2000 Jaguar S-type has a defect in the transmission. If the vehicle is parked on a hill without the emergency brake on, the gears will get stuck and the vehicle either has to be drug down the hill to level ground for the gear to shift out or it has to be towed. The Jaguar dealer has attempted to repair it twice unsuccessfully.

The contact owns a 2000 Jaguar S-type. Whenever the contact parks on an incline, the gear becomes stuck in the park position. In order to move the vehicle, it must be pushed and rocked back and forth until it pops out of gear. Occasionally, the vehicle can shift into reverse, which can be dangerous for those pushing the vehicle in the rear. The vehicle was taken to a dealer and they stated that this was a very common issue with the 2000 S-types; however, there was no recall or remedy. Through research, the contact found numerous complaints related to this failure and believes that a recall should be issued. The failure mileage was 24,000 and current mileage was 65,000.
