while driving. Does it on road and freeway. Break lights are always going out have to replace every other week possibly have problems with wire harness. Shocks and struts started making noise right before the 60,000 mile mark wears off tire because of it. Car started having similar problems early on when I bought the car at around 12,000 miles for the acceleration. Break light problems around 60,000 miles suspension around the same time. Have had the engine replace twice on this car. And currently in the shop again.
