Front subframe corrosion, cross member is rusted through at the weld line for the front sub frame. Discovered during annual safety inspection.
The contact's daughter owns a 2011 Hyundai Sonata. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle would bounce up and down without warning. The contact had taken the vehicle to the dealer where she was informed that her vehicle was not covered under warranty or recall. The contact then took the vehicle to an independent mechanic where they diagnosed the vehicle with a fractured front coil spring. Upon investigation, the contact linked the failure to NHTSA campaign number: 15v629000 (suspension). The manufacturer was notified of the failure and provided the contact with the same information as the dealer. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was unknown.

The contact owns a 2004 Hyundai Sonata. The contact stated that while driving the vehicle, she noticed that her brakes were failing. The contact stated that she drove her vehicle to an independent mechanic who attempted to replace the brakes however, the mechanic informed her that her vehicle had a lot of corrosion on the brakes, and underneath the vehicle, which caused the brakes to fail. The contact stated that the mechanic did a fabrication and install of the brake line. The contact stated that she then took her vehicle to be inspected and was informed that the corrosion on the vehicle was too severe and the vehicle would not pass state inspection. The vehicle was taken to the dealer and the contact was informed that the VIN was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 09v124000 (suspension). The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The approximate failure mileage was 122,000.

I own a 2004 Hyundai Sonata. On 1/19/22, while driving the car, the brakes started failing. I was able to drive the car to my independent mechanic's shop and they repaired the brake issue with a fabrication and installation of the brake line. As my inspection was due, I made an appt with them to bring it back for inspection before the month was over. When I did bring it back however, another mechanic (who apparently had seen underneath the car when they did the brake work) stated that it would never pass inspection as the corrosion was severe. I then made an appt on 2/9 with the dealer who sold me the vehicle. The dealer however stated that the VIN was not included in the NHTSA campaign 09v124000 (suspension). I believe it should have been included in that recall and that I am entitled to the "remedy" outlined in the NHTSA recall.
Rt passenger side wheel clunks when turning, loud noise when moving took to dealer they found nothing wrong. I returned to dealer again a couple weeks later to confirm my a arm needs repairs, safety issues airbag’s light remaining lit told repairs not available for year and make iwas told to deal with it by dealer even if it was a safety issue, driving car doesn’t matter what speed my back end sounds like it is falling apart and my car will slam out or into gear I have reviewed recalls and safety issues and I have been told that they have been closed even if my car is currently having issues with the vehicle recalls ie. . Slamming in and out of gear, arm issues and clunky noises on turns and driving, rear end clunk sounds like no shocks or struts.

The front driver side coil spring broke at the base. Was driving my car and heard what sounded like something hitting the underside of my car. Upon inspection we found the coil spring had broken. In researching online there was is a campaign recall for 2010-2011 Hyundai Sonata (#133). My vehicle does not fall in this category, but feel it should. Coil springs just don't break, unless you are going off road. There are many forums with similar incidents.

The contact owns a 2006 Hyundai Sonata. The contact stated while driving 25 mph, the vehicle drove over a bump in the roadway and the steering wheel had to be turned all the way to the left to keep the vehicle going straight. The vehicle was taken to a non-Hyundai dealer who diagnosed that the cross member of the vehicle was entirely corroded, and the control arm had detached from the cross member. The contact stated that while checking the vehicle carfax report, he became aware that the recall repair under NHTSA campaign number: 13v354000 (suspension) had been completed on the vehicle prior to him owning the vehicle. The contact contacted alexandria Hyundai (1707 mt vernon Ave, alexandria, va 22301) where the recall repair was completed and was informed that an anti-corrosion inhibitor was sprayed on the cross member of the vehicle instead of replacing the cross member. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and advised the contact to take the vehicle to an authorized Hyundai dealer for diagnostic testing. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 127,314.
My mechanic just took a picture of the subframe of the car which is almost completely rusted through. He said that this is extremely dangerous and that if it was to break while driving the car, I would loose control. I have seen numerous complaints about this on the 2005 Hyundai Sonata on the internet which makes me think this is a common issue.
Upon inspecting the undercarriage of my vehicle found the right side of front subframe cradle suspension rotted almost completely through. When researching for issues pertaining to this model found a tsa was issued , after a lawsuit in California, for the years prior and after my vehicle. The damage is concurrent with the tsa bulletin but excluded. How does a manufacturer whom obviously is aware of an ongoing issue allow so many people, families and children, drive and risk their lives on our public roadways. Is their a subclass recall that will aid those like myself take corrective action.
Upper rear control arm is connected to the subframe of the car and it’s rotted/ rusted out where the bushing goes to hold the control arm in place. Where am I supposed to mount the bushing now since it’s no longer there.

The suspension is going on a arm due to rust and the bearing which makes my car seem to not. Have good. Control.
The rear crossmember bolt snapped off on the passenger side with no warning. It caused the rear passenger complete wheel assembly to breakaway and fold backwards.

I had taken my 2005 hundai Sonata to my local mechanic for a tire alignment, and it is then when I was told that the front subframe was rusted from the inside. There was no indicator of this beforehand, and had it been let be, I could have lost control of the car while driving and been in an accident.
My 2013 Hyundai Sonata gt was a part of the class action lawsuit in which the engine was replace. Within a year, I've had the vehicle checked and serviced at two different auto repairs shops for an extremely rough ride, loud rumbling-thumping and also a squeaking noise. The vehicle still drifts after having two separate wheel alignments. The steering wheel rattles and shakes with the slightest bump in the road. It feels like the underneath is falling apart and I'm going to lose control of the vehicle. With the sounds it makes and how it drives, it feels like I'm now driving a military tank instead of a car. I've spent over $2,000 for replacement-repairs of the: tie rods, u-joints, bushing, brakes, two alignments and four new tires. I called the ofallon IL Hyundai dealer who said there were no recalls or warranty left on these parts. After not getting any assistance from auffenberg Hyundai, I researched online and found hundreds of complaints involving the suspension, steering coupler, defective coil springs puncturing tires and causing motor vehicle accidents and serious injury. There were no warning messages prior to any of these symptoms. I feel that these mentioned parts contribute to maintaining control of the vehicle. I'm sure this could lead to a serious accident which could cause fatalities to eveyone involved! . . . . . . . . .

I was driving when the rear axle broke. According to research, this is a part not replaced in recall in 2013. Recall 113 I almost collided the vehicle with another one.
I was driving 25 miles when the rear axle broke. According to research, this is a part that was not replaced in recall in 2013. I need the repair because the car is not moving. I almost crashed the car with another one. We were my pregnant wife and me. Recall 113.
I had taken the vehicle for alignment. They said bolts related to rear tie rods were rusted and they could not do it. I took it to another mechanic for inspection and possible repair. He said the same. In addition he also said that the struts are leaking. I looked into the history of my vehicle, as I bought it used 2 years ago. I found that the vehicle had been recalled in 2013 for suspension related issues. And some 239000 vehicles were affected. I believe its the same issue which has resurfaced again. The vehicle is perfectly fine otherwise. By the way I have a salvage title of the vehicle on my name if that is important information.

My steering system is loose and make the car hard to control at times. I have had a front end alignment done which has not helped. I have Hyundai about the problem but have not gotten any help in this problem. I understand the the steering wheel coupler is made of plastic. This problem happens on any street or highway.

I entered my VIN number on the has buddy app and it says that I have a recall for suspension but called a dealer and they said that it doesn't. Something is wrong with the wiring too because my doors lock at random times my seat goes forward and back randomly my speakers don't work. When I hit a bump jt feels like my tires are gonna fall off ## #vpic# 1 - check digit (9th position) does not calculate properly; 14 - unable to provide information for all the characters in the VIN. #vpic#.
Suspension and transmission faulty.
Thumping/clunking sound from driver side front wheel area when going over minor bumps and turning steering wheel.
My car is not stearin properly.
Complete break system as been done as well as tires with rotations, having to replace brakes and rotars often. Continues to pull hard to right while driving and is far from a smooth ride. When breaking the car feels to pull forward. The emergency break does not work at all. This feels like a never ending issue. The car seems to sit low on one side, have to take it to get looked at.
Driving home from work one day at 55miles per hr my engine just stalled out and turned off , since then the engine makes a clicking sound and has lost all power , and the tires make a clicking sound when I turn.
While driving down the interstate, the rear of the vehicle suddenly pulled sideways causing the vehicle to slide sideways. This action caused the vehicle to leave the roadway and strike a concrete pole resulting in severe damage to the vehicle. Occupant was unharmed. Airbags did not deploy. Prior to the event, the vehicle was having no issues.
